Kareena Private Hospital reviews
55Excellent hospital. Very clean and comfortable. Nurses friendly, kind and diligent. All processes run efficiently. I am very happy to give everything and everyone 5 stars.
I had an amazing experience at kareena
The staff and all the nurses are so lovely and accommodating
The level of service really went above and beyond
Couldn’t recommend more
My brother was having an operation today and I went to see him before he went into surgery. The nurse who directed me to his room went out of her way to be helpful. She just had that personal touch that only few are blessed with!
Had a total knee replacement the nurses were outstanding.
Couldn’t have done more to make me feel comfortable
If someone said sorry, I wouldn’t have written this review……
It has been six weeks since surgery and my hospital stay at Kareela Private Hospital, ample time for anyone to reach out to me.
Surgery was long, the surgeon excellent and the theatre staff professional. After some blood pressure issues and dizzy spells on day one and two a wardsman arrived at my bed to take me to X-rays, I told him I am not feeling well and not ready to get up. He went on to call the nurse allocated to look after me, Miss tough love arrived and told me to get up and into the chair because it is good for me. My protest was not heard. I am a trained ICU Professional nurse, recently retired and I know getting up is preferable when a patient is stable enough to do so. Going against my instinct rather than be labelled a “ICU nurse = difficult patient” I got into the wheelchair. In X-Rays the technician asked me to stand up for the X-Ray, again my protest was not heard. I stood up and passed out, hitting my head against the sharp edge of a trolley, acquiring a gash on my forehead, there was blood (I received Clexane daily). At no time did anyone do my blood pressure, before, during or after this incident. I did not see that nurse for the rest of the day.
In short, I did not feel safe being a patient at Kareela Private Hospital after this incident.
I was booked into Kareena Private Hospital on 19 July 2023 for an operation on my fractured wrist. From the moment I entered the hospital to the moment I left the next morning, I had only very positive experiences. All staff I came in contact with, as well as being professional and efficient, were very friendly and helpful when I needed assistance. I was very impressed by the service in this hospital, from the Admissions/Discharge desk, to the Pre-Surgery Unit, Operating Theatre and the Cook Ward. I am very thankful to Dr Tan who operated on my hand and his medical team. Most especially thankful to Cook Ward nursing staff Kara and Maria who always performed their duties with smiles and friendly faces. If anyone needs an operation, I highly recommend Kareena Private Hospital.
I was so impressed with the level of care and the friendly manner of all the staff I came across during my stay at Kareena. Feeling anxious about my visit, all the staff made me feel relaxed and comfortable. They were professional and went above and beyond. The rooms were great, clean, light & bright. Thankyou Kareena staff - we are lucky to have you in The Shire
Dedicated, caring staff in every area - especially ALL the nursing team in Cook ward. I have been a regular patient in this ward over recent years & have always been made to feel comfortable while receiving the utmost professional care, compassion & treatment. Thank you all. 5 Stars! Suzanne Taylor.
The quality of care at Kareena is first rate and the staff were very caring and attentive to the patients needs. In particular, 2 nurses Katrina and Kareena (not sure re spelling) were exceptional.
There is even a comfortable lounge where you can sit and have a nice lunch after your procedure. Overall if you have to go to hospital, this is the place!
My friend had horrific experience at this hospital for her after care no empathy or care was given by nurses! Avoid going here at all costs
I would just like to thank all the nurses, physios and Dr Gonski on ward E for my recent hospital stay. They made my stay much more pleasant and cheerful whilst I had to rehabilitate after major back surgery. I cannot remember everyone’s name (as I am 85 years old), especially the lovely young man on this morning but I would like to thank Brad, Jacob, Anita, Danielle, Beth, and all the staff on E ward. Thank you so much for helping me.
5-7/12/22 Rooms Clean & Tidy & the Nursing Staff were all wonderful, helpful extremely caring & very professional!
I was provided with all that i needed I felt really looked after in recovery & the days whiles I stayed there.
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the nurses & everyone there. You are all hard working & sympathetic & I felt I was truly cared for beyond my expectations!
A Huge thank you everyone I feel I should have thanked all the Day & Night Nursed who looked after me! Individually.for their hard work & kindness
Merry Christmas to all ️
Cannot recommend this hospital enough! My stay there felt like a holiday. All the midwives are absolutely beautiful. Thank you to Bev, Kelly, deb, Sonu and Karen for going above and beyond for me! Truly an amazing team of midwives!
To the 2 Nurses on the Maternity ward that wanted to be heroes on the 4th Nov at 1430. I hope if you have a daughter she never gets Nurses like you. Your Prison Warden attitude…especially The big set, blond hair one, was appalling. As tempting as it is, I won’t share your names. Next time you want to be heavy handed with rules…make sure you actually know them. The trauma you caused that day with a new mum…who’s baby spent most of his days in SCN…remains 8 days later. Know your rules too when speaking to a new father who’s doing his best with conflicting advice. The star is for Nurse Kelly who was amazing to both Mum and Dad as they navigated this frightening time.
Unfortunately the front line experience was very poor and lacked compassion, care and personality, Sonia the receptionist treated us with no respect, she did not make eye contact, smile or even greet with a hello or how are you. My daughter who suffers with anxiety & advised this to Sonia the previous afternoon when she made the admission phone call also very rude, anyone going into hospital for any type of procedure needs that initial contact to be a lot better than what we experienced that day. Fortunately once I took her to day surgery which Sonia also tried to ask me to leave and let her go by herself rolling her eyes, Melissa the day surgery nurse took my daughter and re-assured her that all will be OK. My daughter has commended the rest of the experience but with the negative start that is what she remembers and talks about the most to friends and family.
I went here for day surgery
Good experience from start to finish
Staff were very good and caring
I would highly recommend
I had a day procedure yesterday and couldn't fault the experience at all. From start to finish I felt very looked after. The staff I came in contact with were all very warm and professional. I wasn't kept waiting too long for my operation, and the meal I was offered after was pretty decent. I even got an ice block for my sore throat after the extubation and some analgesia to feel comfortable as I recover, all the little thoughtful touches that aren't considered when you go public. Thanks again!
I have a two day stay here post surgery and I must say Kareena Private has the best hospital food I have tasted! And the staff have been very kind and attentive. Very impressed with the level of care recieved
I have just had hernia operation. Honestly this is the most wonderful place with staff who are amazing. My thanks girl to each one I have dealt with since I arrived.
I unfortunately have spent over 11/2 years in hospital during my life. This is without doubt the best.
Special Thanx go out to the most happy and helpful
Francesca.
But certainly not limited to her.
Thankyou everyone.
I'll start with the positives, My wife Had a c section at kareena and the after care inside the hospital was great, Dy the lactation expert was phenomenal and Lauraine was fantastic they also allowed us to come back a few days after check up for extra checks etc.some others nurses I forgot there names were also really great.
Unfortunately one nurse was extremely rude and smelt like smoke, she also wasn't wearing a mask inside our room which everyone wears masks at the moment inside the hospital. She came into our room at 2: 30am and basically told us everything we were doing was wrong even though we were following the other nurses advice to the letter, our room completely smelt like smoke after she visited, she also asked to touch baby to help while my wife was breast feeding but we refused as the smell of smoke + no mask, no gloves. I don't know her name but I believe she was the shift manager. I'm glad we didn't see her again as it was quite traumatic how condescending she was to my wife and I at 2: 30am.we didn't fill out the report on discharge as we didn't want any drama we just wanted to get out of the hospital with our bubs.
