Hayden's Pies reviews
57 Well, what a surprise! Or actually not
The pies absolutely deserve the 2023 vote of best pies in NSW. Been pie-ing around for 20+ yrs now, started with his mum and sister and certainly still going strong. No doubt because of the amazing pies served up from 6am and selling over 3000 PER DAY Good on ya!
Visiting for a week we have been back repeatedly for the Franzini pies but thoroughly enjoying the others. (Sadly I missed out on the Wild Boar pies).
We order our pies, sit back and observed the parking and the shop.
Wow, the parking is a consistent flow of cars, SUVs, tradies utes, you name it, slipping in and out of parking spots with such ease. All being totally understanding that they don't have to push and shove or be rude and unkind, because Hayden has got them covered, he has ensured they will all get their pick of the pies of their desire
Inside the shop all are very happy to que up to get their slice of pie Some holiday makers pop in for their last serving and a bag of take home pies.
Some choosing to instead have their family pies for dinner
But remember, they have an awesome selection of sweets too, and I'm pleased to say, not your run of the mill sweets either.
Congratulations and well done. I'll be in tomorrow again
It's hard to find a well executed pie shop that blends quality, cost, moist but crispy pastry and a huge selection but Hayden's nails them all. Screw Rick Stein, come get your laughing gear around one of these bad boys, you won't be disappointed in this true to heart pie shop.
Not many places do chunky steak varieties where here they not only do chunky steak but they nail it as well
Bonus was the caramel slice, max caramel, not overdone on the chocolate, perfect.
I now know why they win so many awards. Absolutely delicious pies. Great service even when they're busy which is always
All of their pies are so delicious, and there's just so many unique flavors. We enjoyed the chicken/bacon/cheese, as well as the butter chicken (the most popular) and the Thai green curry. You really can't go wrong with any flavor.
There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Desserts and pastries to choose from, too.
My partner says ‘The best pie I ever had and I’ve had many pies’
It was amazing. Clearly, it’s popular because it was so busy. Loved the goat curry pie.
An experience to remember. A great range of quality pies, highly trained and organised staff, competitive prices, and convenient parking. You won't be sorry. Enjoy!
I heard a few people walking around town mentioning this pie place so I thought I'd check it out. Pretty good pies I'd say. I mean I got the honey roasted pumpkin with feta for something different. It was a little sweet but I mean I ate it all so it was tasty. I'd stop by again if I was passing thru town. Plenty of options available too for all the pie lovers. Freshly cooked.
Excellent Pies!
From pastry to filling, the ingredients were fresh and cooked perfectly.
Great gluten free options!
Apple rhubarb pie review. This place is busier than a church at Christmas (or is it Easter? Whatevs). The one dessert pie comes out hot enough to fry skin on contact, which is no drawback. The big plus is the puff pastry on the top, contrasting the short crust base. A very sophisticated choice, made only by someone who knows their pies, and appreciates contrast. It would be a 5* experience except for the filling; a veritable apple and rhubarb puree. It's harder to handle than a greased up pig in a mosque. The base can't cope and crumbles into the soup. It's all quite yummy. But if you're driving, the next call is to your insurer.
Delicious pies with a wide variety of different flavours to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend for a meal or a snack
The shop is very diverse with a wide variety of meat pies at reasonable prices. It's good to have for breakfast.
I like a good pie and generally try them where ever I visit. Rest assured that Hayden's are the best pies around. They are very flavoursome, well made with great fillings, and are definitely a quality product. I can thoroughly recommend them.
I enjoyed two pies, chunky beef and mushroom, also the chicken, leak, mustard and blue cheese. Both were excellent, best pies I’ve had for a while. The staff were very polite and abided by COVID guidelines. You have my recommendation.
I ordered a pre-made ham salad roll.
BIG MISTAKE!
It wasn't even buttered, and was quite a nice large bun, so needed to be.
It could also have had a tad more meat.
Simply the best pies in town, and at least the equal of any I have tasted. Love the quirky specials such as'woolly jumper' (lamb and kangaroo) or 'coat of arms' (kangaroo and emu). They also do family pies which you can take away and reheat.
Delicious pies and amazing sausage rolls. Flakes buttery pastry and all things that give you joy. Surprise standouts are the butter chicken pie with mint yoghurt, spinach and mushroom pie and the savoury pumpkin pie. They also have a daily special which quite often is the goods.
Nice fluffy pastry with alot varieties of stuffing tried crocodile meat
Butter chicken with yogurt pie of of my top choice
The chicken asparagus and gorgonzola pie was so good that I cried. Didn't know what my life was missing until I tried it.
Going to Hayden's Pies is without a doubt one of my favourite parts of going down the south coast, can't recommend them enough for all lovers of food?
Wow. The pies really lived up to its reputation. Great selection and loved all those we tried. We came here twice during our short stay in Ulladulla as we like the food here so much.
GREAT pie shop. I cannot believe they are hardly heard of. I used to live in Batemans Bay but would drive 45 mins each way for these pies! Should have a government warning as they are THAT addictive.
