Green Square Library reviews
58Lovely library, neat and well presented shelves, easy to look for books. Lots of space to sit, fantastic decorations, pretty chill to read and work. Lacking in English Classic books but I don't really mind that. The children section bother me so much as they were packed and noisy, the parents did not even bother and I had to stood up and tell them to keep it down, not much help tho. Otherwise, the staff were extraordinary, attentive, professional and extremely helpful.
I don't know much about the laws in Australia, but I see a lot of children playing games in the computer area of the library, which looks like an internet café.
This place is amazing and so beautiful with a huge indoor garden and plenty of places to sit and read in the natural light.
Very modern library. Great staff members and book collections. I am able to collect book from Green square library and return to the one in Darling Square on my way to work. The app is amazing too. Very happy and grateful.
The reading room on the first floor is a great, well equipped, well lit study space - but, the two times I’ve used it, the air conditioning was cranked way up. I noticed I’m not the first to observe this problem in a review. Can you please turn down the air con a few notches? Ta!
Very pleasantly surprised at all the varied types of material available, and the brilliant staff assistance
Very nice modern library at a convenient location.
Its quiet and well equipped with power sockets that support usb c ports. Desks have height adjustable and chairs are comfortable for reading. Meetings rooms and computers are available.
Hope opening hours on weekends can stay to 6pm too, especially Saturday.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Green Square Library and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The library's collection was expansive and diverse, with a wide selection of books, magazines, and other resources that catered to my personal and professional interests. I was also impressed by the library's digital resources, which included a variety of online databases and e-books that were easy to access and use. The library also has printing services (refer to picture for fees) and JP services free of charge (refer to picture for when JP services are available).
The atmosphere of the library was peaceful and conducive to studying and working. The layout and design of the library were also impressive, with plenty of comfortable seating and natural light that made it a pleasure to spend time there. The staff at the library were friendly and knowledgeable, and went out of their way to help me find what I was looking for. They also provided excellent customer service and were always available to answer any questions I had.
In addition to its impressive collection and atmosphere, the library also offered a variety of programs and events for visitors of all ages.
Overall, I highly recommend the Green Square Library to anyone looking for a great place to read, study, work, or simply relax. The library truly exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to visit again.
The male librarian was very loud and noisy. There were a lot of screaming children inside, which was very disruptive to learning, and the librarians never cared.
Overall this is a fantastic place to work or study.
My only issue with this library is that it's always too cold. People sit around in coats and jackets because the air-con is blasting in the summer, and in the winter there is no heating.
By later afternoon (after 2pm) I have to wear gloves or my hands start to go numb.
Definitely bring warm clothing and gloves if you intend to spend more than an hour in this library.
The best design for a library with lots of seating plenty of computers for use and a lift to take you up floors like the quiet room and it was amazing the only problem is that they don’t have membership available for people under 18 without a adult witch is stupid because we want to study but otherwise amazing and staff were not great I guess
A beautiful library!
The perfect spot to chill, study, and read. The design and architecture is so unique and cool, the book selection is expansive, and the Cafe upstairs is wonderful.
The rainbow book wall is a highlight. So simple but perfectly executed!
Large, clean and airy. Free fast Internet up to 2Gb. Numerous places to read, study and work. There are small meeting rooms available and plenty of places to charge your devices. Finding a book is straightforward and the place is kid friendly. There was a kiddie sing a long while I was there, but in no way obtrusive. In fact it was delightful.
The coffee at ground level was damn good too.
I used to study there regularly however it become a very very noisy place rather than a library. People eat, laugh, talk on their phones, and bring their kids playing around.
If you want to find a place to concentrate, this is the LAST place you want to go!
University of Sydney library outdated, State Library overrated, long have we waited, Green Square library activated.
It's a great place for kids as well as adults. Beautifully kept and managed. You could spend an entire day here. It also has a coffee shop and an indoor garden. We interacted with Daniel and he was super helpful and efficient. Thank-you guys!
I LOVE this library. I normally go on Saturday mornings and there’s always tables available for me to study. Tables are always clean. I can get a coffee in the cafeteria upstairs which it’s extremely important for me. The library is beautiful and well located. I am very happy for having found this beautiful place:)
Sadly this brand new library, built with public money is discriminating against people living with disabilities and the elders of our community!
The library provides a generous discount to students, be they Australian citizens or not, on the fee to hire the music practise room, which is great given it's expensive. However; the same discount, in fact NO discount what so ever is available to those who are disabled or elderly!
Music therapy is of great health benefit, sadly those who need it are financially discriminated out of access to this wonderful space! Shame on Cl9ver Moore and THE CITY OF SYDNEY
To the very nice man who let us into the meeting room. Thank you for your hospitality and being so kind.
Great facilities the only issues being some of the charging points in the lower ground didn’t fit the macbook charger. Also another piece of advice for newcomers is to enter the tower through the library. The direct door to the tower is only open in the morning, so go to the kids area in the library and you’ll find a glass sliding door. Press the green button to open and enter the elevator. That’s the other way to enter the tower
