Where do I even start, with no hesitation hand on my heart this is the best rehabilitation program I have been to, from the location to the staff and the wonderful community that just make recovery enjoyable. I came into grow utterly broken 3 years ago, I was angry at the world and was very self righteous.
As I opened myself to the program and started to take responsibility for my actions I saw a huge shift in my behaviour and the way I thought.
This place teaches you real life skills and helps you go back into the wider community with grace.
The staff are absolutely brilliant, and I must mention Mia and Lauren as I saw some misinformation being spread.
Mia is a strong and assertive woman who will tell you how it is and not sugar coat it, that’s what you need in recovery, not someone who is going to beat around the bush, she helped me so much while I was there and continuous to help me now, she gave me motivation to keep going when I struggled the most.
Mia is someone who I truely look up to as a person.
Lauren is a bright, bubbly and very knowledgeable woman who has been though it as well so she knows what we go through, she started working at grow when I was getting ready to graduate, I still see her when I come back and I have nothing but love and respect for her.
The manager Aaron really turned this place around when he stepped in, he included going out to na groups as well as getting other recovering addicts to do hnis on site so we can see just how the program works and where we can be in a year or two if we continue to commit to our recovery, he has also done so much more. Aaron has even grown grow rehabs to other states in Australia, he loves and cares about everyone in grow so does the rest of the staff, and that makes a difference.
I struggled abit last month, Aaron and grow with open arms let me come back for abit to get my head straight, i am forever grateful for grows help, I wouldn’t be clean and living my best life like I am now if it wasn’t for grow, I wouldn’t be alive today if it wasn’t for their help.
The program works only if you put in the work too.

I think the senior female worker needs an attitude adjustment.shes not approachable or empathetic and may be incapable of healthy human empathy

An uncomfortable experience that made me feel ashamed and like a bad person.and some of the staff are arrogant and seem to enjoy being controllers and punishers

Was a recent resident at Grow and I must say even though the community is great and are really determined to better their lives, the staff are ridiculous and are not properly trained in addiction or know how to handle people with mental health problems, if you ever question staff about anything that you don’t agree with, you will be punished and ridiculed, if you expect to be treated like a human being in this rehab look elsewhere, just to name a few staff members who love to be power tripping A Holes,
Mia - she is just under the manager at Grow, she does not even bother to say good morning to you when you greet her, and actually enjoys dictating and having control over people who are struggling in life and loves to see you miserable
Lauren - completely unprofessional she is also an ex resident and has that “I am better than you attitude” does not know how to diffuse a situation and prefers adding fuel to the fire and will completely ignore how you are feeling,
In conclusion to this review, the place is riddled with Funnel Web Spiders (which a resident was bitten by), Brown Snakes and rats. A resident also committed suicide there 5 years prior, and the place is filled with Asbestos and other major health problems. DO NOT COME HERE

DONT BOTHER APPLYING FOR GROW REHAB

This is nothing but a money grab and slave labour for them….

I’ll be writing an email/ review about staff at grow rehabilitation, I hope you never have to deal with a staff member Lauren she misinformed/lied she had no clue what she was talking about and shouldn’t be a staff working at a rehabilitation program, her attitude was rude and unfriendly and she didn’t even have the balls to apologise for misinforming a potential patient

