Happy Travels Byron Bay

Recently booked a trip with Happy Travels and it was such an easy process. They took all the stress and hassle out of planning a big trip. Within a day of sending an initial enquiry a proposed itinerary was sent out. Olivia Kettlety was a huge help throughout the process. She was always quick to respond to any questions and even managed to hold tickets for a tour that one of party was late to pay for.

It was clear that she and happy travels understood the importance of ensuring that their customers receive the best experience possible while down under! I would highly recommend both Olivia and Happy Travels.

I came into Happy Travels defeated. I thought that I’d missed my chance at going to do some of the most popular excursions (Fraser island 3 day & Whitsundays) but after 5 mins sitting down with the legend that is Jamie, we sorted it all out and came up with an alternate plan. The plan ensured I still did everything I originally envisioned but just in a slightly different order so that I could book those dream trips.

Jamie was fantastic he stayed with me for close to 3 hours, staying until 9pm so that we could lock it down. Despite it being 3 hours past closing, he still never rushed me and ensured we crossed all the Ts and dotted the Is before confirming everything. Couldn’t recommend Jamie and Happy Travels enough for anyone wanting to get their east coast trip organised and sorted top notch all round. Cheers Jamie!

Our experience with the travel agency Happy Travels and the support from Alisha was positive. The offer was appealing, Alisha's constant availability and personal advice convinced us. The process was quick and largely uncomplicated, and our individual wishes were taken into account. Thank you for good support!

Lauren has helped me book tours and camper vans repeatedly and she is amazing. Always gets the best deal and can book things for you over the phone if you’re not in Byron.

Just got back from whale watching in ballina as suggested by Eden laughton at byron bay's happy travels, it was BY FAR the best activity i had done in years of traveling. We saw so many whales and also a baby whale doing its very first breach jump. I was excited for the entire day before and after.

My friend and I booked our whole east coast trip from Byron Bay to Cairns and then to Alice Springs with happy travels. Lauren was so kind and spent so much time on finding the perfect tours for us. We were really surprised when we saw the final price because it was a lot less than I thought. We‘ve done some of the tours we booked with them already and everything worked well, same for the hostels. So if you are unsure of what to do and want some tips, go there

Highly recommend using, we were helped by Lauren who was amazing. She helped plan our trips and accommodation all the way up the east coast as well as Darwin, Broome and Uluru. She was incredibly helpful and had lots of information that made us be able to make decisions on things we were thinking about doing which gave us great peace of mind. She even kept in touch afterwards to make sure everything was going to plan.

Do NOT book with them! They act super friendly but try to sneak around the fact that they charge a 50% cancellation fee. I booked a Fraser Island trip with them out of kindness because they were nice and I thought they deserved the commission. I ended up taking a date that I didn’t actually want, thinking that I would have some flexibility if I needed to cancel as the vendor specifically offers full refunds within 48 hours. After realizing that there were no hotels available for the date I selected, I asked to cancel less than 2 hours after booking, only to be told that they would charge 50% (over $125). To make it worse, they didn’t even offer a discount on the trip…I could have booked directly through the vendor with free cancellation, for the same exact price.

Total scam! They might be helpful to provide travel info, but then run away and book directly with the tour providers themselves. Even if you are within cancellation terms, Happy Travels will charge 50%. Horrible policy and waste of money.

My friend and I got a great deal from Happy Travels. We definitely recommend it to other travellers. Very nice people and great service!
