A ramen shop located at George St, The Galeries in Sydney CBD.

Most of the staff were Japanese and Japanese was spoken freely in the store.

On this day, I ordered regular soy sauce ramen.
The noodles were chewy and the soup had a strong punch of soy sauce and was slightly oily, making me feel as if I was in Japan.

Ordering is done using an iPad stored on the table.

I also appreciate that you can eat it for under $20.

It was okay. Though, I tried the kimchi here. It taste weird, funky, and smelled expired so watch out.
I'm someone who really likes kimchi so I know what it's supposed to taste like.

I've been coming here for the longest time! At least 17 years. The noodles here are my favourite. Such springy texture. The shio and shoyu broth is the best. I'm not a big fan of overly thick and rich broths.

This place is always super packed so I decided to give it a try. They were out of their Tonkatsu ramen so I opted for a Miso broth instead. The ramen was average and the Wagyu beef primarily had veggies instead of meat. Service was average and everything was ordered through an ipad.

I left this place feeling full and satisfied every time. The food is absolutely amazing and bursting with flavour, and the variety of things to order is just amazing! If only there was a chance to try every single thing on the menu. The service is so convenient and simple, using a tablet to order your food and have it delivered to you so quickly is fantastic. I would suggest adding a little notes section however when ordering specific items, just in case there is certain things people would like removed. I cannot wait to visit Sydney again in the future to visit here again!

I've been coming here regularly since they first opened (in 2002? Not sure. Been so long). It was a great hangout spot for me and my friends as teenagers, who then became uni students. It's still a great place now as a working adult.

The food is delicious, but for the past few years I've noticed that the food portion sizes have become smaller than they were years ago (which makes sense due to what's going on with the world).

The place gets very busy, so avoid peak hours. I think you can call them to make a reservation.

The restaurant has a special place in my heart and as a grown up, I can't help but remember the good times spent here with friends.

An authentic Japanese restaurant with delicious ramen and rice bowl dishes. Highly reccommend the Karaage Don. Have to take two stars off because it's incredibly hard to get the staff's attention, to the point that they ignore you.

My family and I came at 12pm for lunch so the lines were mildly long but it moved fairly fast. We were accommodated to seating at a table of 6 with another family of 3. I guess that was alright, but if you preferred privacy, it would’ve been a problem.
Ordering is via an iPad and food is sent straight to the kitchen. It makes it a tad difficult to catch the wait staff as you’ve gotta call them personally for things such as table water, but they’re attentive once you get a hold of them.
Food wise, I wasn’t a fan of ramen prior to this, but after my visit here, I’d highly recommend the Tokyo Ramen. The Pork Katsu Curry was nice too, but it’s a tad on the expensive side.
Paid via the Liven App so it made things convenient.

Aug-17-22;
Came first a late one. As good as before.

Update April-22 ;
Unsure if it's good or bad but it's surely popular. The tan tan ramen is still fine but services are bit cold. The no split bill is an unpopular choice.

Updated - 05/10 - the interior looks nicer than before but I feel the quality has dropped compared to before. It felt more commercialised rather than pursuing for quality. Lots of fancy new choices available on a electronic tablet menu. But ramen is a bit average now, and I felt rushed when being seated (I.e COVID tracing sigh in and seating arrangements)

Past:
I used to go there a lot for their tan tan men and tonkotsu ramen (which has limited serve each day). Pretty neutral with other of their ramen choices. Price is around $15-20 pp. It's more of a casual lunch-time canteen where you wait for your number being called out, get seated and served, order and eat your ramen then leave.

Service is speedy and friendly but cannot expect much from the casual setting as mentioned above.

Been coming here on and off for years, since 2010. The consistently have good ramen, and as a bonus a soya tofu ramen for the vegetarians! Food here is good, service is quick. I highly recommend for quick decent food in the city before a night out!

I personally think the portion of Ramen that I have today is way too small for the price I have paid. In comparison with others there. (Note: Express store) Thanks

Was really looking fwd to this place - but overhyped.here's why: I go in at regular dinner time of 6pm, and they are already sold out of tonkatsu broth (the popular ramen). Okay, I get it. Then I decide to take a seat anyway, and give the place a go. The place isn't too busy as it is a weeknight. They proceed to place me in the worst place available - there is a pole next to the table, and everyone entering needs to squeeze past to get through. I literally got bumped 7 times! Trying to eat like that isn't pleasant. Now, I would understand if it was busy, but they then proceed to put other single diners at the nice table near the entrance with plastic separations. Why did I get put in the very worst possible place? By the way to balance out the review, the meat was way too salty, and they get 1 star as the portion was fair for the price.

Come here for reliable and tasty ramen and karaage chicken at reasonable prices. My go-to meal here is karaage (fried chicken) set.

Another gem, this Japanese restaurant has been a favourite of mine for over two decades! Started as a small shop at Bondi Junction, at some point at the Strand arcade and now after many years have been opposite the Kinokuniya (book shop) entrance. They've renovated in recent years to seat even more people and churn customers out even quicker with iPads under the table to order your meal with. Favourite go-tos: Shio-butter corn ramen, karaage chicken set, gyoza, ice lemon tea (they make this in store /not from a can).

Note: a) Expect a wait. There's never a time where there isn't a wait to get seated
b) It's definitely a fast- food, eat-your-meal-and-go kind of feel, not romantic, high-end fine dining c) pretty sure booking isn't accepted d) for lunch you can head to the ground level for their take away shop in the food court. No lemon ice tea downstairs: (

Ok ramen place in the city. Their ordering system of touchscreen tablets is convenient and fast. The ramen is decent but quite mean with toppings, you have to pay extra for almost everything. Broth is a bit salty, I recommend requesting less salt when you place your order. They used to be good a few years back, was cheaper and a bit more generous with their serving sizes.

A small affordable place for Japanese meals. During peak hours, especially lunch time, there can be a slight wait time for a table but nothing too long. Quick service with their electronic iPads. A nice selection of dishes and drinks. I personally prefer their curry rice dishes rather than the ramen. The prices are reasonable but due to inflation it seems like they have raised the prices which is understanding. I ordered the Takoyaki entree, ramen, Pork tonkatsu and drink - where the total was close to $70.

Definitely will come back.

This place is my happy place. My dreams are filled with their tofu ramen. Every single ramen pales in comparison to this.it is so warming and lovely i highly recommend

It’s located in the basement of The Galleries.

Food is just about average and not really great when compared with other options one has for Japanese food around the area.

Service is a little slow but could be acceptable considering they are generally quite busy.

I wouldn’t say the staff is rude but the staff is not really friendly either.

Have tried this place twice and wouldn’t be going back.

Third time my partner and I have been here and the quality is always consistent. The food is decently priced, generous servings and delicious but not spectacular
