Great Lakes Aquatic and Leisure Centre reviews
19 Nice place to spend time in, the are very welcoming, warm kids pool, nice deep pool and my favourite was the sauna
Next time i gonna try their gym when i will visit Forster again
Great place. However, lift has only worked for two weeks out of the last two years. Been 6 months since it last worked. Not so good if you're elderly.
We love going to swimming lessons at The Y Forster. Miss Em is a fantastic swimming teacher who makes every class super fun for the babies.
Brett established a programme for me. He was great with his instructions and was easy to understand.
Went there with a client on STA, the staff were very helpful and professional. Happy to give a good rap. Thanks guys.
The staff are very pleasant, the entrance fee very reasonable, the facilities lovely and clean, although I only used the swimming pool would highly recommend for families with young children as they have 2 toddler pools all indoors.
Great swimming lessons for my five year old. Excellent teachers and a safe relaxed environment. I thought the coffee at the facilities cafe was quite good.
Very clean and orderly. Got everything you need. The spa is perfect temp with constant jets.
Always a visible lifeguard on duty. Very large kids pool and a separate toddler pool. Sauna was out of action this week but it’s usually pretty good.
There’s a playland, cafe and excellent gym, free weight section is upstairs while the machines are downstairs.
Upstairs showers are stalls while the downstairs ones are open with dividers.
Overall a great facility.
Had a weeks holiday at Forster, and was fortunate enough to train at the Aquatic centre.
I'm nine weeks in my rehab, after having a Total Knee Replacement.
With the pool, bikes and machines it had everything I needed.
Great value for money also after purchasing a weekly pass.
You can't go wrong.
Great place to bring the whole family. 3 size pools. Little area for babies, a toddler pool that starts very shallow and goes up to 0.9 metres. The bigger pool is a regular pool for swimming lessons, laps, aqua aerobics, general swimming etc. No diving boards. Can borrow noodles, etc. Swimmers are for sale, if you find you want a dip and didn't bring them with you. Goggles and sometimes towels for sale. A cheap day out for the family in summer. Gym area, play area and circuit training. Indoor volly ball, basket ball, etc. Coffee shop that sells most things. Awesome place to visit.
My son's being going for 2 years and it is the best way to be able to learn self control and its fun
I'm starting to feel like I live here - as a mum that's also a freelance marketer/designer, I've found the perfect set up here at the Great Lakes YMCA: my 2 boys love their swimming lessons (and the amazing creche team they get to hang out with afterwards while I go to the gym). Then I get to enjoy a great coffee at the cafe while I catch up on some work, before picking up the boys and hanging out in the ballpit with some well-earned fish & chips. I can't even begin to describe how much better I feel mentally and physically after signing up for a family membership - if you use it to the max you won't regret it! Xx
The ignorance, arrogance and incompetence shown from management to long term local members was pretty appalling and actually quite embarrassing for the aquatic centre. This kind of behaviour doesn't go unnoticed.
A long term member tries to help others and gets asked to leave the aquatic centre. Absolutely appalling of your staff.
Nice to visit but pool is very full in mornings. No room for a simple swim/cool off. Better going to beaches.
Great facilities. Gym, heated indoor 25m pool and 2x toddlers pools. Great place for young children. Indoor children's play area. Creche available.
Absolutely lovely service, good facilities. Personally the main pool is a bit warm for lap-swimming (more suited for light swimming, aqua-aerobics), and place would be perfect if it had a steam room as well (can't have everything). But certainly a great place to go to.
2 floors of equipment, bottom for machines and cardio and top floor for free weights.
I grabbed a weekly holiday pass for $35
Great swimming teachers for the kids however they are not flexible with anything. Lessons are all pre paid from your credit card a fortnight in advance and you need a med cert if your kid is sick and cannot attend or you still get charged even if you give up to 48 hours notice. I tried to cancel swimming lessons all together today and I was abruptly told "you have 2 options, either come in and fill out papers or email us, you can't do it over the phone". It's kids swimming lessons for goodness sake, it should be pay per visit, kids get sick frequently and I don't want to put them in the pool when their sick just because I paid for the lesson. I paid for many lessons my kids didn't attend, rather annoyed.
