Friendly staff appear knowledgeable but not to clear on location of huts and if affected by fires plus when walking one of the tracks no signage so all bush walkers need understanding of this and to take additional software or detailed maps of area so do not get lost and can locate destinations in mind as not to be disappointed that after walking say 8km and come to a fork in track with no signs that may not be possible to take the right track. NSW Parks need to place suitable signage to assist walkers in their parks as this was one of several examples of no signage on walks. Not good.

Purchase my national park permit from here and it was pretty good. Plenty of parking, there was free magazines out front showcasing the national park and the Khancoban area.

However, the toilets had terrible ventilation and reeked of weed. I tried covering my nose while going to the bathroom but it still smelt terrible and it also left my clothes smelling bad.

On the day I visited this was a busy with many visitors traveling through. The Khancoban town and surrounds are worth an over night stay with both Murray Pumping stations 1 & 2 quite close. The Khancoban pondage is worth stopping for those seeking water sports on a pond still lake.

Very good information centre. Small in size but yet it still manages to pack in all the information you could ever need.
Small range of brochures and souvenirs but does have a very well done miniature model of the mountains.
There is also a device charging station that provides what seemed like every charging chord possible. This is free to use.
The staff member here was more than willing to help us out and provide us with all the information that we needed.
This information centre also has a toilet which seemed to be kept in a good clean condition.

The Ranger there was very helpful, cheerful and an amazing person. She guided me extremely well and made us aware of the conditions on the road ahead and speed checks.
