Grand Canyon Car Park reviews
8The revamped carpark is good. Initially I thought the carspaces were undersized but actually they are slightly over the legal regulated size. As they are angled parking spots it kind of makes them look skinnier than they are. It's good that it has all been bitumened so no more muddy bog when it rains. There is a new toilet block with a paved area running to it. The toilets are non-flush drop toilets. There is a disabled toilet but no designated disabled parking spots near the toilets. Unfortunate for busy holiday times as you could find yourself having to push a wheelchair for some distance through a busy crowded carpark.
The National Park website says it takes 3-4hrs to complete the hike.
Pfff! I packed 2 days worth of food and it took me 1.5hrs to complete this walk, and I am a massive tourist. I take photos every 10steps I take.
It's a loop so don't walk back, keep on your track. Don't ask me how I know.
Please stop by the waterfall and the tiny cave area, and take as many videos and selfies as you like because after this, it is all stairs to heaven.
I didn't eat my egg sandwich, had too much food and snacks.
One of the entrances to the Grand Canyon loop hike. It's a reasonably challenging hike with great views.
Just a standard car park which is close to the start of the walk. There's basic drop toilets there too. The walk itself is fantastic and will worth a visit.
Nice and close to the entry point at Evans Lookout but the dirt road could do with a little maintanence. Lots of potholes so take it easy driving in and out.
Make sure you do some practice runs beforehand. It’s beautiful in the Canyon but over a 1000 steps down some not so well formed, and what goes down have to come back up so if you can do this in winter/autumn/spring. Definitely worth it.
Loved the track. Awesome for a weekend bushwalk. Ideal for people for little or no tracking experience but wants to start tracking. Children under 6 not recommended
