Matt & I are so grateful we stumbled across a genuine guy named Toby who runs his own building business named Highwater Homes. His attention to detail was unlike anyone elses and he read through our many documents and drawings and did everything he could to deliver a smooth process for us. There are always going to be ups and downs during a build, but Toby always made sure he was across everything and fixed anything along the way that needed to be fixed. When we had our external building inspection we were told its one of the best quality builds they have ever inspected. My wife and I had been preparing to build our dream custom home for a few years. We originally met with a number of builders but from the first day we met Toby were very impressed with his integrity and communication. We have been in the Camden area for some time and have often met people who have built or work with Toby with overwhelming positive feedback. He showed us a house they had made for clients (not display) and his workmanship is impeccable. For our forever home we wanted to make sure we had a smooth process with a quality product. Both Toby and Elizabeth did not disappoint. They were accomodating the whole process and guided us through each step keeping us up to date. No query was too difficult and their calm and organised demeanour and work manner is reassuring, taking away a lot of the stress of building. Our completed house is beyond what we could have hoped for and absolutely stunning. It really is a home to love and has been built with care.

For our new home, I first contacted Toby Searle after reading in the 2018 issue of Top Homes magazine that a number of Highwater Homes projects had been recognised in the Housing Industry Association’s (HIA) annual awards. During our initial discussion, Toby’s considered manner and ‘can do’ attitude in discussing with me various requirements for a desired custom home I had sketched, was not only reassuring but aligned with a recommendation of high quality work by his company that was offered to me by an architectural designer with experience in the Macarthur area.

My expectations for a great building experience were comprehensively over-delivered. In particular, I was extremely satisfied with the integration of my design requirements – and numerous suggested improvements - into the build. There was excellent cost containment with no surprise cost additions along the way, and the collective attitude of the builders and trades people on site when I visited was always welcoming.

From the very first meeting with Toby we were impressed with both his professionalism and attention to detail. While we were still in the final stages of our design, Toby provided some input into our design from a builders perspective which have proven to be very useful and practical additions to our home.

Toby and Elizabeth’s communication is excellent, and we were always kept up to date with all aspects of our build through the Co-construct software; an invaluable tool to keep an accurate record of all communication and expenses. Once Highwater Homes finished building our house and handed over the keys, Rob said to me, “I want to build another one”. While we were more than happy to move into our brand-new house that we had been planning for 18 years, we were sorry to say good bye to the building experience, because it was so much fun. It was the first house that we have built, and we expected that it would be painful because that’s what your regularly hear from people who have contracted builders to build their new home. But it was nothing but a pleasurable experience for us. The co-construct website meant that we always knew what was going on and where the build was up to. It made all the financial side of things transparent and all modifications we made along the way were accounted for. Toby is a calm person who is regularly present on the build and he is always contactable. As we lived on the property, we saw how punctual, professional and hardworking all the trades were.
