Hoi An Vietnamese reviews
58 If you are on the central coast and feel like a bowl of pho and don’t feel Ike a drive into Cabramatta or Bankstown, this place is the closest you will get.
The location is right in the heart of Terrigal with a great balcony.
The restaurant is upstairs with no street frontage and a dated stereotypical fitout.looks like a 70 year old Aussie with memories of his time in Asia was responsible for the design and decor. Would be appealing to the same cohort.
I can only comment on the rare beef pho.
The flavour was far from authentic and lacked the standard ingredients that you would find throughout Sydney’s Vietnamese restaurants.
Staff are friendly and welcoming and are obviously trying.
I would suggest simplifying a very complex menu and focus on a few dishes and do them well.
I had chicken satay skewers, they were great. San Choy Bow was tiny but tasty. The vermicelli chicken salad was not the best I've had but ok. The Bamboo Chili Beef was great but wasn't hot when served and was cold by the time we finished it. The servers were friendly and quick but our meals came out very far apart so one of the entree dishes was almost finished before the second came out. This irks me that they don't care to present food at the same time. The atmosphere was fun and everyone was friendly.
Went for dinner last night with a group of friends. Vince, the manager was attentive and customer focussed. Drinks ordered promptly and made feel welcome from the onset.we all had drinks, entree and main.
Food was excellent. I could not fault it. All others at the table agreed their meals were outstanding. Fresh, flavoursome and cooked to perfection.
It was also great to hear the manager recommending other local terrigal restaurants and speaking highly of them S well. There was no competitiveness only compliment for what was available locally. Very positive!
Overall great food, great friendly service and A good price. Highly recommended.
New owners, genuine Vietnamese food, chef from Vietnam, owner and staff are passionate about the food and service. Great food, great value for money.
Best Asian food on the coast, highly recommended. Great service and well priced quality food
My partner and I very much enjoyed our meal and drinks here. The service was fabulous and loved having a chat to the staff after our meal. Would definitely recommend
Great food, good service, good price. Lovely atmosphere. Sit outside on the terrace if the weather is good.
Popped in for a late lunch. Food was amazing. Super fresh,
Vietnamese pancake, tamarind prawns, fried rice, prawn dumplings, chicken san Choi bow, and spicy prawn San Choi bow.
All bang on, quick turn around. Well priced. Young chef, but well versed and trained in the art of the great Viet cuisine. Menu has rotating specials so will be back.
My family and I went to Hoi An Terrigal for a birthday and we had a great time. It is reasonably priced with good quality food and the customer service is great. Would definitely recommend.
Rated for Thai food dine in or take away
We’ve had good dine in experiences. We’ve had good takeaway. Food is generally tasty and food quality good. However I rank 3 stars compared to other options, like In Style Thai in Wambie. The elephant in the room is value for money. Portion sizes for most dishes is tiny and they are expensive. Smart business owner but hungry clients. Portion sizes are literally double and just as tasty at alternatives.
Try, you can have a great meal, you’ll pay for it and may be frustrated with quantities. I note this is not consistent across all dishes.
Was amazing food and by far the best i had in terrigal, service was friendly and very quick. Will recommend to anyone who goes to Terrigal and will definitely visit again.
It was really terrible restaurant!
Over price, disgusting foods i have never eaten before.
I left most of the rice noodle soup.
Please don't go to this restaurant
Excellent food and service. Used the toilet afterwards, it was disgusting, if I had realised how bad the toilets were, I would have gone to a different restaurant. It certainly makes you wonder what the kitchen is like in the restaurant. Would not use again
One of the best Vietnamese meals we’ve had for a long time. The best rice paper rolls. Good/friendly staff - a lovely Hoi An feel about the restaurant. If I was staying longer in Terrigal I’d definitely be going back.
The manager Vince was very welcoming and hospitable to our group of 10. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Underwhelming.
After being seated, we were told to wait as there were short on food menus. After about 10 mins had to again ask for the menu.
The spring rolls arrived quick and they were the best part of the whole meal. Mains took nearly half an hour to arrive.
Fried rice ok, Yellow curry sweetish - Tofu was very chewy.
Pad Thai was the Worst - almost it seemed it had sugar syrup in it.
I have eaten all these dishes in a Thai restaurant many times but first time in Vietnamese, not sure if they are meant to be sweet. I will going back to a Thai place.
I had mentioned to the manager that it is my first time at a Vietnamese place but she did not bother to ask in the end, how the food was or anything else.
Positive part is location is good. Food seemed freshly cooked.
Had a lovely evening catching up with a couple of mates I haven't seen in a long time. I asked if we could be moved to a larger table, no problem on a busy Saturday night. Food excellent, wines at an excellent price, good friendly service. Kicking myself for waiting so long to go here and will definitely go back soon. Nice to meet the owner who is a good friend of mine also. Thanks!
Beautiful food staff were pleasant and well priced only issue I had was the owners children and another patrons child running around playing hide and seak went to enjoy a nice meal not feel like I was in a play centre.
Friendly staff, amazing foods, great for family.
Very impress with new menu just come up this week.
First time I come to Terrigal, walk in Hoi An Restaurant without knowing that we have to book first ask for table for 6 people but greeting by rude and unprofessional receptionist said that restaurant full and no explanation.
Later, we want to take away foods, call 3 times to the restaurant but no one answer. Then 15 minutes later call back to me with different numbers
Very disappointed The Hoi An Restaurant!
