EMDR with exceptional Trauma Therapist, Rod Cooper, at Tamworth Healthwise has saved my life. More than five decades carrying the devastating impacts of child abuse had severely compromised both my mental and physical health due to the festering unresolved trauma. Despite consulting countless mainstream (including multiple Psychiatrists, Psychologists, General Practitioners, Medical Specialists of multiple disciplines, Mental Health Social Workers etc) every aspect of my quality of life was adversely impacted and extremely compromised. Rod was the first trauma informed person willing to unconditionally validate me and be the witness as he used the powerful therapy of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) to directly work on my subconscious brain to release the trauma. Personally I continue to have high ongoing medical costs to sustain my physical functioning. However the miraculous EMDR therapy at Healthwise has relieved the Government of the exorbitant medical costs by counteracting the tens of thousands of dollars previously spent by them on ambulance trips (more than 30), Epipens or Adrenaline administered by Paramedics/Medical staff (more than 40 events) Emergency Hospital presentations to be resuscitated from Anaphylaxis (more than 40), stays in High Dependency Unit and Hospital (for up to 5 days) for severe adverse complex physical health issues.multiple times.
