Disappointing Experience at House Canteen, Sydney Opera House

I recently visited House Canteen, located inside the Sydney Opera House, and my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite arriving with my assistance dog and presenting the necessary certification, I was met with unnecessary delays and unfriendly service.

Upon arrival, I was informed that I could not be seated with my assistance dog, despite showing the required certification. After a lengthy discussion, I was finally allowed to sit, only to wait for over 10 minutes before anyone came to take my order.

The staff's attitude was disappointing, lacking empathy and understanding towards my situation. The whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would not recommend House Canteen to anyone requiring special assistance or looking for a pleasant dining experience.

I used this cafe while waiting for my Opera House tour.

There are sofas and tables along the seaside where you can relax while looking out at the sea. However, it is constantly monitored by seagulls. It doesn't run away at all even at very close range. Please be careful with your luggage and food.

Great atmosphere with great views especially if you are sitting outdoors. You get the view of Sydney's attractions while dining. The food was great and friendly stuff as well. But just a warning, never order raw salmon when sitting outside because seagulls will be all over you and your food once you take the lid off. We really enjoyed our time there.

Had terrible service. Ordered a drink and waited an hour then when you tried to follow up where the drink was they threatened to kick us out. For the type of bar it is, I can get better service at a busier & cheaper bar.

Such a nice place near with opera house and the view was so great if you want to See the fireworks.the food is great especially chicken avocado sandwich and the sashimi also fresh even their croissant definitly will comeback here.and yaa the staff were friendly enough

Unreal spot looking at the opera house and the bridge. Food is really good quality. Not waiting too long and value for money for where it is. Delish

Its my first time having brekkie in here, want to enjoy the harbour view. I like the service, it was a long of queque but they served pretty fast. Tomato croissant very crispy and i like that melted cheese, the chicken sandwich i think too much mayo for me. But my friends very like it

Great Japanese style fare in a beautiful location. Order online from your table and the food is brought out to you. Bit pricey for the quality though. Kids bento, kids sushi and babycinno were a hit with my kids.

I love the chicken sandwich it's PERFECT for me. The service also EXCELLENT. Nice place. The best spot to see the opera house. Thank you:)

Fast services, love their sticky chicken and noodle not too expensive but worth the view, also try their orange cake definitely will come back:)

Great place to enjoy views to opera house and harbour bridge. Also the Staff was friendly and the service was quick.

If you get the top seats it's got one of the best views in the world. However it's super hectic. Food and drink were quick to arrive. Some items were great (katsu bao and spring rolls) others were not (both sets of dumplings we had were stodgy).

Views are amazing, that’s the only good thing about it, service was slow, so overpriced and food tasted horrible, not worth the money guys trust

Went here the other and ordered chicken and veg dumplings. Myself and my mum both have food poisoning…

Stellar views. Service was good. Food great. Drinks amazing. I recommend the Long Island ice tea and the frozen margarita. The only downside was it gets so busy it becomes hard to find a clean table.

I just finish my morning run and stop at this place.try their bacon & egg, the bacon very generous. It's classic but gold! The coffee is good too.

Great location, my favorite hangout place. The food was delicious. All the food were fresh. My favorite menu are chicken sandwich, smoked ham roll and as always sticky chicken snack. Thankfully the staf were very helpfull and fast response. I highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to be back

I went there on lunch time and I ordered chicken sandwich and bacon egg from bakery, both were delicious and fresh. Absolutely will come back for lunch again!
