H&R Block Tax Accountants - Queanbeyan

I had the worst experience in my phone consultation on the 4th of April 2023, prior to booking i had asked if i could talk to someone in regards to my less than 12 month business. During the appointment it went way faster than i anticipated with little to none of the info being absorbed, my business is very niche so a lot of the straight forward things are much more complicated and all i wanted was some help but i felt as if the accountant was putting me down for not being on top of it. This was the worst experience i have had in my time doing business.

Quality service, the amazing staff at reception were so polite and helpful through my whole process of booking an appointment and the head accountant Jessica worked with myself and my partner with opening an ABN and reviewing partnership account. Over all I felt that this particular accounting agency met all my needs along with immaculate customer service that made me feel comfortable during the appointmet.

Jess took very good care of me it was my first time doing my taxes at HR block and it was very easy to understand the processes. Great services! Thanks again.

H&R B Queanbeyan left me very unsatisfied with their poor service that dragged out weeks because of poor communication.

It's clear why this place has under 4 stars.
The WORST communication I have ever experienced especially in an industry where we are made to blindly trust people with our finances.
They also try to push any fault they make onto you and make it to be YOUR fault not theirs.
I'd stay well away from this ridiculous business group.

Last year they failed to lodge my return because they were busy. Funnily enough every business has busy times, and tax time is yours H &R. This year they severely misquoted my return to the tune of 50%. Go somewhere else. Two strikes and they are out. Happy for someone there to call and follow up with me.

Went there for my Tax returns, next day they asked me to come for my documents and applied for Medical Exemption Statement (MES), I waited for more than 3 months but they had sent old MES form and my application rejected. I was totally disappointed by the services and price was also too high for individual Tax Returns ($169). I withdrew my application but wasted my three months. Very unprofessional. Never recommend anybody.

Once upon a time, I used to go to ITP to do my taxes. Then, I had a bitter experience with one greedy ITP lady charging me for having several bank accounts (!?). I then went to H&R Block out of curiosity and have never looked back. H&R Block is professional, easy to contact and all their tax consultancy officers are well presented, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The best thing is because H&R Block are also around in the USA, it makes life easy for Aussies who work in the USA.

Very satisfying to work with, excellent staff, professional and cooperative.

Great service from H&R Block Queanbeyan - I've been going there for years to Ross and now Alison is managing my tax returns. The staff have always been helpful and pleasant. Alison had my details ready when I arrived, was very efficient and quickly answered my questions on this year's return and other tax matters. I had my refund back within 8 days!

Professional but so lazy and disorgranised. Tax refunds has so many missing claims that I have submitted and took almost 3 months for them to launch. Never Ever Again. PLEASE AVOID.

Very efficient however price charged was way OVER what another self funded retiree was charged.

It was quick and easy with no stress. The accountant was well versed in what needed to be done!

Due to their clerical incompetency, we now have an unexpected bill which they failed to deduct from our return, as it was originally agreed.
They never notified us of the error and 8 weeks later sent us to debt collection for the money.

First and last time ever using H&R.

I recently had my tax return completed by H&R Block Queanbeyan. It was my first time lodging a return that included an investment property and I advised this at the time. I was missing a few pieces of documentation and sent these through a few days later. A week later I was advised my return was complete and I could come in and sign. Luckily they were open late on Thursdays so I was able to go after work hours. On arriving, my return seemed less than I expected and on looking through I found that there was no information lodged against the council rates and the insurance seemed very low. I queried the return. I spoke with one of the staff who then acknowledged that the rates was missing as the documentation I had sent through was for a previous year and one of the insurance documents was incomplete. No one bothered to contact me, they simply completed it without the required information. I guess the statement that they will get a maximum refund is misleading. I sent through the updated information and the return was completed a week later. Unfortunately they were no longer open late Thursdays and it was weeks before I could get time off work to go and sign. When I was advised of the fee, I asked if there was a discount for the fact that the return had been incorrect, I had done part of their job for them. The receptionist went and gt someone from the back. I assumed someone with the authority and skills to deal with a complaint. He looked at me and smiled and said but yes, you got your return done in the end didn't you. And you know its fully tax deductible. It was incredibly patronising, as if I am some poor stupid idiot incapable of doing my own tax return and don't understand that being tax deductible is only worth about 42 cents in the dollar. I then explained that I am paying for someone to do my return and should be able to trust that it will be done properly. I asked again for a discount. He then asked the receptionist if they could even do that. How ridiculous? He then said he was new and didn't know and retreated back into the office. What incredibly poor customer service, incompetence and unprofessional behaviour. If you are happy with an incomplete return that DOES NOT maximise your refund, these are the accountants for you. I certainly wont be Queanbeyan or any other H&R Block again.

The office staff are always warm and friendly and I have rarely had to wait longer than a couple of minutes prior to my appointed time. My tax agent is excellent! She is efficient and fast, but nothing gets overlooked. I have been using the branch for many years and will continue to do so.
