H& r at Sutherland does a great job because they know what it's like on time to get tax done eg Saturday is good for me because my own tax accountant don't do late times or Saturday because of my work hours so I went through h& r & found them to suit my timeframe on getting tax done it's easy to see why h&r is popular some may choose to be good but be careful as I found out with 1 account no paperwork to sign or show for getting tax done just $ in bank account when done but h & r shows you & explains the process as you get tax though them.

Visited the Sutherland branch and was served by lovely Helena who had an exceptional customer service, was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I will definitely be back for me next tax return!

My wife and I have been trying to get our simple tax returns processed since early January. The tax returns, prepared by Helena, contained multiple significant errors. For example, Helena advised me that as per her calculation I was supposed to pay tax when in fact I was due to receive a refund. I notified Helena promptly to rectify the errors. While she rectified some errors in the 2nd tax return version, the other errors remained. I have trying to communicate to the office more than 10 times, attempting to resolve the errors and finalise my return so I could receive the refund, but have been ignored – there is no response and no finalisation of our tax returns after 3 months.
I’ve escalated the matter to the head office, who assured me to forward my complaint to Kym Caine, the district manager, on Monday 27/3/23. I was assured Kym would call me within 48 hours. No one has called after 5 days. I called the head office again on 29/3 and earlier today (31/3), only to be told that they could not locate my original complaint – so I had to submit yet another complaint over the phone all over again. They assured me to ‘escalate’ the complaint to the district manager Kym Cane again.
I don’t know what to do. There is no way to contact anyone. I have no confidence that there is anyone in charge. All phone calls get directed to a call centre, and staff there have no idea what’s happing and who is in charge. It seems no one cares that I am losing money on daily basis (as I am due to receive a refund) due to these delays (having to pay interest on my home loan).
I have been advised to lodge a complaint against H&R Block with the ATO and the Tax Practitioners Board so that their conduct gets investigated, which I will do unless someone in H&R Block resolves the matter by Monday. It is very sad and stressful that they are treating people like that, causing them trouble, distress and financial loss.
