Hirondelle Private Hospital

No wonder it is temporarily closed. Had a terrible experience here, 2 years ago, some staff great others not and the physio has caused me life long issues due to incompetence with a staff member not understanding the needs of the patient! The kitchen staff were terrific!

Experience was extremely positive all staff excellent with some really going above and beyond.
One particular member of the nursing staff Sister Punam when I was having issues with falling blood pressure knowing I was distressed called into my room to check I was OK when I had a rapid blood pressure fall and I passed out Sister Punam took control got other nursing staff to my side quickly got me back from my pass out state and back in my bed. If Sister Punam had not been there I might have been on the floor tell someone went buy.
All in all all staff excellent and caring from my doctor Dr Vaseem through all the nursing and physio staff and single out Sister Punam

I have nothing but praise for the care I have received in Hirondelle. All of the staff are professional and all of my needs have been addressed

My wife was admitted in Hirondelle hospital in June 2022 after operation and discharge from RNSH. I would like to specially mention here that I and my whole family were very much impressed after seeing the arrangement regarding room cleanliness, staff help, food, service and proper care during her stay in hospital until the end of July 2022. On behalf of my wife and my entire family, from the bottom of my heart, I just wanted to thank all the doctors, nurses and the hospital staff who treated my wife. I want to thank Dr. Ni who was examining and giving frequent advice to my wife during her stay in the hospital. This was quite beneficial for improvement of her health. I am really grateful to him for his help and assistance provided. Special mention also to physiotherapist Mr. Ken, nurses and sisters -Ms. Punam, Ms. Thuy, Ms. Rachael and Ms. Sue. We are fortunate to have such dedicated, professional and kind-hearted staff members in Hirondelle hospital in Sydney. Please keep up your good work, team. I have no words to express for their calm, helping and comforting manner. The staff kept coming back to check on my wife or stopping in for a chat and I really appreciated their attention – so much so that my wife got quite emotional before getting discharged from the hospital. She was so comfortable and well cared for like a family! All the medical staff who came to her room with information, or medicine (day or night) were amazing too. Your entire team is doing an amazing job and you should be proud of that. May God bless you. Highly recommend.

If you are in the process of choosing a rehabilitation hospital for any type of orthopaedic surgery recovery I hope you take the time to read my lengthy review.

Smack bang in the middle of the NSW Covid peak I managed to suffer a severe leg injury. After surgery at a major Sydney hospital I was transported to Hirondelle Private Hospital to begin my long rehabilitation. And I'll explain why Hirondelle deserves this 5 Star Review.
Nestled in a leafy Chatswood street it looks like a lovely stately home, not at all like a hospital. So feeling a bit sore and sorry for myself, I was stretchered from the Ambulance into the hospital.and. Wow.instantly I felt relief and knew that I was in the right place for my rehab. The staff immediately made me feel welcome and I could actually feel their care and concern for me.
A lovely single room with a leafy outlook was to be my home for the next 7 weeks and because no visitors possible due to Covid restrictions the staff quickly became my defacto family.
The care is second to none. A holistic approach that focuses on your entire health rather than just on your specific injury. A well equipped rehab gym with amazing physio professionals started me on my journey to learn to walk again. The kitchen staff provided a menu each day offering a choice of very nice food appropriate to each patient's dietary needs. Admin staff seamlessly took control of all the "paperwork" needed in dealing with health funds etc meaning one less thing to worry about. An individualised Care Plan is decided upon with full consultation and reviewed at regular intervals by your doctor and physio team. My doctor there was absolutely lovely and filled me with the confidence I was in safe hands.

I'm saving the best for last.the Nursing staff. Absolute Heroes. Angels in crepe soled shoes. Attentive, respectful, professional, caring. I cannot thank them enough. I felt at peace in their care. Despite all the worries and challenges I felt around my injury, the Nurses allowed me to feel safe and concentrate on my recovery. I cannot praise them highly enough. If you or a loved one need to know that you are in the best possible hands during rehabilitation I can honestly attest you will not find a better place than Hirondelle.

If any staff read this just know that you not only helped me in my recovery, but you left me with a positive outlook for my future.
My injury was a life changing experience. I thought that change was going to be negative.and while I still have challenges ahead I realise that Hirondelle Nurses changed my life for the better. They made me feel safe.

Good food, attentive, caring, respectful Nursing staff. Including in family meetings and case conferences for person and family centred care. Great physio and OT, all open to suggestions and ideas. Responsive med team. Great reception and Discharge planning staff. Clean and hygienic. Highly recommend.

I am giving four stars mainly due to the facilities, professional caring staff and physio team.
I would have given five if it were not for the management's unnecessary therapy pool closures.
The are too many excellent staff to mention individually, but I must say that the wonderful care I received from the nurse Punam was beyond compare.

Most unorganised rehabilitation center ever staff are rude they leave patients in serious pain without the proper treatment staff don't communicate with each other there answer to every old person is put them in a nursing home instead of helping them

Poor infection control.
Lots of bullies in this place, especially Rosemary! She thinks she’s the boss, but she’s just a ward clerk! Typical old grumpy granny!

Stay away from this place, you won’t get much improvement. No structural management, very messy organisational procedures!

The reception Helen is utterly rude. I can't believe how bad her attitude was. I cannot imagine the attitude they have for those patients.

She was screaming on the phone 'STOP STOP STOP STOP' while I was talking. When I asked her if there is a patient in her hospital by name XXX, she started laughing so loudly in a very sarcastic way 'I have more than 50 patients'. I understand there are lots of patients in the hospital, however isn't this her job to manage the patient database?

It's 2021, if you have rudeness at work, change another job Helen. No need to be here.

Very disappointing rehab experience. Lack of commumication between staff members, poor hygiene practices, too keen on clerical matters. Very noisy and after 18 days felt like. I was in an asylum!

I was involved in an accident and had 2 weeks of rehabilitation at Hirondelle. The nursing staff were kind and caring, the physio and OT staff were efficient and got me back on my feet ahead of schedule, my Dr visited regularly, was on top of my case and most of all had time for me. I would not hesitate to recommend rehabilitation at Hirondelle.

After several years of traumatic injuries I was blessed when the Hirondelle Private
Hospital introduced their day patient service for Hydrotherapy rehabititation sessions.

This programme has been a God-send to me, at last giving me so much relief.

The wonderful Hirondelle staff cannot do enough to encourage and assist me and the other patients.

Nursing and Rehabilitation services provided by Hirondelle are outstanding. I recently had a Total Knee Replacement and underwent rehabilitation at Hirondelle. I cannot speak highly enough about the care I received. The physio's provided excellent therapy in both the hydrotherapy pool and Gym.which have undergone complete renovation. The nurses are kind and knowledgeable, providing skilled attentive care. Thank you for helping my recovery.

After operation my both knees I went to this place for rehabilitation and I had a greater experience. The service was great, tho food was wonderful and physio staff knew what they are supposed to do. I'll recommend this place to everyone. Thank you all.

I have been a patient several times at Hirondelle, all before the extensive and excellent renovations, recently completed. It's the ideal rehab, not only because of the excellent staff and wonderful facilities, but because of its size and central location. Well trained Physios are encouraging and empathetic, meals are varied and appetising. I recall meeting kitchen staff on my first visit, still there when I visited years later.this speaks volumes! All important too is the follow up treatment, after one returns home, and visits as an outpatient.

Forthose who miss their cappuccinos, I gather there is a coffee truck, now, that makes regular visits, with various drinks and other goodies available too.

I strongly recommend Hirondelle.
