Hat Head National Park reviews
32A beautiful lagoon as well as a beach, and also includes a bush walk for those experienced bush walkers, great snorkelling, and also for those whom have a boat, there is a ramp to take it out, also camping grounds, not sure of the prices.
What a spectacular view with clear blue water and white coves and beaches. The walk around Hat Head is a challenging one and takes about 2 hours so take plenty of water but it's worth the walk I promise. Stop enjoy the wonderful breezes from the cliffs and gaze in the endless blue skies and water where they meet. Empty toys mind and enjoy your walk.
Beautiful scenery with lots of flora & fauna. Some hiking that's well worth completing
Love, love, love this place!
Please see the updated review written by me previously, for details.
Lots of bush walking spots and safe trails for all experienced people. Can be hilly in some spots and may be hard shortly after rain but you can find awesome beaches and hidden spots if you’re keen to explore!
Great spot bern here 4 times in 2 years very quiet area fishing is great and plenty of dolphins the water is so clean there is a look out in walking distance from the park walking over a small bridge we were here in May 2022 we took our binoculars and saw lots of whales and dolphins you can also drive to this place there are Kangaroos around the look out worth the stay
What great spot, we swam at the beach in the morning and then in the afternoon we swam in the creek, did get a few midgie bites but didn't worry me too much, other guests happy to have a chat, can't wait for our next visit
Great place for a day out, a swim, or even if you want to stay in the Holiday Park in a tent or cabin.
Great swimming.
Great fishing.
Great walking tracks through diverse habitat. If you can brave the leeches the rock formations near the creeks are a great spot for ferns, fungi, orchids and other forbs!
What a beautiful place to visit. Going back again soon to enjoy the best of the beach and the crystal clear water and the bush with amazing wildlife.
Really good caravan park, next to beach, river, bridge. Great walks next to river, and park has great vacilities. Love the river walk and swimming areas. Park next to bowling club, good for meals.very spacious grounds.great for kids too.
Such a beautiful place! Really nice caravan park with great spots along the river. Good spot for fishing, kayaking or just hiking around.
Hat Head
It looks like a statue, the head is clearly visable
with outline of hair, nose and mouth, eye is hard to see.
Captain cook site as well, maybe they were really aliens
and invaded Earth, took over and wiped peoples minds
A quieter National Park to visit we visited Gap Beach and stayed at Hungry Gate Campground. Gap beach was brilliant and the walk there descends through a palm forest with views to the ocean. Hungry Gate has lots of wildlife and giant sand dunes right next door! We went for a nightwalk to the beach too and were told occasionally sea snakes wash up (do not touch them though!) bring cash for the campground, well worth the spot!

This is one of the best places to see whales you will find, I counted 26 individual whales in 20minutes one day.
Really well maintained camping grounds and roads. We encountered a knowledgeable and helpful Ranger
Beautiful SPOT.
Walking trails.views forever. Amazing beaches, surf, fish8ng and safe creek for kids
Very beautiful, untouched nature. The coastline is wild, treacherous and unforgiving but wildlife thrives here.
Amazing, floating in and out of the lagoon with the tide while snorkelling looking at the huge fish swimming underneath you is just out of this world great. Highly recommend you get down to this place. Come early though as its hard to get a park
