Killara (Bert Oldfield) Oval reviews
18 Nice location beautiful old houses surrounding the park and soccer and cricket oval
Plenty of parking
Field is a bit chewed up in the middle
Great place for taking your big dog. I wouldn't bring a small dog here. Too stressful for them and potentially dangerous for them.
Great village green
Dog off leash area and the place to walk, work out, or just stand and chat.
A really nice park actually. It is a playground which is great for kids. The grounds can sometimes be a little wet after a lot a rain as it doesn’t drain so quick. Overall, it’s nice to walk around!
Stopped in to fly my drone around the Bert Oldfield Oval. This park gets very busy in the afternoon with people out walking with dogs. On the weekends it fills up with people attending for club sporting events. Attached a couple of drone photos from my visit:
I know why I don’t go to dog parks (not a fan of them tbh). We sat on the outside of the dog park and watched a dog (clearly not with its owner) do it’s business and no one there to pick up after itSo someone likely could have trod in it. The rest of the park was good, good parks and a tennis court which seemed to be put to good use.
Lots of happy dogs and owners every day (especially around dusk). Everyone is courteous and responsible for their pets (and droppings).
Great park for dogs to run & play. Just got to get there early before cricket starts on Sat mornings through summer - often 9am or 930am.
Puppy bliss & a very friendly community.
Beautiful park suitable for kids with playgrounds and other recreation. Love the tennis courts!
Good running tracks without any ups N downs.
Great for kids cycling, scootering, scating.
Attractive flat fenced cricket and round ball footbalk oval and dog off-leash area at other times
Dog Park. If you have a sociable dog, he/she will love this, or go (at literally any time of the day) just to catch a glimpse of the funny Fidos. Pure-bred pooches, mangled mutts and inbetween inu's ALL welcome
The shared sports field and dog run makes it awkward. Seems like there would be room for a separate dog run outside the oval, but there isn't. Some nice bits of bush nearby.
It is a nice park to walk if you have a dog. However if want to go for a walk, you might have to clean your shoes from dogs poop. The fence around the oval smells like dogs wee.
Great for children that are a bit older than toddlers, however this place also suffers from lack of toilet. There is a toilet but a bit far away. The oval next door (WA ("Bert") Oldfield) is great for exercising and socialising dogs
Oval that is off leash dog area from 3pm. Some play equipment but mostly suited to older children (very high frames). Very little for 2-4 year olds.
Don't know whose idea it was to share a dog park with a soccer oval. As a player it was terrible. Dog poop everywhere and pot holes. Terrible playing conditions.
Good oval to take your dog, avoid Sunday afternoons if your dog doesn't like millions of people and dogs. The early morning locals are very friendly.
