Hare Krishna Retreat reviews
6A beautiful place, 5 star food, lovely people. It's my go to retreat! Their workshops are also top value. Highly recommended if you enjoy nature, vegetarian food and a quiet environment.
My Dear friend Daphne Maidment WHO WAS RESIDENT TO MURWILLAMBA and MYSELF A NURSE IN MOOLOOLABA QLD. ORIGINALY from Rotorua VISITED this Farm Retreat and Temple most Sundays as visitors.
We Attended Prayers Music Dancing Kirtan in the Temple then Enjoyed the Company of members and other Visitors with a FREE Sunday Feast SERVED to all GREAT COMPANY'. GREAT FOOD
To be honest, i woukd like a refund for my stay.
I was promised a dinner and breakfast and yet i was refused service, due to my cultural dress.
Although we tried to enjoy the place and Indian food, but our accommodation was terrible and disgusting. The cabin we stayed was not ready when we got there. It took nearly two hours to call the manager, changing the linen and clean up the cabin. The toilet was composting type and was nightmare for kids. Our bed smelling awful terribly. We slept with kids on their beds. Worst accommodation we ever had.
We stayed for a week at the Krishna village doing Karma yoga, this means that we worked at the farm for 20 hours a week for 4 days and had 3 days off, the work was very rewarding yet physical, helping in the lush gardens and cooking in the kitchen. We did not expect a lot before our stay and wanted to keep an open mind. We did not know a lot about Hare Krishna Philosophy.
We took full advantage of all of the teachings by the devotees, practised yoga daily and fully immersed ourselves in this beautiful safe environment.
Life is simple here and basic needs are met, it is not a luxury resort by any means. It is a wonderful place to let go of material things and live in a natural pure way. The people are kind, happy and generous. We found it a beautiful introduction to Hare Krishna way of living.
We stayed in one of the cabins that has an ensuite bathroom. Water pressure in the shower was amazing, they have compost toilets that are very clean and easy to use. The view over the lake was beautiful. Everyone that we met were very welcoming and friendly. The only downside was a wedding on Sunday morning so there was no food left for lunch. A beautiful and relaxing getaway especially if you like to keep things simple. Will definitely return.