DONT BOTHER APPLYING FOR GROW REHAB

GROW really helped me w/ my journey of recovery,
I would recommend GROW to anybody that needs mental health and drug and alcohol treatment, GROW helped me to help myself.
Thier therapeutic community approach, 12 step program and valuable resources and tools that l learnt that have been proven over the many decades that GROW have been around, helped me enormously and which I will continue to apply in all aspects of my life outside of GROW.
GROW'S staff are caring, friendly and qualified trained professionals who are willing and ready to help anyone who wants help and are also suffering from mental health or addiction issue's like I had to suffer through mostly unaided for most of my adult life. After 25 years of trying many other good facilities and many more failed attempts at sobriety w/ self help attitudes, thankfully I found GROW. They really helped me on my path to recovery. Working in their therapeutic community really helped me adjust back in the wider community as a more confident and ordinary person. Thier long term residental stay gave me the time I needed to heal and learn and have time to really sink GROWS helpful and healing message into my tired, stubborn and abused old brain. The routined structure made it easier for me to keep much needed routine in my day to day life after GROW.
The other benefits to a long term residental stay was
I also had time to discover the many maladjustments I didn't even know that i had,
how to recognise and deal w / them. I also learnt to recognise triggers and what tools to apply.and when. Through thier 12 steps and other literature
they really helped me on my new approach to life, what life may throw at me and how l can handle it confidently and w/out hesitation. I am a completely different person then when I first entered the GROW program and with more focus on life and what i want from it, I now have a whole different perspective on life, thanks to GROW. I look at life, loved ones and other people from a completely different perspective, with the tools for life and the learning of many things such as mindfulness, gratefulness and thier postive influence. Or why we must let go of resentments and other feelings that stagnant our recovery. GROW has taught me how to have a strong and deliberate approach to my future w/out fear and addiction.
They also helped me come to term w/ grief that had been hauting me for a long time. I am not cured of my disorders but I have more control over my life.
I highly recommend this facility GROW to anybody that wants help.
Thankyou GROW and all its staff and its residents for being there in this part of my new journey and I didn't just get my life back I got a whole new one.:)

I used to be one of the residential program workers at grow from 2014 to 2016 and it was the worst job of my life. Once my employees at the time round out that I was pregnant continuously bullying me and making false accusations as he would rather have had his uni buddies working alongside him instead so they made up lies to push not only myself out but to other previous staff members when is the 21st century so I didn't think bullying wasn't accepted

Grow is one of the best things that i have ever done. I was at rock bottom and with hard work i completed the 12 month program
I gained so much! I am now nearly 5 years clean and built such an amazing life for my self. I am now a staff member at grow and get to help people that has the same struggles i was dealing with. Such an amazing place!

Was there as one of the first residents way back in the 1980’s. It changed my life profoundly. It wasn’t easy particularly the first 3 months, and to read some reviews where they say they gave it a real shot but left after a week. Please spare the excuses. That isn’t really giving it a go. No it’s not a hospital or a psychiatric facility but uses a 12 step similar program for improved mental health and personal growth. It works. I left Before I was meant to but luckily, I learnt enough over those 18 months to change my life. If you are sick of being sick. Go talk to them and if you start, don’t quit to you have at least given it 3 months. It takes that time to get a real picture of where you are at and how you can change for the better. Thank you Grow for helping me.

I graduated from Grow 6 months ago and it was the best thing I have ever done! I now help out at grow and have a casual position so I can pass on everything the program taught me,

Thanks Aaron and the team at Grow!

This place is a sham. No rehabilitation here, basically a work for the dole scheme. Staff are not qualified to work there and their "rules" are essentially cult like. If you want to get healthy I would recommend ANYWHERE but here.

Graduated program, best decision I've made, Grow has definitely taught me to walk tall and breath deeply. The positive changes that I have made are due to the support of staff and residents alike. No rehab is easy but if you want to make positive changes in your life I definetly recommend Grow. The best in life and love and happiness is now ahead of me. Thank you Grow

I presented in grow community back in 2014 I was 19 and the youngest one there. The staff were fantastic and structure was great.
I am now 25 and have been clean for years I will never forget what the place taught me

This is a terribly run administration. I was kicked out within less than 1 week because I was late to a couple of meetings and told I had a bad attitude for making a joke with another resident. It is not a realistic program rather more run like a work for the dole scheme. There is no internet, no chef, and the activities have none to do with reality.it is creepy and they are training people into un ordinary ways of behavior. Releasing residents back into life with unrealistic expectations that would show traits of a person becoming sociopathic. I tried my best and realized that it wasn't the place for me so I was working through the (Merritt team) @ RPA closely with corrections as well, so as I could seek out patient rehab alternatives & other sources of method so as I could continue abstinence & work with a job network who are willing to help with training & possibly a mature age apprenticeship to move forward with my life more appropriately. At one instance I was told to "Go" get out of a building without any manner of decency simply because I told another resident I liked her singing after she was told to stop because it was an office are an and we were assigned to cleaning. So disheartened and hurt by this experience as well as homeless. They only got 1star so I could write a review.

Would NOT recommend its both genders and there is no councilors, Nurses, Doctors or probably trained staff there full time
