Greenlees Park

It was with great disappointment, after supporting the Greenlees Backyard restaurant for a number of years that I arrived tonight with a party of twelve for a birthday celebration, all booked, to find the Bistro shut until further notice. There was no sign on the Bistro door, it was just in darkness, no phone call had been made by club management to myself and the on duty staff were unable to provide any real explanation. We had to hastily move the whole party to another venue. Thank you to the gentleman playing cards at Greenlees for his venue suggestion. Thanks to the Massey Park Golf Club for accomodating this party at short notice. Whilst we understand that some crisis or incident had occurred, we felt that the club management, even though the Bistro is probably a private business, should have taken responsibility and contacted diners as this poor situation reflects directly onto the Greenlees club. Your manager on the night was clueless as to our booking even existing and provided no help with regard to how to re- accomodate the party. He just absolved himself of any responsibility stating that the Bistro management was not the club’s issue even though it is on the Club premises and the club happily accepts our money when we buy drinks to have in the Bistro. Our booking had only been confirmed by the Bistro management at 12md to the point that we were advised that a table would be set up and ready for our party. The initial booking was made over one week ago. There should be processes in place for this sort of scenario because incidents and issues do occur - whether that be a way that Club Management can access booking details in the case of an emergency so clientele are not inconvenienced or at least advise clientele as we arrive, not allow us to wander into an empty bistro looking for our prearranged seating. We fully understand that the unexpected can occur. To allow your clients, who buy drinks from your bar as well as eat at the bistro under your roof (whether you accept responsibility for the Bistro or not) is appalling for you reputation. Fail Greenlees. You have lost us as regular clients.

Mainly for sporting fields, no children playground and minimum facilities.

Excellent tennis courts and owner Steve. Great coaching programmes and lights for playing at night are perfect. Great location and lots of space behind baseline for big hitters!

Friendly Bowling Club, located at the end of the existing M4. Played tournament lawn bowls.

Expensive. Below average pub food. The only good thing about it is the returfed backyard where the kids enjoy running around.
