H&R Block Tax Accountants Randwick

I had an awful experience with H&R Block Randwick due to exceptionally poor customer service and a lack of professionalism on the part of the staff. If you are looking for a competent team who are responsive to your communications, I would suggest looking for another firm.

After my initial consultation, I requested simple details about how to login to the online portal and the consultant was not able to provide these to me. I was concerned that the consultant was not able to comprehend basic financial documents during our meeting, which he spent eating lunch.

After more than one week had lapsed without an update on the status of my return, I contacted the office via phone and email on more than 5 occasions and did not get a response. I eventually only received a response - 13 days after the initial consultation - after I called the H&R Block Head office. I was then asked to provide further information about my return to a different accountant/consultant. Overall it took over three weeks to complete the return and far too much effort on my part to chase up a response from the team. I'm surprised that a multinational firm would tolerate such a poor level of customer service in one of their offices.

Met on 6 July 2019. Provided all records and relevant information information by 15 July. Had two meetings which were a complete waste of time. Failed to adequately advise on assessment. Gave specific direction and instruction to complete or provide update, which was never satisfied. Constant excuses, delay, and incompetence. When challenged on phone, told “I’m in a meeting with a client and he hung up”. Worked on my own assessments to the point I could do it myself. After a month and a half he admitted he had not looked at my file material. I advised I was going overseas and wanted it completed prior. He told me that he would need more time. I gave a specific direction for an update on my assessment, with a view to completing it on my return 2 months after first consultation, and 6 weeks after all materials had been provided. Received a reply declining to complete the work, despite being paid part payment upfront for incomplete assessment. General demeanour is unprofessional and incompetent. I’ve sought a legal demand from head office in connection with the failure of performance by H&R Block Randwick. He actually referred me to H&R Block Bondi Junction, when he replied to my email declining to complete my assessments, when everything had been done for weeks. Just lazy, incompetent and a complete waste of my time.

Dealing with these cretins was an incredibly frustrating and confusing experience which I hope to never repeat. It started with being assigned an accountant who didn't have command of even the most basic tenets of the English language. I left there after being told that my return would be over $500 but I find out a month later, that is actually what I owe!
Very disappointing indeed.

Kim is very experienced and thorough. He knows the system very well, follows the rules and tries his best for you. HR Block have strict policies so everything gets checked, which for me is comforting. Price is very reasonable.

Unprofessional, slow, incompetent. Was completely ill advised and would never recommend this agency. Never again.

Been waiting since September for my tax to be done rang head office and still have no idea where my lodgement is. 48 emails and multiple calls. The most frustrating experience i have ever bore witness too. Last but not doubled their service quote. Think the Australian Financial Review should review this company.
