Best Jiu-Jitsu school in Sydney! Amazing staff and outstanding facilities. Highly recommend

I hate leaving reviews online and much prefer to contact places directly, but when they are uncontactable!
We signed up to Gracie Barra - classes were fine. However we need to cancel the membership due to changes in schedule, we are now unable to get there. They don’t answer the phone or return messages. We called in excess of 7 times between 11th October and 13th November & left messages, we wrote an official complaint letter to HQ with no response. They continue to debit our bank account.

We are going to literally have to show up there and demand a refund/cancellation! Very poor for an organisation that appears so professional in the classes!

As a white belt I’ve gone the gym very welcoming to newcomers. Everything from the patience and guidance of the professors, the helpfulness of the higher belts, and the welcoming community of members who are all there to learn and share insights.

Just started my BJJ experience and Gracie Barra Sydney could not be a better choice. Great atmosphere and sense of comradery.

Been training at Gracie for a year now and it’s excellent. Highly recommend it to anyone regardless of your level. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the training is as hard as you make it.

Nice gym. I trained here when I visited Australia a while back. I offered to pay a mat fee but they wouldn't take my money.

It’s such a Incredible atmosphere! The staffis really welcoming, the professors are always there to help you improve your jiu jitsu and training partners are always pushing you! It’s feels like home!

This is a very professional, warm and friendly team who make you feel very welcome no matter what your experience. Jack is a man of his word who ensures joining their team is bespoke to your needs.

I don’t recommend you to do membership plan at Gracie Barra Brookvale. If you need cancel your membership you are required to pay 60 days from the day you cancel which is a lot. The instructors are great, along with the classes although it is a big commitment if you just want to train on a casual basis.

I’ve been training at Gracie Barra Sydney for the last 6 months and am absolutely loving it. Super professional and friendly atmosphere with an incredible bunch of Professors and members. Highly recommend this club to anyone wanting to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

I’m very thankful that the team take care of my son so much that I have my daughter doing it as well now.
I have had both the kids who have done some private lessons with professor Carlos and that helped them immensely.
The kids are more confident within the group and the main concern of discipline has helped with my son and strength and knowledge is giving me confidence if my daughter ever gets in trouble.

I have been training at GB sydney for about 8 years - I chose Gracie Barra because of their motto “Jiu-jitsu for all”.
Over my jiu-jitsu journey I have always felt supported by the staff, coaches and other members at GB Sydney. Whether as a nervous beginner, focused competitor or as a busy mum, I have always felt welcome and encouraged by everyone at GB Sydney to achieve my goals.
I truly feel that GB Sydney really do mean “Jiu-Jitsu for all” - I am so glad that I stepped on the mat at Gracie Barra Sydney.

My experience with Gracie Barra i would say has been
a long journey where you learn obviously the gentle Martial Art but also a personal growth. You make friends for life to share techniques on the mat and also outside the school. Everyone feels always welcome no matter the belt that you are or how long you have been training, on the mat we are all the same osss

Such a great sport for our active 5 year old. It has given him a sense of pride, respect and he just loves going and having fun. They teach a beautiful ethos and the perfect way to get all his extra energy out.

Attentive, knowledgeable and engaging instructors. A great approach for keeping the attention of the young ones and encouraging them to develop. Can highly recommend to anyone considering sending their kids for Jiu Jitsu lessons.

The benefits that my son have gained have been well beyond the mat. I cannot believe the affect that GB Sydney has had on my son. His ability to listen and learn, respect others, have patience, resilience, and empathy are just some of the many qualities that have been instilled by the Coaches and Professors.
