Holiday Inn Darling Harbour reviews
44Great rooms for the price, excellent location, everything you could possibly want to do is close
Although the room is fully furnished, the furniture is old and has minor damage
Mezzanine rooms have a low floor level when going from the entrance, easily causing slipping and falling when falling asleep
Location right in the heart of Chinatown, convenient for travel
Hey.
Happened to stay here.location ok
Any type of transport.ok accessible
B/f.very bad… not tasty.very bad presentation of dish.eg: I was asked for boiled egg n gave a broken egg which is not acceptable by a pax who travels frequently n stayed at 2,3,4 & 5* hotels.the chef should have removed that one n gave fresh one.the way of presentation matters…
A bad learning…
Room ok
Bathroom horrible.old styled wash area.not expected in Sydney city
Never STAY here but unfortunately very cheap property where everyone looks at that CHEAP.
We arrived and waited in lobby the area was squished and the furniture needs a good clean
We had issues on check in and after finally checking in we were told we would get a call when room was ready we did not.
When arriving back we had to complete more paperwork as that got lost also.
Rooms need a good clean and I have sent feedback about the bedding which appeared that the doona and underlays are not changed regularly.
We asked for extra towels as stayed 3 nights and had issues getting the interns to understand our request - finally we got extra.
The windows need a good wash and vac as they are sealed and the room could go with a clean over as had a smoke smell on beds.
On checkout the final let down was we stored bags and were given someone else’s bag?
The manager quickly seen and changed but not good enough
We sent feedback and got a sorry we will train staff better!
I would stay with other options if I was in the area again, it was not clean or amazing with service and they store bags in the breakfast area of a night.
One last thing would be great if the vac was not left in front of your door for hours at 4pm and laundry hampers.
Agree with other reviews this place needs a good clean, better housekeeping and better front service
We were really happy with our 5 day stay here recently. We chose a 1 king bed apartment room which was a great size and included a separate seating area to the bedroom. The bathroom included a large shower and bath. The included breakfast provided plenty of options. There is also a gym on the third floor for guests to use. The holiday inn is located right in the heart of china town which is an area we hadn't stayed before, usually choosing to stay in the rocks area. But this was a great spot surrounded by a range of Asian restaurants and bars. The closest tram stop is only a couple.of minutes walk away. Highly recommended place to stay for your next trip to Sydney.
Bathroom very tired and shower looks grubby, needs a renovation asap, In room dining is now menulog. That's not in room dining, jb's the in house restaurant is closed, needs to be sorted, covid was a few years ago guys, get it together.
Kudos to Nate and Ros for being awesome receptionists!
Utterly helpful and informative, service with a smile and very willing to lend a helping hand.
Save for the 3 lifts which were slightly slow to service, the ambience along the corridor is quiet and welcoming.
Rooms were sizable, comfy and a restful evening is ensured.
Well located with eateries and Coles being nearby for simple necessities.
Wonderful 5 night stay at the hotel.
Location is close to darling Harbour and close to circular Quay via tram line.
The room was spotlessly clean and we had plenty of space.
Breakfast was included and was of good quality. The staff in this area did a wonderful job keeping the food stocked and the tables clean, well done.
The hotel is in the Chinatown area and most restaurants are also of Asian cuisine.
Biggest room ever, fit the whole family, clean, location very convenient to get food, next to paddy's market, walking distance to few of best affordable dim sum in sydney
Firstly, this is just another big corporate that makes you feel like you are just another number and they don't care if they loose your business. No attempts made my any one of the 2 or 3 managers (that I spoke to) to prevent this review from happening (this just tells you if the managers don't care, how can you expect any of the other staff to care). Apparently a 4 star hotel with service of a 1 star hotel. First the room was clean. Now onto the annoying bits. Booked for four nights here. My room did not get serviced the first two nights. I had to call the front desk to get it serviced. Then on the third day again no room service (someone did come at 12 and asked them to come at around 1.30 and they said it wOuld be fine, came back at 5 with room not serviced again). On top of that booked a room with a king bed but apparently all I got was a room with two single king's joined together (sorry but that is not the same especially when you try to turn and then have your arm in that gap in between the two beds). All I got was sorry each and every single time but this kept on happening (in regards to the room service), then I got asked what time i would like my room made up the next day (what is the point? I was leaving that morning). Honestly people take Ur money to other hotels that might need it and appreciate your service more.
Booked a superior king online with booking.com, when at the hotel they advised that we have been upgraded to a more expensive deluxe king room, Which they couldn’t tell me what was the difference, The room was a tiny old room nothing liked we booked with the superior after complaining that it was not the room we booked from the pictures they put us back in the superior which was 100 times better. Shocking that they lie to people and act like they getting a upgrade when they downgrade them.would never go back.
Tucked away in the back of Darling Harbour makes it the perfect place to base yourself to explore all of Sydney's gems, most are within walking distance, bus stop and light rail.
The only draw back is parking limited on site but parking stations are close by (can be costly)
No honest information about car parking, meals, no restaurant or drinks available in room. Had to walk to and from car park, had to leave hotel for meals. Made it difficult to enjoy the stay
Reasonably clean. Staff was reasonably friendly. Wasn’t happy about payment and rewards point.
Can be noisy at times, walls are thin and doors too. You can hear people talking in the hallway and shutting the doors.
Quite obviously different from other IHG hotel in a bad way. I guess you get what you paid for. I probably will not come back here again. I’ve stayed here once and the second time, really just confirmed that I shouldn’t come back.
Terrible TV. Good location. Near light rails, Haymarket, Chinatown. Walkable to town hall train Station and darling harbour.
No restaurant and only single beds and parking was a shambles.
Not good enough for the price.
Nice area to chill and relax around in the cbd with beautiful harbour view and great restaurant and eatery to enjoy around the area with water view.
It was okay, parking was expensive and not part of the package. Restaurants at hotel were all closed so no room service available. Location good though
Breakfast at hotel - lied on their advertising
Parking at hotel lied on advertising
Paid extra for a family room. What's the difference between a family and a twin? NOTHING!
Advertising all over their hotel showing parking and breakfast included and I paid double that advertised rate and still had all these issues. I'll be calling their head office to formally lodge a complaint. 1 for misleading/incorrect advertising the second for the way I was treated
Got told Parking is included no extra charges, leave the hotel and boom extra charges on my account.
Called the hotel to work it out with them and they hung up on me.
Bit disappointed. Checked in as a Platinum member of IHG and wasn't recognised. No resturant or Breakfast bar open to guests. (Only open for a special function). Car park is in another Block away from hotel. I stay in IHG hotels all over Australia and this experience has been the worst to date.
Really nice place to live in Sydney. We booked the place for the weekend and were really impressed with the rooms and value for money considering they are located in Darling Harbour. Only drawback is they don't have their own parking though they do have some value deals for parking in a parking place nearby.
If you are going out for a night in the town I suggest you book here and support these guys.
