I called to ask 1 question as I am going through a divorce and was told there was a fee $550 for the process! Mind you it’s says request a free consultation! Very disappointed esp after being recommended! The time spent answering questions by the receptionist my question would have been done with!

They took on a my case even I did not think I have a unlawful employment dismissal case being dismissed during my probation time. I was to pay $15000.00 and we represent. They only contacted me if the needed money or my signature. They did not respond to my attempts to provide evidence, for my case. Matthew Lynch does not have good knowledge of the Australian employment laws or trade awards. I had to explain the law to him. He was insufficient prepared for the Fair Work hearing, asking me 10 minutes before the start of that hearing for paperwork to support my case. I was not able to send it as the contact details provided did not work. Even his staff member Annie would not react to my contact attempts.
After the hearing I was called back by Matthew stating he would call me on the following, to explain where to go from here. He never did. All I got was a letter pay $4.500 and we represent you
Further, but not him another lawyer of his firm. I was called serval times my Annie to remind me to an extra $4500, so they can help me in the next step
This was a disappointing experience that cost me a non refundable $1500.00 for an ill prepared Fair Work Commission case. An easy way to make money for a law firm that claims they know the Employment Laws. I sacked them and will get a better lawyer in Melbourne.

What a rude impatient horrible person.
As a first timer seeking out law advice, Matthew left me in tears because I didn’t understand the situation and wanted him to elaborate. Was told he can’t help me and hung up on me.

You shouldn’t be doing this job if you have no patience to help people.
A doctor, mechanic or a dentist for eg wouldn’t expect their client to completely understand cases they’ve studied and trained to do for years on end.

Disgraceful.

Employment matters can be highly stressful, but I'm extremely glad that I placed my trust in Gorval Lynch (particularly Merna and Serge). They made the experience as painless as possible, helping me to an incredibly positive outcome.

A few things I wanted to call out were:

Approachability – I was never made to feel any question was too stupid. Merna and Serge were always available when needed and their highly professional yet calm and approachable demeanor was very comforting throughout the process.

Deep Domain Knowledge of Employment Law – Merna and Serge are clearly experts and some of the best in their field – this was especially notable when witnessing their interactions with lawyers from the other side.

Negotiation Skills – Witnessing Merna’s negotiation skills first-hand was super impressive, she was always calm, patient, yet knows exactly when to apply pressure - always in control.

Integrity – Merna and Serge were always transparent, kept communication lines open, and just genuinely care. This was apparent even several months after the matter where they checked in on how I’m doing.

Results – At the end of the day, the results far exceeded my expectations in every way (timelines, contractual, financial) and I can’t thank Merna and Serge enough for their kindness, effort and professionalism.

The Gorval Lynch team (in particular Matthew and Julia) were able to advise, and assist in achieving a positive outcome. I found them to be professional, knowledgable, helpful and true to their word. I am glad I placed my trust in them, and would not hesitate to recommend the Gorval Lynch team.
