Hyatt Regency Sydney

Hyatt is really bad for a five-star hotel and price point
My credit card was inexplicably charged after check-out mini bar
I had an argument with the front desk and was informed that wine and water were being used?
My partner and I have never drank alcohol in the hotel
The Water part is even more outrageous
The purple sign above said "with compliments", but the hotel manager actually told us that "only members are free"? ?
There was no mark on the purple paper
This outrageous thing really shouldn’t happen to a five-star Hyatt hotel
Is it a deliberate attempt to bully non-English speaking people who cannot read their credit card accounts carefully?
Even the housekeeper who does the cleaning is highly suspicious
I don’t know the actual items of the mini bar at all.
(I bought beer outside and left the empty beer bottle in the room after drinking it. I suspected that the housekeeper thought it was a mini bar item and the charge was deducted)
Although there was a refund in the end, it completely affected my mood.
No second visit required
Not worth it either.

Really enjoyed our stay in the Hyatt Regency! Centrally located with wonderful views of Darling Harbour. Food and drink choicesat the hotel restaurants and lounges were great. You can check in early. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds.

4 star because no parking, no swimming pool, no back or front yard, no proper lounge area (has a sitting area at the foot of the reception). The bar on 12th floor was fully closed for whole day when we arrived.
However, staffs are extremely friendly and very helpful. Also, hotel rooms and all areas are absolutely clean and tidy. The location is great and the property has a new and luxury feel to it. We upgraded for fantastic view rooms.

The rooms are quite new and maintained in the Tower, many food option, location is just perfect. Our stay was the longer one with kids. Highly recommendable

When to the hotel on a work trip was an amazing experience! The only complaints that me and other friends had was that the rooms were very hot. There was no way to turn on the air conditioning! The staff were lovely and rooms and other amenities were very clean. I would recommend and will be coming back.

Soon as soon we entered we noticed the bed sheets and toilet was not clean (saw some blood marks on the bed) did ring and informed the hotel but they seems to not much worried.
So we decided to leave and ended up with paying for the car park (85$) just for 2 hours.

Ended up in staying 4 star hotel which was far better than this 5star.

Over the phone they will offer you some romance packages with additional charges (a romantic drink voucher and chocolate).

I made special requests to be done and expected some real romantic but end-up with calling the service and asking where is the romantic chocolate.

The room was fine but nothing spectacular. The king bed was two king singles pushed together so kept falling down the middle. No water pressure in the shower so the water dropped straight onto the shelf under the tap making it difficult to shower.

First off, I had read the previous reviews before we travelled and I noticed a few were quite bad reviews towards the hotel, so therefore I was naturally curious as to how my stay would go.

As for my experience, I can't rate it highly enough. From our Reception to our Departure, everything was as you would expect from a Hyatt hotel. Concierge staff, reception staff, room attendants, Jackleberry Cafe - all very friendly. I would personally like to thank Rachel, all the Breakfast staff and to Kerin who went out of his way to be helpful. Our room was perhaps smaller than other hotels, but it was well laid out and was all that we needed for our 3 day stay. The bed and pillows comfortable. Low noise (if any) from other rooms. Spectacular view of Darling Harbour from our rooms and the night view was something to behold. Fireworks Friday to Sunday night of our stay. Being over 60yo I would give the Zephyr Sky Bar a miss next time. Music loud and more suited to the younger crowd. Open air and at this time of year quite cold, even with the heating available. I am glad that we went up there though, the view was, again, wonderful.

Having access to Cockle Bay Wharf via the 'back' doors was great. Down a few steps and we were right at the Aquarium etc. This is something that could be pointed out to guests on their arrival or perhaps by some literature about the hotel amentities and surrounds in the rooms.
I hope that my husband and I will soon return to the Hyatt Regency, Sussex Street. I'm looking forward to it.

I was invited to a conference there and the staff were very accommodating to my allergies. Especially Cindy, she knew the menu well and made good suggestions to prevent my allergies from flaring up. The event was set up beautifully and I would love to attend another conference held there in the future.

Quiet, clean and fully touchless check in, check out and access.all done via the app on your phone. Staff were friendly. Rooms are refurbished and nice. Bed was comfy.

We decided to use Hyatt Regency as our venue for our Big Hindu Wedding,
We used the Grand Ballroom and the Maritime Ballroom, Hyatt was so accommodating to us by allowing us to perform all of our customary rituals and traditions.
The staff were amazing and supported us throughout the event.
A special thanks to the Chef’s and staff that prepared and served the food, from the moment we went to the menu tasting we knew we were in good hands.
My background is originally South Indian, not only did the Hyatt kitchen alter the menu to deliver Indian flavours but they also went as far as providing specific flavours from the South of India and they were spot on.
Also a special thanks to the Wedding Sales and planning managers and all others who helped out.
It was a magically weekend and they met our expectations and exceeding them.

Great position with amazing views over Darling Harbour. Very modern interior and Dining choices, room suite prices are competitive to other 5 Star hotels with all-round good service.

I had the pleasure of staying here for work whilst attending a trade show down the road; I can honestly say staff were so nice before the sliding doors opened, from assisting with luggage from the car to the desk. Check in was warm, friendly and fast. Room was nice and clean and had everything you need, I didn't need to unplug an alarm clock to plug in my charger as there were plenty plug options right where you need it.
Room service was good value for money and guest services were always happy to help with a the random request of a toothbrush kit or a bandaid all the way to check out.
I would definitely recommend this place for work or to unwind.

Great location for a quick get away, parking is just across the road and easy. Room was very comfortable and views of the harbour were beautiful. Staff were very friendly. Hyatt meet all our expectations

Highly recommend the seafood 3 course meal at Sailmaker.unf not a buffet atm due to covid but still amazing

I had interstate inlaws visiting Sydney and we booked 2 rooms here back in 2018 (exec suite with harbour view). The reception, lobby area, cafes/bars were great and probably 5 star (or close).

The only thing that we were extremely disappointed about and had to bring to management’s attention was the fact that a staff member (gentleman) bolted into our room at 3am while we were sleeping (without knocking might I mention) and walked halfway across our room before suddenly leaving.

To this day, we still don’t know why. My partner was asleep and it infuriates me that my/our safety was at risk and privacy severely breached! Not to mention possible assault or criminal charges if an accident had occurred-unbelievable.

Management sent an apology email with a “free upgrade and breakfast” for our next visit. I don’t think we have rushed to revisit, and have taken our business elsewhere (usually free upgrade anyway depending on season).

Please be cautious, even on holidays and even if you are staying at a “5 star” hotel.

Great central location, views and stay. Didn't quite make 5 stars due to cleanliness of rooms and breakfast experience

I attended an all day conference there. Very impressive. Grand ball room is superb, food was high quality, the staff were excellent with a special mention of Wilson. Very attentive, nothing was too much. Well done and thank you.

Have stayed here twice and my family all book here when have to stay in city.very happy with rooms booked and staff. Have had room service this time and last time stayed and again food was great. This time booked breakfast for morning which I'm sure is delicious as have eaten in their restaurant before and food was of high standard. Will be back again.thankyou.

Only went to the bar to meet some friends and colleagues. Really nice setting, great bat staff. I'll be back.
