IJK Computer Store reviews
58Dependable store with good service and good prices. Staff are always polite and respectful. They've been here for so many years, that it shows they are well managed and low risk store. Only downside is their website is basic and can be hard to navigate if you are not familiar with how they categorise products.
I have been happily shopping there for 15 years enjoying excellent pricing, within-the-hour pickups, broad stock range, accurate stock levels and fast order-in when (rarely) needed. But unfortunately the other day, I received the most disgusting customer service from two sales order staff. I hope it was a one-off anomaly though the vibe has felt a little down the last few times I have been. I will however give them another chance, and recommend you should shop there nonetheless. Good luck to us all.
Excellent service from all staff at office very knowledgeable and patient
Fixed and have given my aging pc a new lease of life
Very satisfied highly recommended
Thank you
Took a laptop there for a new keyboard, which I supplied, job was done professionally. Very happy. Good for all computer repairs, as well as spare parts. Heaps of parking at the back.
Always a fast and easy ordering process.
Problems with purchases are dealt with on-site.
Great system builders.
Highly recommended. I have been a customer on and off for many years.
I had a 5 year old Power Supply Unit for my PC which failed back in late December. This unit has a 10 year warranty. I purchased it from IJK so I contacted them providing the purchase details. Two weeks later still no reply. I contacted them again and soon after I received a reply. Long story short, after three months, countless emails and having to pay a total of $52 from my own pocket (1. Postage of broken PSU to IJK, 2. IJK Admin charge, 3. Postage of replacement PSU) I finally received a replacement. I'm rather annoyed I had to fork out $52 for a product that was still under warranty and had to wait 3 months for a replacement.
Very quick turn around from online order to pick up. Prices are pretty decent, depending what you're after. Covid safe due to strict practices in place. Highly recommended.
Received excellent service from the young gentleman working in the support and warranty section. Had a cable issue with my gpu and received outstanding service. Great local computer store!
Money angry people don't know how to do business, poor customer service.
Was a long term customer to this place, all good till one day I ordered a particular item and received another one in stead. After returning the wrong order shockingly the Asian lady at the front counter told me i wasn't allowed to go back in their shop because was a trouble for them replacing the order wrongly processed by them. Always had the impression they after money and not customer support at all, and that day had a confirmation of it. After months my little son gaming Motherboard was not working with in warranty but after many hesitation as didn't want ever to step foot again in that shop, decided to rma the Motherboard. Wrong choice again! When entered that place, straight walked to the warranty bay and told the customer support guy about the problem, he scanned the serial number item and told me "i can see you purchased this from here 2 months ago", then he received a service call from the same lady at the front counter saying to him my account was deleted and the item wasn't purchased from there. I just left and purchased my son another mobo from different shop. My advice is Just to be careful with these people. Probably they been long enough in Australia to know they shouldn't Lie and discriminate to customers saying "you can't purchase from here". Hope one day department fair trading can teach them a good lesson.
I bought a NAS and 4 hard drives from IJK just over two years ago as the prices were good (the best at the time?). One of the drives recently began to fail. I brought it in on Saturday to have it replaced under warranty. I was expecting back and forth between the shop and the manufacturer as I've had before at other shops. The rep behind the counter quickly tested the drive and confirmed it was faulty and I was out of there in 5 minutes with a replacement drive in my hands.
Overall a great experience.
I'd rate them 0 stars if I could!
I spoke to a older woman over the phone who wouldn't look up a price for me and refused to check the eta on that same part and was extremely rude and when asked why can you just please tell me how much or when I can get it I was told I know it's too complicated so just look it up and hung up on me.
Better to spend your money anywhere else then here.
I have 5k to spend and they arnt getting a single dollar!
Service is horrible and the owner should really take a look at the people who are dealing with the customers and are essentially the face of the business.
The okay:
The prices are competetive enough, & if you live in the area, they're great for picking up specific hardware/esoteric connectors.
THE BAD:
I cannot understate how bad customer service is, consistently. Paying in-store is a weird, slow process, and asking for help results in marginal acknowledgement.
I do not believe this is fully due to differences in service culture, staff genuinely make minimal effort to communicate with you, mumble over the phone.
Once I sent a PC in for repairs, was told that every part needed replacing, the old parts were not returned to me, the spares from the build were not given to me, and the fan's RGB control cables were not connected/included.
Now, I need to shop for an aftermarket replacement for this esoteric part.
Not impressed
Worse service just pray to God that your product is not faulty otherwise you'll wait months for repairs. If you ask for a refund they'll only give you a portion of what you pay even if they've got a full refund from the manufacturer.
Perfect service. GTX 3080 came into stock yesterday afternoon and IJK had it express shipped to me and arrived this morning.
Whole process was smooth and kept me updated throughout.
Highly recommended computer store for all end to end parts as well as build and services. The service station is outstanding whom are able to fix, build and troubleshoot anything PC related. Good location with parking nearby. Must choose IJK for custom builds, parts and all accessories and peripherals. Good knowledge staff and good quality control system. Highly recommended.
Have over 1000 orders with these guys for our business, not one issue. Warranty is extremely fast and delivery is often same day within Sydney before 11AM.
Highly recommended!
I've been going to IJK for years, even back when it was umart. My last experience in involved the lady telling me there's a surcharge for a debit card. That's no problem, but the abrupt way of speaking to me, followed by saying something to her colleague in mandarin or Cantonese then them both laughing is the last straw for me. IJK is no longer the cheap place to get computer computer components, nor do they have the best service. Plenty of other places I'll go to from now on.
See you never again!
Called store and confirmed part in stock. Ordered immediately and paid $17 for courier from Enfield to SW Sydney. Order did not go out that day and was not picked up till following afternoon. It then takes Fastway couriers 2 days from Enfield to Wollongong. Walking would have been faster. Fastway is the worse courier company that can be used in Australia. Dont bother buying from IJK. Should have gone with a reputable store.
I've bought several items but have issues regarding warranty. I had dealt with Jon who tried to extort money from me as a fee for a warranty claim. I'm really disappointed and this goes against Fair Trading/ACCC guidelines.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend them as they are poor value, give poor service and competitors offer a larger range (which is also in stock).
These guys really care about there customers. I received a CPU in a box that was 10 times bigger then the CPU box. The CPU box itself was wrapped in air bags and bubble rap and there were packaging peanuts every where. You could have dropped that box from a 2 story building and the CPU would be fine. Can't wait to do business with these guys again.
