Highly recommend doctor YouXia for whom looking for alternatives for IVF or PCOS issues.

I’d been suffering PCOS condition long time (irregular period) and wasn’t able to have baby (3years) due to the condition.
A medicine was prescribed for me from a women’s clinic and it’s side effects (diabetes) scared me. Then I refused to have that tablet.

Then I did a huge research about alternatives of the tablet for my PCOS. Luckily, I found Jade Buddha centre. I admired doctor YouXia’s professional approach and I felt like she has an ultrasound in her hand. She diagnosed me exactly same as western clinic. She recommended me weekly consultations, acupuncture and herbal medicine especially tailored for me. Just after 3 months later, I learned that we were expecting a baby.

Today I’m proud mom of a happy, healthy and very busy toddler. My family including our extended family my parents, siblings and in-laws are always grateful for doctor YouXia for helping us to have my baby boy.

Terrible and sad experience. I felt this was a total scam! The treatment dynamic was not explained properly when booking the consultation. To my surprised, I was asked to pay more than $150 on a weekly basis, if I would have known this I would have never ever booked the consultation. No proper information is provided in flyers or website. I was asked to pay CASH. When refusing to pay for the herbs as I could not commit to the treatment, the conversation became a horrible argument. 0 customer service skills. I wont be recommending this to anyone. Worst experience in Sydney ever. I wont be recommending this to anyone.

Update:

1. The prices on the website of this business are not correct. I was charge a different amount for consultation.
2. A weekly treatment with consultation and herbs was not explained when I booked the appointment.
3. There was no communication about the treatment dynamic. The weekly basis treatment fee was only informed at the end of the consultation. At this point I already lost $85 dollars for a treatment that I could not commit to.
4. I did not arrange a second appointment. Jade continue forcing me to book the appointment after a week, even tho my schedule is very busy. I also mentioned that I could not afford the treatment. Jade confirmed that a forth-nightly basis treatment might not work as she has to provide with new herbs and the treatment might not be as effective. A weekly consultation was never agreed. Jade wanted me to visit her after a week to change the herbs. How could I even commit to a treatment that I already mention I could not afford? No one was ordered to prepare new herbs.
5. I was asked to pay CASH, that is why I left, and after a conversation with my partner confirming I can not afford the treatment, I decided to not proceed with Jade services. Paying for consultation was the fair thing to do.
6. I did understand that preparing the herbs was a lost for them, but I also lost $85 dollars for a consultation that did not provide anything. It was a consultation to get a quote for a treatment. If I would have new this in advance, I would have not even attend to a consultation.
8. The abuse that I received by Jade and her assistant was the worst part of this experience. I share this review because I don't want anyone else to go through an experience like that. I wish I would have read the 1 star review this business was given which clearly resonates with the treat I receive and the poor communication skills.

I first went to Dr You Xia Li in 2015 after I had an ectopic pregnancy and lost my fallopian tube and was told it would be an 80% chance it happening again, but just after only a few sessions I fell pregnant and had a healthy baby. I wanted to give my child a sibling and tried again on my own, unfortunately I ended up having another ectopic pregnancy and loosing my other fallopian tube I was devastated as I should have gone back to Dr You Xia Li.

I started the process of IVF, thinking that it should work, but the first round was unsuccessful and only getting 1 viable egg even though 15 were extracted. I decided not to waste time, I reached out to You Dr Xia Li in hopes of her helping me again with her acupuncture. After a few sessions to prepare my body for IVF, I started the next round, I was able to get more, better quality eggs this round and successfully have fallen pregnant. Thank you Dr You Xia Li for helping me complete my little family.

I came to see Dr Li for matters of feeling generally unwell as well as treatment of a UTI. After about 10 weeks I discontinued the treatment.

