K&B Renovations

We hired K&B Renovations for our bathroom and kitchen renovation. The team exhibited professionalism and great craftsmanship. They completed the job on time and the results were amazing.

Meeting Jochum Vanderkwast was the worst thing that ever happened to my family.

He signed us up to the dodgiest kitchen company that took our money and never came back after roughing in. The company damaged our property and every element of their work is defective. We are about to commence legal proceedings against them. We started kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovations at the start of October and with 2 young children and over Christmas, we still don’t have a complete kitchen.

We have since realized that Jochum’s design didn’t work. His measurements were incorrect and we provided him with the specifications of all our appliances and some don’t fit.

He made numerous representations to us that weren’t correct - ie.he said he had worked with the company he signed us up to before and they were excellent. They weren’t and it appeared they hadn’t worked together before.

There is no team behind this outfit, it is just jochum and whatever dodgy subbie’s he has “arrangements” with (ie. Not what is best for you, but who is paying him the most commission).

For those of you that have lost money or had a bad experience, please provide a review. I would hate for other people to experience and go through what we have.

Needless to say it has been a disaster for my family. My advice - don’t let this guy into your home. If you do despite these warnings -
check whether he is a certified kitchen designer, consider whether he has any skin in the game (ie.do you have a contract with him whereby he provides guarantees and warranties etc), ask to visit and inspect kitchens he has recently done and make sure you receive a completed design you are 100% happy with before you pay a deposit - don’t agree to “the design will be finalized upon check measure etc”.

This guy is bad news. If he was a good man, he would be returning the design and project management fee (of which he did nothing) and the commissions etc I know he has received from the company that left everyone high and dry considering he was the one that signed them up and recomended them and represented that they were great and that he has worked with them before etc. It’s the least he can do considering the mess he helped create.

We had a horrible experience with Jochum, he doesn't return phone call & emails. He doesn't complete the kitchen job, only care about earning his commission. Don't pay him any deposit for the job he promised. You will be regretted just like us. We are going to put him to tribunal.

If I could give this prick less than 1* I would. Don't go anywhere near him. He is a shonk. Will sign you up then disappear hiding behind whichever dodgy partner he has signed you too and taking no responsibility

My experience with K&B Renovations was nothing short of amazing. I didn't have much of an idea about what I wanted my kitchen renovation to look like but the guys were really patience and I'm more than happy with the outcome of the job.

Definitely will use them when I have the time to get my bathroom redone.

My experience with K&B Renovations was fantastic. I am very happy with my brand new kitchen. Looking to do my bathroom in the near future and will definitely have K&B back to do the job. 10/10.

Their work is second to none. The bathroom that they renovated came out better than I could of imagined. I highly recommend using their services.

The team at K&B were able to provide me with some amazing designs that really made me look at the area I had to work with in a different way. The design team went above and beyond with their efforts. The renovation work was carried out in a professional manner too. Have scheduled another appointment for an ensuite extension. Cant wait!

I would highly recommend K&B Renovations. After meeting with Jochum from K&B Renovations we knew we had found the right company for our kitchen renovation. From the start of the whole process right to the end, Jochum kept us up to date of everything that was happening. The team fitted the kitchen and laundry with great care and showed true passion for their profession. The end result of the very hard work is that we have a fantastic looking kitchen, that we all love being in.

We were referred to K&B Renovations by a work colleague and after a few visits from Jochum and the team we were beyond convinced that K&B were the right choice for the renovation. The completed kitchen matched our specifications in terms of timely build, use of high quality materials, and of course, the final presentation. The real test is whether we'd use a company twice - We have been so delighted with the whole process and with the superb result, we certainly would, so we highly recommend K&B Renovations.

It was a real delight to work with Jochum. He brainstormed ideas and suggested a practical re-design of my kitchen on his first visit. His costings were detailed, transparent and very competitive too.

Promised a lot, including project management. We saw Jochum once. He recommended tradesmen he had never met. He was unprofessional, uncontactable, rude and misleading. It was a disaster.

K&B were wonderful, our kitchen and bathroom look amazing. Jochum was a pleasure to deal with - I have recommended him to a number of my friends and family members. The quality for price is great.
