This is only my emergency supermarket. Overpriced and limited choice, especially fresh food.

The staff is very nice. The managers' specials are usually well priced.

Often the staff are too focused in their conversation with their colleagues to even have a single interaction with you… will just not acknowledge you and scan your items

This often occurs with the staff that’s male, brown hair around 170-190cm, recently got mullet and moe… if he actually wear his name badge I would’ve called up by now

Are IGA Newtown staff somehow under the impression that they are superior beings and don’t have to speak to customers in a polite manner? Never ever experienced people such as these. What do you call a group of rude people: IGA Newtown:

It's small but has all essentials. Prices are a little higher than the big supermarkets.

Owner and owners friends are total creeps, SAing women in daylight and in public, cannot imagine what the disgusting men do at home. Do not recommend.

I just went there the lady who took my Groceries was rude. She wasn't even greet and say thank you after the billing. I much like the service of the staff in IGA Redfern. They were so polite and very well trained mannered.

Regularly observing their delivery vehicles making illegal turns into Lennox Street from Church Street and they don’t seem to mind.

The lack of ownership for their blatant lack of care for the safety of drivers and pedestrians in the road behind IGA Newtown is appalling.

The best they can do is reply with this by their Operations Director-
We take work safety very seriously, but it is impossible for us to control anything outside of the work place.
They play ads saying “How the locals like it” does this also apply to road safety?

I am not shocked by this behaviour considering the owners run 5 IGA sites not even in the local area- so clearly they’re out of touch with “How the locals like it”

They will notify council apparently but I highly doubt this will happen as they regularly receive orders in huge trucks that cannot access their loading dock instead they make illegal turns that endanger the local community- this would hurt them rather than help.

Shop elsewhere this company couldn’t give a care at all.

This IGA is jammed packed taking full advantage of the small footprint compared to other IGAs and supermarket. Great range of cold beverages and snacks and also pantry staples. Pretty much has all household cleaning items covered as well. Parking is available on the street and also behind the building.

I hate this IGA with an all-consuming passion that is hard to describe. The last 3 times I’ve bought milk, the cartons have all leaked. Has anyone ever cleaned up spilled milk from the crevices of a fridge? 3 TIMES. It’s also double the price of woolies and seems to expire twice as fast. The prices are so insane that it literally doesn’t cost more to get Milkrun.

Good people plenty stuff helpful and fast service with no waiting at all, keep up the good work IGA NEWTOWN

I went in to ask for a charger cord
The lady didn’t understand
When I asked are they $7 dollars
The filipino lady was rude and condescending basically belittling me for asking than, when I ask to purchase
She scanned it than just handed it to me
I had to ask for the receipt? Because she’s wasn’t gonna give it to me
That’s why every time I shop there I hate talking to the workers

Staff are always nice here. Especially the ones that have been around for years.you know who you are! I appreciate you

The cashiers were all great but I felt so sorry for them as when I got there the manager was yelling at them and speaking to them all like trash. She was just so rude, no one should be treated like that.

I love the Newtown IGA. They have long term staff continuity that speaks to me of great management. Not super cheap but very handy for locals and and open from early.

Located in King St. Open late, well staffed, great fresh fruit and veggie section, well stocked deli.

It's pricey, but iga in King St Newtown has been a pretty good supermarket over the years. I'm sure that at 11pm on a Friday night, it's not the funnest job to be working on the checkout, but it would be appreciated if the young staff guy dialed down the smartarse comments. Don't need the attitude just my groceries.

Great range of products in store. Decent promotions and always friendly staff. I am not a local to the area, but have been back to your store over the last few weeks to find the same service and well stocked shelves. Wish my local IGA was this good.

Friendly staff and close to transport. Prices are bit more expensive than big chain supermarkets, but nothing over the top.

Always fresh fruits and vegetables are found at Lloyds in addition to many grocery items, in general prices are ok
