Hotel Nelson (Formerly The Nelson Resort)

Sarah was so welcoming when we arrived. We were in a newly renovated room and it was beautiful.

We have been here before and the rooms are good size and clean and tidy. The staff are very friendly a nd the location is perfect for walking around the marina or town. Will stay there again when in Nelson Bay.

Nice, clean and spacious room. Soft bed. Really big modern bathroom. Double grazed glass sliding door so you can’t hear any traffic. Good location within easy walking distance to the bay or central shops. Would stay here again.

We had two rooms at hotel Nelson. So much better than expected. Location is excellent. Service and cleanliness excellent. All in great value for money.

Wonderful house - every detail is perfect. The location is perfect and the pool and fitness area are also nice.

Beautiful balcony overview of the Nelson’s Bay Area, nice and friendly staff but the rooms are quite small and less quality compared to other hotels.

Really friendly, helpful staff. Well maintained, clean, modern rooms and in room facilities. Kids enjoyed the heated pool. Perfect location close to Marina, pub and town centre. Great cafe downstairs with good coffee and breakfast options. Will definitely be coming back!

Modern, clean room, stayed in room overlooking the Marina. Modern bathroom, nicely decored, Modern bathroom. Would definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends.

Great location, had superior King suite, a bit overdone calling it a Superior king compared with others, but location compensates somewhat.

Had a fantastic stay at the Hotel Nelson, rooms very clean, quiet, centrally located, good coffee downstairs, well catered for with heated pool and steam room. Also great service and parking we ended up extending our stay and will definitely be back.

It was a cozy modern boutique hotel which was not what I expected. I made the reservation in a rush so didn’t really read the hotel website. For the price for this location, I was imagining an old tired hotel so it was a nice surprise. The room was small but nicely designed. Clean. The balcony had a table set and a lovely view. The swimming pool was heated so we were able to swim although it was quite chilly outside. All the staff I dealt with online and everyone we met there were so nice and helpful. Their cafe called “Little Nel” offers an amazing breakfast. Definitely recommend.

Could not recommend this hotel more. The receptionists on check in and check out were both very welcoming and accommodating. We wanted to use our Stay vouchers after we had already paid and they went the extra mile so that we could. They also gave us a complimentary bottle of wine for our anniversary. The room was lovely and the bed was the comfiest I've stayed in at a hotel. Will definitely be back!

Staff are very helpful and friendly especially the lady in the reception area. Room are very clean and location are close to everything. Definitely will stay in this hotel when I come back in Nelson Bay.

Booked via booking.com. This hotel is affordable and close to shops. They even have a steam room you just have to ask the reception and their pool was heated nice and warm. Definitely will book here again if I ever come back to nelson bay.

Loved the pool area which extends to bbq area and has a gate that leads up carpark. You can borrow towels for the pool. Very family friendly hotel.
Service was friendly. Convenient adjoining cafe.
Free parking - easy to get in and out.

I recently facilitated a two day conference for 18 CEO's from the Newcastle area at The Nelson. We stayed at the property, utilised the conference facilities over those two days for not only the members but were joined by the respective partners on the second day. Breakfast @thelittlenel (the cafe attached and within the facility) along with catering to support the event.
Simply brilliant! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. They delivered the facility, meals and AV conference facilities at the highest of standard on time, every time.
Dealing with conference centers on a monthly basis I would rate this one as one of the best. I would without hesitation recommend this facility.
