Icon Gymsports

I recently had the opportunity to explore this gymnastics center and was truly impressed by their well-structured cheerleading program. The coaching team is dedicated and knowledgeable, creating a positive atmosphere for athletes to thrive. The center's commitment to excellence in both gymnastics and cheerleading is evident, making it a promising choice for anyone interested in these activities.

INADEQUATE VENUE FOR A CHILDS BIRTHDAY PARTY.

These people run a gym and to the best of my knowledge it may be a good gym, but they are not cut out to run a birthday party that they charge over $700 for.

We booked for a 4th birthday and were told that a previous birthday would finish at 2pm, they would then have 15 minutes to pack up, and then we get 15 minutes to setup (from 2.15pm) and then our party would commence at 2.30pm.

You could imagine our horror when we arrived at 2.15pm on the dot to find the previous party still in full swing, with about 20-30 people, not packing up, but still celebrating. They finally left at 2.25pm, 10 minutes late, which meant that:

1/ Our guests walked in a "pig sty", basically what you would expect after a large childs birthday
2/ Our preparations were rushed as we hurridley prepared our own daughters birthday
3/ Due to the previous party being late our own party started late.

These things happen, you are dealing with so many moving parts and children, so we quickly got over it and enjoyed our daughters party.

Despite being delayed by the venue by 10 minutes, as our own party started to wind up we were told by the venue staff that as they were not paid after 4.30pm that we would have to wrap things up or a late fee would be charged. They didn't care about our daughter, they didn't care that we had been short changed and delayed, they didn't care about what we had paid for, they only cared about themselves. We packed up as fast as possible, and were out of there at about 4.32pm, considering the 10 minutes that we lost at the start there would be no late fee. Departing the venue included staff blocking guests getting out so they could receive a promotional bag and very lengthy sales pitch on why they should attend the gym. We went home very annoyed at the staffs behaviour but worse was to come.

Incredibly, despite the fact that the previous party was late and delayed our party, despite the fact that we were short changed and did not get fully what we paid for, we were then charged a late fee!

I would have thought the previous party would be charged and we would receive a gold plated apology, apparently not.

After threatening to take the matter further we were refunded the late fee. Icon finally admitted that they had made a mistake, and instead of taking full responsibility for their actions like they should have, they proceeded to list some ridiculous reasons as to why we were at fault. I am not sure why we are at fault for the previous party running late!

They showed no respect to my daughter, no respect to my family, all they cared about was getting out the door at 4.30pm and to hell with everyone else. If they needed a late fee to pay the staff overtime why did they not charge the previous party and then extend our time to a 4.25pm party finish, 15 minute pack up time and 4.40pm departute. That would have been a logical and fair thing to do for us, the staff and the business itself. That was a very simple solution.

I cannot recommend this venue for a childs birthday, they simply do not care, there are better venues elsewhere.

I have been an athlete at Icon since the very beginning in 2015. I have done recreational gymnastics, tumbling and cheerleading. I have found the gym to be like a second home. Great place to come an learn new skills! The monday night open gym is the best place for young adults to come and learn new skills!

Recently joined the open 2 cheerleading team at Icon. I've never done cheer before but the coaches have been so welcoming and encouraging! I've learnt so many new things:)

I have been a gymnast and a cheerleader at icon since the beginning in 2015. I have learnt so much thanks to the amazing coaches and helpful staff. I highly recommend.

A great gym with a huge range of classes to keep the kids entertained, from babies right through to teens. Highly recommend!

We hosted a Nerf party for our kid there. Unfortunately, the instructors even have no idea who is the birthday boy after warm up activities.
Without clear instruction, kids got into trouble which ends up with limited time for nerf play. It is more like a gymastic activities.
Birthday boy was disappointing.
If you look for a nerf party, try other places, not this one.

What a great place to send your children. We recently signed up after Covid and both my children absolutely love the gymnastics and parkour classes. The staff are extremely helpful and the facilities are great for children of their age (6 and 9).

Very friendly staff, but changes a year ago has seen quality drop. Also there is not much of a progression path once you hit a higher level.but recomended for very young kids.

Icon gymnastics have been amazing for my two girls. I have seen a huge increase in their confidence levels and general ability. We shifted them from another gym and I am so happy we did! Definitely the best one my girls have been to.

Icon Gymsports has been phenomenal! Being seen as more than just a number, they clearly take care to get to know each and every family. You can see the planning that goes into each session and that safety is the number one priority of the coaches.
They are clearly leaders in their industry setting the bar extremely high for others to follow!

A fabulous, inclusive gym with so many programs to choose from and knowledgeable, personable coaches. Highly recommend!

Reviewing for the kinder gym, just take your kids to the park you will get more from there. I can't speak to the quality of the rest of the gym.

My 11 year old daughter has been attending Icon for 5 years & loves it. She has learnt a lot of skills & improved greatly over the time. She especially enjoys the holiday programs
