Innes Boatshed reviews
56 The fish at this place is fresh and perfectly cooked, unlike some of the other fish and chip shops near this place.
Also recommend the boat cruise and lunch.
After reading the good reviews my partner and I decided to give this place a chance. I had flake and chips and she had blue grenadier and chips. First off the fish tasted OK but it was nothing special, Very tasteless and not great, the chips were God awful! Low quality and chips and not cooked well. This place was very disappointing, the fish and chips in this area in general are very poor.
Just an update. Thanks showing people that all of my comments were correct with your reply. All of my negative reviews are 100% honest and correct. It's sad that you cannot take responsibility for your low quality and poorly cooked food
The Best. FRESH, QUICK SERVICE, BEAUTIFUL FRIENDLY STAFF AND THE ATMOSPHERE IS PEACEFUL. DELICIOUS FOOD WELL DONE BATEMANS BAY
The best Fish and Chips in the area! Staff are always friendly and give amazing service. We often travel to the bay just for lunch here!
Thumbs up for telling us that they use Lard (oil derived from pig's fat) for frying fish. Not very excited about it as its not a very healthy option using animal fat for deep frying.
Very busy but quick. Special was great and reasonable pricing considering what was around. Not a fan of the fish of the day though - Albacore, very meaty. Would probably try a different fish next time.
I'm a quality over quantity kind-of-guy and enjoyed my lunch here. Perfectly cooked fish and chips and tasty salad. Free tea and coffee for those hot drink lovers. Limited seating but decent views of the Clyde.
Traditional style fish and chips served with fresh produce. The very limited seating was great and provided nice views. Don’t go during peak times as it is not designed for crowded times. There is a park nearby to accomodate take away.
The water heater serving those who ordered tea was only luke warm. Go for the cold drinks here instead.
They have the best fish and chips that I ever had. We've tried many times, so delicious and fresh. Sometimes we go to Batemans Bay for their food only.
Amazing as always. Enjoyed a range of seafood with potato scallops and chips. Friendly service with food being prepared promptly. Ocean views and a clean dining area to sit in. Will return again next time we visit.
Delicious fresh fish with not only chips, but also salad. Both chips and salad were 1/2 serves which was more than enough. As we are not regular fish eaters, the staff were able to describe the flavors and textures quite well. There weren't many others there as it was around 5: 20pm on a Monday afternoon/evening which may have allowed them the extra time we needed.
Highly recommend this establishment.
The best fish and chip shop in NSW by my book.
Everything in my order was cooked to perfection. Fish and calamari were fresh. Prawn tray was great, prawns were so fresh and sweet. Staff were friendly. Definitely will recommend anyone to go and try.
Hands down the best fish and chips I’ve had in 4 years in Australia. As a Brit finding really good fish and chips has been interesting but the food here and especially the fish was unreal. The whole family of 5 agreed it was the best fish and chips we’ve had.
Thank You so much for the lovely day we had. The fish chips and salad was great. The cruise was very relaxing and informative.
I had freshly battered Blue Grenadier, a Prawn Kebab and Squid Rings. All were cooked well and the price wasn't too bad.
Service was good, fast n friendly. Everything put in place 2 deter covid! Nice piece of blue grenadier n chips 4 lunch. Good money for value n top it all it wasn't greasy! Thumbs up 4 me n the group lovely sitting on the back verandah with the scenic view n watching the pelicans
Terrible fish and chips, batter soggy, chips dry and horribly greasy. Would not ever go again. A rip of with fish $12 each unbelievable.i gave them this feedback on the ph but could not speak to the manager as not available UGH.
Not your typical fish and chips shop. Literally just battered fish and chips for $20+. No seafood sticks, no scallops, none of usual options.
Stop by for the most delicate, tender and sweet blue grenadier in the lightest, most crisp batter. Find me a better fish and chips, I'll wait!
Best fish and chips I've ever had and very decent price! The seafood tastes fresh and the batter is so light and crunchy. The Boatshed has ruined other fish and chips places for me! Highly highly recommend!
Its super busy and popular so I recommend you go outside of 12 to 1ish. Though that being said their service is pretty fast and there is plenty of grass areas overlooking the ocean if you don't mind sitting on the ground.
