IT Recruitment Agency Sydney - Halcyon Knights - Executive IT Recruitment

I've recently been in contact with one of there recruiters. From my first interactions with them, I felt like I was just another KPI to him. This agent skipped the discovery phase and went straight into putting me in an interview for a company/role that did not fit with my career interests/experience. When I advised him of my lack of interest for the roles he suggested, he continued to push me into getting an interview with this company which was uncomfortable given the employers needs and my lack experience and interest (as expected) in the role.

This agent then reached back out a few days later to set up another interview with a different company, this time for a Face-to-Face (F2F) interview. I shared with him on multiple occasions that I'm still currently working full time and don't have the capacity to attend F2F interviews given my promixity from the CBD as well as my commitment to my current role. I countered his offer and suggested a phone/virtual interview. In response, he disregarded my concerns and simply pressured me into the interview by saying that the "employer is flying out to Singapore next week this is the only time available".

On the day of the interview, I had some urgent meeting requirements come up for my current position and was concerned that I would not make it to the F2F interview in time. I expressed my concern via text to the agent and followed up with a phone call to see if we could shift the interview for a virtual/phone interview or simply reschedule when the employer returns from overseas. It was at this moment where I was not impressed with the way he conducted himself.

He started applying high pressure tactics and dropping ultimatums on me during the phone call by saying that I had to decide, right then, on the spot if I want to do the interview today or not. I asked if it was possible to reschedule as today I was hit with some pretty big priorities, I was at this point still interested in interviewing for the position, but today was not suitable. The agent kept pressuring me and wanted an answer on the spot if I wanted to proceed with the interview today or not, saying it's now or never and acting very abrupt.   Upon hearing his tone and the manner which he was speaking to me on phone, I decided to declined to attend the interview. The agent then replied saying “for fucks sake”.  Upon hearing this from a supposed professional recruiter, I was appalled and felt so disrespected. He was not being considerate of my commitments, or of my time and was down right unprofessional. I immediately hung up the phone as I was disgusted by the level of treatment I was receiving.

Adam has been fantastic and truly supportive in his role. His proactive approach made my recruitment Journey very smooth and no word is enough to thanks for his effort he made during recruitment phase.
