Hartley Historic Village reviews
39 This is a great place to stop over & look around & do short or long hikes.
Plenty of parking & toilets available on site.
Hartley Historic Village is a quaint little place which once was a busy stop over on the route between Sydney and Bathurst. But then the railways and the Great Western Highway created a detour & the little village started to decline. Still standing sentinel to it good times are a number of old historic buildings. The views from the top of the Key Y Anh (I think it's spelt that way) are breath taking. The information centre is in one of these old buildings and houses an interesting and small museum & art gallery. It's an interesting place to visit if you are in the area.
Built in the 1800's. Information centre, Goal, Inn, homes, churches. Air Bnbs in village and the Hartley valley. Central location for sight seeing the surround townships etc
Great historical spot. Beautiful to look around. Visited Talisman gallery also, and bought a beautiful silver ring. Shame that the cafe is closed. Another covid casualty. Hopefully it can open again.
Shamrock Inn needs roof repair ASAP, other than that I love the memory of Hartley from times past. Please look after it. IW.
Not much to see here at the moment due to #Conoravirus {COVID19}. Just only the Information centre & post office next store. Within the Information centre there is a gallery of Aboriginal art work {and lamented photos for sale}. Photos are not allowed to be taken {with your camera} in the gallery - I wasn't thinking of taking any photos of art work anyway. They didn't ask me to surrender my device (s). Likely worth an extra 3 stars once everything there is allowed to run as before COVID lockdowns began?
Such a beautiful place to have a walk around, see a bit of history and enjoy the beautiful views
Very interesting!

We just christened our daughter at the church in the Hartley historic village. Beautiful church in a great little village
Really interesting little place to visit. Made friends with 2 blue tongues on the self guided tours
Soaked in history great little spot to learn about aussie heritage colonial times of yesteryear, have regular events on here throughout the year and ghost tours of a night time, or great as a stop off whilst driving to crab a coffee from the cafe
Would recommend visiting in the morning, its beautiful there. The church was interesting, learnt a few new things. The jail was small for 35 grown men, and it hurt while sitting down. Some interesting facts.
Very cute historic site. Beautiful landscape around this place. We went there as the sun set, it was breath-taking.
A beautiful town that has been restored to show its little charm. Worth a visit to see the old town
Sadly this wonderful historic site is now charging a flat fee $8 per person to visit courthouse. Have been here before with children over years. National Parks person was a bit short about pricing. Enjoyed walking around from outside but won't bother stopping again.
Great experience but would have liked to be able to grab a hot drink. Historic site very interesting.
After a long hold up short of Blackheath due to a huge truck accident desperately needed a good coffee and found it here
Beautiful scenery, nice place to stop on your trip, cafe's, Lilly shop and of course the Talisman Gallery is a must.
