Great service and good price especially when renovating and you need to match similar items

If you live in an older house the chances are you will find a lot of stuff here new and reclaimed to buy. They carry a huge range of materials, doors, lights, locks and so on for older homes and if you want to restore an old house to its former glory you will find a lot of stuff here to do so.

I phoned in for some stuff and they were super helpful and had everything delivered in very quick timelines. Prices were also quite reasonable compared to many other shops and delivery was promptly organized. You can always browse online or just pop into their shop which looks small from the outside but lots of stuff inside.

A great place for finding little gems for restoring your older house.

I ordered a door online on the 16/4. The website states they will contact me within one business day to arrange shipment. I understand it was an Easter long weekend. That would mean I should have been contacted on the Tuesday 19/4. I was not. I phoned on the 27th and was assured it would be shipped that day. It was not. I phoned again on the 29th and was assured it would be shipped again on that day. It has not. My emails are being ignored and the phone not being answered. I need this door for booked in trades and feel this is the only way I will get this door or a response.

I have been told every day since Wednesday last week it will be delivered. I am told by Ron “the manager” that he is the highest person to escalate this to. States does not have a superior. States he also does not own the business. It doesn’t take much intelligence to know this isn’t right. He states he will refund the order rather than have me escalate. He will not take accountability. I do not have time to source another door since it has been delayed for so long. I have been given a fake tracking number. He states he promises. But every day he promises and cannot explain how today is different. He is argumentative, condescending, will not allow me to talk without interrupting and is down right aggressive. Buyer beware. This company is an absolute joke. They clearly need to find a new manager who is customer orientated, can manage a team and is reliable.

Door was apparently shipped on the 3/5 for delivery on 4/5 as verbally “promised” by the manager Ron. My escalations have been ignored and I have requested a refund of the delivery fee as delivery has not occurred in the expected time frame. Yet to hear a response.

Purchased hinges and impressed with the quality and delivery was very prompt. Would highly recommend.

Really well made fire shovel, It is just what I need to clean my chickens coop. It came well packed and on time will be using this site again.

Do not give them any business, the guy names Bill will give you an attitude even just over the phone for an inquiry. They have badly fail on the first impression just over a phone call for inquiry, imagine what it will like to meet them in person. I ended up give my business to someone that listen to your needs and much more affordable than them by 30%.

Purchased a lock on 30/May/2021, I followed it up after about 10 days and I was told that it will dispatched tomorrow.
Today (18/June/2021) I rang them again, surprisingly still they haven't dispatch it! They told me that it will dispatch on Monday (really?), exactly similar to my first follow up.
I won't deal with them again since they are not honest with their client and I can not trust if they have an item in stock or not. I am not interested to pay today and wait forever to see my item!

I recently bought a few pieces of door hardware from Heritage Building Centre. I asked them for recommended products to suit my building requirements as I was no door expert. They happily sold me some locks and handles. Then when my builder was meant to be installing them he discovered that they had provided me with the parts that did not work together - wrong size handle and mortice. I then requested a refund of which they then expected me to send it back to their shop at my cost and have no longer been responsive on email. A very disappointing experience and I will not be recommending them.

Heritage Building Centre exceeded my expectations on everything. I purchased a fireplace from them and I just love it. Adds so much atmosphere to my lounge room. Also, I drove out there and unfortunately it did not fit in my car. They were so lovely and delivered it themselves that afternoon (45 minute drive) without charging me. Great old fashioned service. Would highly recommend!

We called prior to ordering and were told they had stock and 5 days to be delivered. We placed the order. 8 days later we were told, it will be here tomorrow and delivered the next day. 11 days later we are told, "we are still waiting for it to arrive in our warehouse". Every update has either been incorrect or a lie. Still don't have the order and no idea if it will ever come. These guys are overpriced and lie about availability & delivery times. Don't do it to yourself - find somewhere better to get your supplies. (Not worth a single star but you can't post a comment with zero stars!)

Supercilious people, overpriced stock, and a 'customer is always wrong' approach. Bit of a shame really.

Had a horrible experience with this shop. Bought 2 very expensive chandliers and they were delivered with broken parts. When i called for replacement they demanded that I had to come to the shop and pick up the replacement, so i had to deliver the broken chandlier back to them and collected the new one (they are all very heavy). The new one had a piece of crystal missing (again), i am amazed at how careless and reckless these people can be. I demanded that they deliver the missing piece of crystal, after a few phone calls and emails, and photos sent back and forth, they threw in my mailbox a piece of white plastic resembling crystal with cheap metal ring that does not match the chandlier in any way. The guy in charge was called Ron, absolutely not helpful, very grumpy and lazy. I am still sorting out the mess with this shop and i dont know when i can get my crystal. I strongly recommend you to stay away from this shop to avoid the potential trouble and horrible service that would ruin your wallet as well as your sanity.

They are running on old name. There is nothing old there, everything is brand new, looks old. Very disappointing, what's the point of the shop any more.

We recently purchased a Cuisine 68 x 48 Inset / Undermount Fine Fireclay Sink. It was damaged in transit however we were really impressed by how quickly we received a replacement.

I ordered the DC Dimplex Kenton Fireplace and absolutely love it. The team were great at responding to my email and the product arrived in perfect condition.

Huge number of low quality doors (better ones $500-600 for a set of 2-4), stock doesn't move so they're trying to get rid of them. Maybe lowball these if you need some random timber to repurpose. A few stained glass panels, mostly small. Some wrought iron though mostly simple and non-decorative. Many small ornaments and unattractive tiles. Overpriced furniture ($1500 table) in small quantity, some stuff imported from Indonesia. Some new antique style fittings and lighting for restorations. Great place to drop dosh if you're all set to do up your retro inner city terrace, or are really looking for a set of 6m high church doors in middling condition ($3000). Strong collection of recycled floorboards in 10+ types of timber, but smallish quantities (would recommend Ironwood/Swadlings at Sydenham instead for quantity). If you're not doing a terrace or period pad, then not really worth the trip. If you are, it's probably a gem.

I purchased 5 “plaster” vents from this store. I went to the counter and the man was so engrossed in his computer I had to say hello loudly before he turned around (even though there’s a bell when anyone enters) and claimed he didn’t realise I was there. When I arrived home I realised the vents were too small. I checked the return policy and it states refunds will not be given for change of mind but no other terms. When I returned I was told I would get a refund less 15% for a “restocking fee” that was not stated on any documentation or sign. All they needed to do was return them to their shelf out the back- all were still in the box. Would not recommend going here at all. Staff were not helpful, prices were 40% more expensive than other shops and then the final straw of a restocking fee. OH AND the vents weren’t even solid plaster they were foam!

Quite expensive and didn't rate the service. Most of their stuff is from Schots so you can buy cheaper from them online. Some great gates but be prepared to pay.
