We needed a professional that could fulfill a childhood dream of mine: To have a library room, complete with ladder on a rail and a secret bookshelf door leading to a storeroom. After a lot of searching, we found Groth and Sons and I'm glad we did. They designed and constructed the entire project, from concept through to completion. They were attentive to our requirements and suggestions, whilst also ensuring that the library was built in such a way that it matched the design of the rest of our house (which is in a Hamptons style). Upon completion, you would never know that the library wasn't a part of the original house build 30 years ago. At every step, Amos Groth ensured that they came to us with a solution and to get our feedback and input. Amos and his son Oscar were courteous, well mannered, and careful throughout this process and it is clear that they take pride and care in their workmanship. The process was expensive, but Groth and Sons are a third generation outfit specialising in interior design, custom cabinetry/joinery, and home libraries, and it definitely shows. Now the project is completed, I have no regrets about choosing them and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a home library, secret door or bespoke cabinetry. Bottom line: Groth and Sons are consummate professionals and their workmanship is brilliant. Most highly recommended.

For our living room renovation, we wanted cabinetry that fit the period of the house while integrating and hiding a myriad of 21st century entertainment tech. After months of research we fortunately stumbled upon Groth and Sons and upon our first consultation, knew that Amos and his team not only understood our vision, but were able to leverage their experience to evolve our initial ideas. Most of all, Amos took the time to appreciate the detail that others hadn’t, considering the unique proportions and scale of the room, how the room was to be used, the colour palette and even working with a cabinet cooling specialist to allow closed-door operation of our devices. The end result was perfect and beyond our original expectations for the room - beautiful, functional and added a sense of character and charm to the space. Amos and team - thank you for partnering with us on this project, you know you have us for life and I can’t wait to see what you create for us in the future.

I chanced upon Groth & Sons online and called to speak with Amos who turned out to be even more passionate than me about creating a library in my 1920's apartment. From the first conversation, through the design phase and onto the installation of the finished product the whole process and result exceeded my expectations. Amos and his son Oscar are amazing craftsmen with a keen eye for detail and quality finish and just simply a delight to work with. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Amos and Oscar did some work on our place a while back - they installed a custom bookcase and cabinetry in our study and turned an awful wall/sliding door into a bookcase with drawers and a secret door leading to a playroom for my son. The secret door and shelves were carefully designed to fit into the vibe of our unit, which has heritage columns and somewhat of an industrial feel. This included creating replicas of the heritage columns between the shelving - we weren't sure if it would work, but we trusted Amos and were blown away by the result. It looks amazing and the secret room is now the room we all hang out in more than our living room, not to mention the fact that a unique feature has been added to our place that all the kids lose their minds over. I can't recommend these guys enough - it's a real family affair, they're honest and they don't promise things they can't deliver on. They were in our house for days, and by the time they were done, we were a bit sad to see them go (Amos loves a chat). I'm sure you can find cheaper options, but you get what you pay for and they're great value for the price in my opinion. They'll be our go-to for any future projects 100%.

Amos and Oscar did an exceptional job on our custom library. From start to finish their communication was excellent, and when it came time for the installation, their professionalism and attention to detail was amazing. Amos is a real artisan and if you want the very best quality, use Groth and Sons. The finished product is just beautiful, such a feature in our home, and we couldn't be happier.

Amos did a superbly elegant renovation job of our study. My husband and I were looking for a professional architectural design with high calibre workmanship - and Amos definitely fit the bill. We have had experience with cabinetry projects in our previous home with good architectural design - however the contracting work was definitely not at par with the work we have experienced with Amos. Amos spends much effort in his design and incorporates all important details eg lighting, colour, window furnishings, electrical points, incorporating existing furniture etc. We are so thrilled with the end product (especially the handmade traditional sliding ladder!). We enjoy using this room often as it now has such a good ambience and feeling to it.

It is very rare to find an architect who also does the hands on work. He is a package of architect, interior design and artisan all in one. Amos' passion and skill in design and construction is very much portrayed in the final product. It was a pleasure to work with Amos - he is very professional, efficient and lovely!
