Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre reviews
32Gunyama has several swimming pools. The ones my 6yr old grandson and I used were heated, clean, and fun. The Unisex toilet and change room was very good. The cafe was busy but food fine. No grassed areas which was a pity.
It is disgusting that management allows patrons of the lap pool to empty their noses into the pool! This is a health hazard and a totally unwanted exchange of bodily fluids! Yuk yuk and yuk! Close the pool and clean it!
Super swim resort for all ages. The children's facilities are great fun and the separate spa pool is well worth a visit after your main swim for extra warm relaxation.
Love Gunyama leisure centre! The creche and the creche club program is amazing! Every fitness class I have been to is so well run with incredible facilities and staff. The pools are all fantastic, my daughter loves the splash park and the hydrotherapy pool is a fantastic edition. In Summer the outdoor pools are fantastic and the big 50m lap pool is great for serious swimmers. This place has something for everyone! I specifically chose this gym over others because of the creche and the family membership being a great option for access to all classes plus swimming lessons.
I would honestly recommend this place to everyone!
This facility is the bomb. Great swim facility, lockers, showers, kid daycare, parking discounts, the list goes on…
The price to swim daily is reasonable with discounts for longer term commitments.
The field is beautiful. Adult pools spot-on, children’s pool a veritable Disney experience. What’s not to love for adults, athletes, and families. So well done.
Brand new pool with bad shower system.too hot or too cold.dangerous
Best time to go his late evening as nobody there.then I wish everyone has shower before jumping in a pool
Good and nice facilities but too crowded at peak. Should try a booking or ticketing method. Anyway, a early and late section for some. Cheers
Nice new pool. Very clean and clear water. Great facilities for family. Kids love the water slide.
Absolutely Brilliant, reasonable entry price, heated hydro pool for rehab exercise, 5 pools, exceptional staff, wheelchair access ramp to all pools.
We were so looking forward to our first visit. Shane my son fell in a hole outside the cafe area and cut his knee from a broken safety flag. And then we were bitten by swarm of wasps. Although I may go back again, pools great selection for everyone of all ages. Facilities are clean, first aid officer Jack was amazing!
Great facilities and pools. The only reason for the 4* is because the kids sections aren't open until 9am and this isn't clear on the website.
Great Place.freindly staff. Vincent the personal trainer went way and beyond to teach me techniques and was so pleasant to have him.will recommend him anytime
*PARKING is a deadset joke only limited to two hours and pricey everyone there only cause of the pool GREEDY COUNCILS
* the pool is nice but man so much staff heaps of people for general swim and play guess what hey lets not open up any lane ropes and have no room to move and get the kid lifeguards to keep saying off the ropes
With duty manager running it like a school lol
Wont be back better places that are cheaper
Great venue with a large variety of experiences to be had past just doing laps.
We've hosted several under 10 birthday parties there to great effect.
Facility is nice and clean as it’s relatively new. Lots of space for kids and adults to play.
Parking availability isn’t in proportion to the size of the facility. The entire experience is heavily discounted by the fact that there are less than 40 parking spaces available outside the centre. There’s a stretch of about 50m No Stopping zone, so do watch out for how other cars are parked because lots of visitors take a risk of parking in the No Stopping zone. This urban planning aspect is hopelessly poor.
Public transport? It’s a long walk from Green Square station and other street parkings, so given the parking situation I would really hesitate coming back.
I spent a good few hours with my 17-month toddler and overall enjoyed the place. I think the price to get in is a little too steep but otherwise given the facilities it's a great place to make a day out with the family Some great hydro therapy pools which you don't see in this area and for the kiddies the splash zone pools The coffee shop definitely needs a lift up as the coffee and the food ain't up to standards The parking also is limited and metered which will be sooner and I'd say catch public transport instead as it could get expensive I really haven't seem the gym area so can't comment much?
Great water play area for kids, lovely outdoor area - the only shortcoming is that there is zero parking.
While the facilities are great, I don't understand why the children's pool shuts so early (6pm on weekdays). How are working families ever meant to bring their kids here except for weekends which are too packed.
Yesterday my family and I were at Gunyama and had a great time until a child decided to slam into me whilst I was walking away from the waterslide. I was holding my cousin at the time and unfortunately I fell over and hit my shoulder and knee in the kids pool where it was shallow. What I am most disappointed with is the lack of parent responsibility. Look after your kids and ensure they are ok. There was no parent around. Thank g-d I had my hand on my cousins head other was she would have had concussion. I'm not blaming the kid at all. I'm blaming the lack of supervision by the parent. We love gunyama but please watch your kids
Beware that many lanes are often closed to the public of an evening, leaving just a few very busy for laps and other areas close at 6pm. Definitely check before you go!
