Gumnut Patisserie reviews
59Worth the 1.5hr travel from Sydney, second time visiting here and the food doesn’t disappoint, the pies fresh and delicious, the tarts fulfilling anyone’s sugar cravings, the staff are great and welcoming and there are seats outside under the umbrella so you can enjoy your food and there is free parking as well. Will definitely be back again.
Well worth the drive. Staff are friendly and the afternoon tea was fantastic! Take-away to the nearby duck pond and enjoyed the atmosphere watching the little ducklings.
Nah honestly best bakery in the country and it’s not even close. Whatever you choose is incredible.
We bought a lot of things and everything we ate was great. Pies were hot from the main bakery area at the back, pastries were tasty and the chocolate eclair was fantastic! Staff were really lovely and helpful. Lots of parking and benches outside for eating before you hope back into be car.
I have been here about five times and tried several cakes and slices and also took a family pie once to share with relos. All food was fantastically presented and delicious. Customer service is efficient and friendly too.
I'd give it a 3.5 star.
Good pastries. Pies are decent, though they were hyped up too much (which isn't there fault).
Micro brewery across rd, so kind of an ideal place
Great gourmet pies - loved the beef, cheese and bacon, and my partner loved the Eden. Milkshakes and coffees were also great.
Coffee and pastries excellent service. Not so my small and overcooked pastie but friends pies excellent. My opinion but go an see for yourselfs.
Good selection of hot food and pastries, it would be good if there are labels for each pastry item.
Best sausage roll I have ever had! Also the sourdough loaf bread was really good. However it was disappointing the shop didnt have a bread slicing machine for the sourdough loaves. The bread was a workout to slice. I hope you consider getting a bread slicer! Looking forward to buying pastries and bread again when I visit.
Three different phone numbers, no one answers. No capacity to leave a message. No contact email address.
Just get directed through a clunky website and have to register.terrible.
The best place to stop at on a thunderstormy day. There's no seats, but by the time you've finished eating everything you'd need to walk around to digest.
We had a lamb & rosemary pie, an Eden Brewery beef pie, a ham & cheese croissant, and the classic sausage roll.
The croissant was sinfully good with the cheese and bechamel, very out of this world. The sausage roll was a classic with very flakey pastry, and the pies were delicious as well.
Would very highly recommend!
Can't rate unfortunately. Wasn't allowed in with my Cavoodle who i was holding in my arms.
The almond croissant was delicious— I just wished I had asked them to heat it up for me, I assumed that it would come heated.
The line moved fast and the young servers had excellent customer service.
Amazing customer service and easily the best croissant I've ever head. If you're keen for a quick bite, try the ham & cheese croissant ($6.50) and you'll see it for yourself:) obviously the sweets are the stars of the place, so you'll find a large variety in the display.
Really good pastries and cake. However, the way they pack their pastries ruin them by the time they are at home. They use trays for assorted orders and then wrap it up with a paper bag. What is the point of having a chocolate donut, with all the chocolate stuck on paper. They need to get creative with their packing just like they are with their products.
Hubby and I took a leisurely drive from Sydney to enjoy an indulgence at Gumnut Patisserie in Mittagong and we weren't disappointed. We chose a decent selection, happily taste testing on the way home. Among our many favourites were the tartlets of mixed berries, pecan and macadamia, lemon meringue, passionfruit and several other items as it was too hard to resist any of them. We enjoyed some excellent coffee at the tables outside, in the sunshine. On our next trip we will order in advance online, before our favourites get sold out. Definitely worth future visits.
Definitely NOT the best "SAVOURIES". The meat is over - cooked, pastry is soggy on the pies, wrong pastry on the sausage rolls AND NO REAL BACON, ONLY FLAVOUR ENHANCER. SO NOT IMPRESSED AT THE PRICE. Minimal choice of pie flavours. Potato pie has too much gristle. Should stick to pastries only or get a REAL chef.
If you are visiting or even just driving through mittagong you MUST stop here for a pie or pastry or both.
We came back the next day for lunch because the pies were so yummy. Had the beef and mushroom, potato pie, sausage roll and a spinich and cheese pastie on the first day.
Next day we came back for a plain beef pie, sausage roll and chicken and leek pie. We also bought a chocolate moose, a Palmier and a custard & fruit danish.
Everything was delicious but out of all the pies I loved the potato the best but my partner prefers the mushroom.
Gumnut meat pies are AWESOME! Not only do they have to make the pie, but also make the AWESOME filling! I'm addicted. Thanks Gumnut.
