ibis budget Sydney East reviews
50Most friendly and helpful receptionist and staff ever, lovely and great first impression of hotel. Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, high end rooms with excellent service in where we had breakfast. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient.
One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and location is convenient.
Small rooms
Temporary equipment
No closet and almost no storage space in the room
Table is available
Rooms are clean
Staff very helpful and friendly
Breakfast is ok
Coffee and fridge in the room
The hotel's location is excellent! If you enjoy walking, it's just a half-hour stroll to the Sydney Opera House, making it very convenient for exploring this iconic landmark. A well-equipped room, quite comfortable. We arrived at midnight, and the front desk staff was still working, displaying a warm and friendly attitude. The sound insulation is moderate, so if you're sensitive to noise, it's worth considering.
Arrived here with a group. Was our first hotel in Australia. I didn’t have a choice where to stay but have stayed in other Ibis hotels globally. This one had the good, the bad, and the ugly.
The good is location and the service was good where I dealt with them. Breakfast was alright but better than some on my trip. Seems to be used heavily by EF Tours.
The bad - no wash cloths. You need one so bring it or buy a scrubber at Wookiee or Coles down the road.
The ugly - had some stained sheets. Comes with these types of hotels but a bit off putting. Also not very vehicle friendly so keep that in mind if you are dropped off or picked up. It’s on a very steep hill
Claimed free wifi but there was none at all. There was blood on the sheets when we arrived and construction within the building was taking place past midnight.
I think that this is a very worth it hotel. It has okay spacing for the price, the toilets are nice and staff is friendly. Comparing this to a 5 star hotel is not right, this is worth the price as it's only around 200 for 4 people night which includes a buffet style breakfast for only 19 dollars a day for 4 people. The beds are reasonable comfy with the room being modern. Overall it's a respectable hotel and definitely worth the price. It also has good restaurants nearby with a very accessible train station. Also don't forget about the massive coke sign near it.:)
Helpful, friendly concierge. Rooms clean, towels fluffy, bed comfortable, water hot. Basic but comfortable and affordable. Great location, close to transport and restaurants. When air con went wrong staff fixed it in a jiffy. Would stay here again. On arrival don't use the William St entrance, go up and around the back.
Location: Ideally situated at a stone's throw from the Sydney CBD, with a bus stop right outside and King's Cross station a 5-minute walk away.
Amenities: They serve a modest but wholesome breakfast buffet for $10, which is very reasonable for the items available: toasted bread, spreads (butter, peanut butter, jam, etc.), ham slices, boiled eggs, cheese slices, cereal (4–5 kinds), milk, orange juice, fruit salad in syrup, flavored yoghurt, and coffee made as requested (cappuccino, mocha, etc.)
Rooms: Our room had a king-size bed, attached bathroom, a TV, mini-fridge, electric water kettle, iron, and a sofa. The lack of a wardrobe may be a problem for some, though it didn't bother us. The air-conditioning system is a tad slow/mild, which means that the room might feel stuffy for a while before it starts to cool down and feel more pleasant.
Staff: The staff was friendly; they provided an ironing board upon request, access to their kitchen when we wanted to heat up a soup that we purchased in Chinatown, and room to store our luggage on the last day when we checked out and went sightseeing before our flight.
Overall, very pleased with the experience of staying at this hotel. I highly recommend it if you want a budget-friendly hotel from which, Sydney CBD is easily accessible.
Room weren't totally clean. Bathroom was small. Rooms were noisy. Can hear almost everything your neighbours are doing.
Staff was ok, but sometimes didn't say hi when you passed the reception. Didn't tell us about the breakfast options or any other information.
Location was perfect! Close to Station and only 15 min walk to city center.
I been here on 27-29 The Lady and The Guy Receiption so Amazing, Wonderful Customer Service.we will back here again
The rooms are stinky, bathrooms are cramped, and there is literally exposed plywood in all of the rooms. Stains on the mattresses, and cheap nightstands.
Walls thin and could hear the other rooms sneezing. AC very loud and missing fan blades. I would have turned it off so I could sleep easier but they bolted the window shut. $30 per day parking was an unpleasant surprise. Advertised as queen but was double bed. No doona cover on blanket. Traffic was very loud. Carpark was overflowing with broken equipment so maybe they are fixing these problems but not there yet
Ibismal!
Stayed for 4 nights and barely slept due to extremely loud cleaners and other guests. The walls are pencil thin and you can hear every room from the ones above to the ones across the hall as if you are in there with them. Definitely not a good idea to stay here if you want some sleep as the cleaners will wake you up at 6am or some other guests once they pass the hall.
Rooms much smaller than advertised, no space to put belongings, can't even plug own devices into tv for entertainment so it can only be used for free tv channels. Staff were short less than helpful when inquired about the situation.
Fair price. Friendly staff. Small but clean room and bathroom. Carpark available for $30 - need to access from the lane behind.
Cheap and great location. Staff is friendly but not helpful at all. In 3 nights 4 days stay I have to change room because the water in the toilet kept running and they didn’t do the housekeeping of the room even though I left the sign on the door. Communication with guess is a big issue in this place!
It’s ok. Location is great, within walking distance to city. Close to Kings Cross train station. Air conditioners need cleaning. Full of mould spores with no filter! Room smelt so stagnant. Requested for it to be cleaned and they couldn’t be bothered…
My friends and I loved staying here over the weekend! The reception team was so incredible and helpful, and even gave us a later checkout time after a big night. The location was great, so close to the city and the room was way better than expected for the price. Would definitely recommend!
They mentioned that they have a city view room that’s why we booked but there is no view from my room. No handwash in this covid situation. When we booked the room, they mentioned that breakfast included but they charged us when we went for breakfast. There is only yogurt, fruit and toast options for breakfast. There is no bath mate on the bathroom so when u take shower and came out all the floor is wet and it’s risky. No plug in option in the bathroom to use hair machine.
