headspace Parramatta reviews
11My primary school child had a fantastic experience with Headspace Parramatta treating their anxiety and depression. Years later, they still have the therapist they met at Headspace
I have been wanting to leave a review for Headspace Parramatta for a long time.
My brother has been assisted by an incredible team of social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists and more. He has been treated for Bipolar Disorder and Anxiety.
The communication system they have it's really good, they will follow up appointments and will send reminders via text and messages. I witnessed improvement in my brother's mental health during these 3 months (he has never missed any appointments). Dealing with such great professionals has been a pleasure.
The help and support he has found here has been incredible.
Thanks for helping the community.
Regards,
Denesse.
My daughter was referred by Westmead children's hospital
as they have a Psychosis team.
The Receptionist have always been nice & Respectful. Before our appointments I have always gotten a phone call to remind me of the appointment or just to make sure my daughter can make it. The too Gentleman who we have been seeing are Quite nice & know what they are taking about. My daughter isn't very comfortable with anybody.
At the moment she likes he's too as her counsellor's.
The only thing they have forgotten is to send a email to me & her School stating what days she goes to see them. The school has told me they what a letter from them. Other than that, it's all good.
I came in wanting to see a psychiatrist as I’ve seen multiple counsellor’s and psychologist and they haven’t been able to help me. They’re reception we’re very rude as I felt like they were just trying to waist my time. I said I wanted to receive an intake to see a psychiatrist basically it took an hour just to book an intake in. Then I had to rebook an intake phone call appointment 3 times because each time they said they were gonna call me at a specific time they didn’t they ended up calling me 10-15 min later and once I saw their missed call I called back a minute later and they told me they had to rebook my intake call for 2 weeks later. So basically I’ve been trying to receive a intake call for over a month and 2 weeks now. And when I tried to call headspace Parramatta the receptionist (Buddha), put me on hold and then hung up on me.
Very incompetent and rude. For a free mental health service to help the community the receptions behaviour is disgusting.
Not a positive experience. I never felt supported by staff and it took over a year to suspend their services - they didn’t believe I had moved to Taree and kept forcing appointments on me for over a year. The gaslighting was just too much.
The GP and the other doctor are really good. My counselor was my lifeline, she did not give up on me. She stayed in touch with me, talked to me about my options and got me all the help that I needed. I learned so much. She made me realise that I was a normal person, and there was nothing wrong with me. They helped me get through year 12 which was the hardest.thankyou for believing in me.and for calling me when I was too sad to answer the phone.thanks to everhyone for being so nice and helpful
Twelve months of constant bureaucratic wrangling in which time my child only had one session. They don't take the initiative to call anyone. The only reason I didn't give less is that I know they are trying to help and offer a service to the people of Parramatta
I was seeing a psychologist then her work placement at the place ended and now they have no psychologist there and now I have to go somewhere because of a long waiting list that can take 6 months I'm not happy with this at all.
I was referred to Psychologist, I dont think they know how to look after the well-being of a scapegoat child being raised by a narcissistic mother. Understand is a challenging situation but they seemed more focused on keeping my relationship with my very toxic mother and abusive brother than supporting my well being and mental health, I am an extremely vulnerable youth who is going to face alot of difficulties mentally as I am not only bullied shamed and blamed at home, I am compared to my perfect brother since I can remember. Headspace had no real answers or strategies, except to meditate, use mindfulness, medicate, numb, and control my own behaviour, to be told not reacting to the abuse and put downs is a solution broke my heart and future hopes of a normal life: (
The experience and professionalism of practitioners is questionable.
I attended headspace for approximately 6 months and found no real improvement in my mental health, found that they took measures of my mental health but practitioners didnt really refer to this. They also terminated our sessions when I was going through a major crisis. Really horrible experience, definitely would not recommend sadly.