Firstly, I did notice at each session when we discussed the UTI that it appeared impossible to make Dr Li understand that I do not have a chronic UTI but that I am prone to contracting a new UTI very easily – there is a difference between a chronic disease that has not gone away for some time versus a high likelihood of contracting a disease. According to the Pathology results I obtained in the past, the bacteria were often a different species, again supporting the fact that it is not chronic. However, Dr Li kept on thinking it is a chronic UTI that has never gone away. This was incorrect and if a practitioner does not understand the full concept of the disease, it makes me wonder about their general mindset.
Despite my doubts that I raised to Dr Li whether the treatment is actually helping my UTI, she always said I have to be patient, it surely has improved, the herbs slowly but surely kill the bacteria but needs time for all bacteria to be removed. Dr Li never suggested to have this checked in parallel at my GP. After 10 weeks of treatment I went to my GP for a urinalysis, the pathology results reported bacterial growth: “high”. So after more than 2 months CONTINUOUS treatment (there were no treatment breaks), I expected the bacterial growth results to be low, I might have accepted medium, but HIGH means the herbal treatment has not even helped even a bit. Disappointment of unsuccessful treatment aside, I had also spent AUD 2000 on a UTI treatment that DID NOT HELP at all. (Dr Li is quite pricey, she charges a set fee per session and prefers to see a patient every 7-14 days to adjust the herbal treatment. On top comes the herb mixture which is charged per day at double to triple the price of what I have seen other practitioners charge.)

Secondly, at every session I had the impression she could not remember well our previous session and relied almost fully on her notes. I do expect from my practitioner to remember my condition well given I was seen very frequently (every 2 weeks). This made me wonder if the continuous full picture of me as a patient is taken into consideration or if this is just an ad hoc treatment decision.

Thirdly, as Chinese practitioners do, Dr Li was taking my pulse at the beginning of each session, however, at the same time as taking my pulse she would read her notes AND talk to me. So, while I have no doubt that over the years a Chinese practitioner becomes a master at pulse reading, I do prefer my practitioner to focus on that task in order not to miss anything. Especially in TCM where subtle nuances of the pulse are being observed as part of the diagnosis. This made me wonder whether she is reading and interpreting my pulse correctly.

In summary: While I do believe Dr Li has some skills in regards to Chinese herbal treatment, her treatment did not help with my UTI. Furthermore, with Dr Li I am concerned that the aim of her work does not lie with the patients but with herself: meticulous scheduling of patients to optimize her time (not optimizing the patient’s treatment), and charge a premium while not delivering perfect results. In short: not sure the primary drive is healing; the service was sub-average. Therefore, I rate one star.

My personal take home message: when in doubt during treatment, if a natural practitioner does not suggest their patients to get the treatment progress checked in parallel by lab results and/or imaging scans then this practitioner may put their own profit over the well-being of their patients.

Update 08Sep2020: Due to the provision of personal information in the review it has been posted under an Alias. The review is correct and was written in regards to my treatment at Jade Buddha Herbs, Randwick that occurred in the time frame of Dec 2019 to Feb 2020.

I suffered from terrible adolescent acne, and now suffer from severe adult acne brought on by long term antibiotic use, trauma and stress. I decided to seek alternative medicines as I did not want to go on any drug therapy recommended by the dermatologist because Of the strict rules that needed to be followed. I looked up my local Chinese herbalist in Randwick and jade Buddha came highly recommended. I booked my initial consultation and started on the tea herbs Immediately. I have been coming here since February and drinking the herbs daily. Since then, my skin has cleared up significantly and almost completely free of any blemishes. I highly recommend coming here for treatment. I have been very happy with my results.

For seven years now I have been a patient of Dr Li. Her treatment of me has largely cured me of my mouth ulcers and my winter coughs. The improvement in my health has truly changed my life. I am very grateful to Dr Li for her care of me.

I have not used hay-fever medication for almost 12 years. It has not been a quick fix or a miracle, and it has taken me a long time to recover. However, after two years drinking Dr Xia’s Chinese herbal remedies that she prepares according to the symptoms. Every year I have full blood tests done, the results showing the improvements throughout the years, especially in the last eight years. I believe in a holistic approach by changing my living habits by no drinking alcohol and smoking anymore, drinking Dr Xia’s Chinese herbs, eating healthy foods, exercising, sleeping well. I went to this restaurant with my partner for the New year's eve lunch, I ordered a fried rice with chicken. When i started eating i found a massive hair in my rice. There was no service to talk to so i went to the bar for a container to take away my partner's food. They wouldn't provide takeaway container so i continued to explain to the staff that there was a hair in my meal. To my surprise the manager politely asked if I'd like a refund, without persisting. I expected the staff to be more apologetic and offer the refund regardless.
Anyway good location food is good but the service is bad.
