Gong Cha Broadway reviews
16 Rude service. She should be fired.
The date and time of this incident is 15: 20,26 Jan 2024. Hope you conduct a thorough investigation and realize that a self-ordering kiosk is better than the clerk, who is indifferent and unqualified.
This is my first time here, I asked the staff named Kevin to recommend which drink is the most popular here. And he's very passionate about introducing the drinks. Then I ordered the Pearl Milk Tea. And it tasted so good. The drinks here are decent. The staffs here are very nice too. There are 2 staffs working that day.
Today i decided to go to this store on my way to Broadway and i regret it so much. Me and my sister came at 11.02 am and i tought this store not open yet because the door hasn't been opened. But when we saw the operational hours, it's so clear that the store should be opened at 11.00 am so we take a look at the inside of the store and we saw 2 staff there. When she saw us, she opened the door with rude face. She didn't greet us or even gave us smile. I have no problem at first but like not enough with her rude face, this happened when we ordered the drinks.
My sister ordered first. She ordered Royal Milk Tea with no pearls. This is what happened to her:
- The girl who opened the store was the one who took our order as a cashier. There's no smile at all, no "thankyou".
I don't even know why gong cha hire someone with that atittude. I know she might be have a bad day, but i think she should know that "good service" and "atittude" are important in hospitality industry.
- The guy behind her just stood there when my sister has finished ordering her drink. Can't you even try to make her order?
- Her drink wasn't even taste good at all. Me and my sister are GongCha lovers that we already tried almost all goncha store but her drink really taste different from the other store.
After my sister ordered her drink, i ordered a Royal Pearl Milk Tea then this rude bad atittude girl say that there is no pearls. I mean you guys even late to open the store and the pearls hasn't been ready yet? Hello guys, please? ! Then i cancelled my plan to order the drink and she said "the pearls was gonna be ready for like 10 minutes". Usually, i'll be willing to wait because i love the pearls, but with her atittude from the beginning lol. I don't even wanna see this store anymore.
Dear Gong Cha, can you guys hire better staff or please train your staff better.
Oh my God 1/5 is even too much for them.
Standard bubble tea quality. Nothing really special besides the magnet promotion. She was nice enough to let me do a magnet swap so I’ll give her that.
Poor service - took incorrect order and overcharged then didn’t add member rewards to corrected order.
Rude and bad customer service. Shouted at me when I'm trying to see the menu and when she's returning my change. She threw it on my hand and the money dropped. She just turned around like nothing happened! First time encountered such a rude customer service is Australia.
I've been to this Gong Cha a few times due to the convenience of it being near Railway Square. Staff lack customer service skills and can be quite rude and abrupt, and there are very long waiting times if there are more than a couple of orders being processed. The tea tastes somewhat watery compared with other branches of Gong Cha. It isn't the worst tea shop I've been to but I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you're in a hurry.
I have always avoided Gong Cha as quality has always been hit and miss, decided to give them another try and unfortunately the drink I got served was watery and horrible. Clearly didn't use enough milk, nothing worse than spending ~$8 to get something similar to tap water and sugar. A refund would be nice.
Worst customer service I've had in ages.
When I ordered I got something I've never tried before. I specified exactly what I wanted but that's not what I got. When I questioned why there was something in it I didn't order I was told that it's an automatic inclusion and if I didn't want it I should have said so. But how was I supposed to know that something I didn't ask for would be included?
They remade the drink but went out of their way to tell me multiple times that I ordered incorrectly.
I'm never going back to any Gong Cha after this.
My friend and I went to buy mango alisan tea today. When my friend accidentally spilled a drink on her clothes. The staff asked enthusiastically when she went back to find the tissues.
Nice staff with good service. I ordered milk tea with pearl this afternoon and the girl with grey hair served me. She gave me pieces of serviette for drying as she realised I got wet in the rain. She was so warming and thanks for her. Great taste, good hygiene and nice service.highly recommend.
It's alright, probably one of the better ones in the city.
However, the store itself is weird, as it wastes so much space. The staff front area is literally 3x larger than all of the other stores, enough for 10 to run around in a rush. But there was only 1 staff there and she was doing 5 orders by herself.
The store also have at least 2 more rooms in the back with enough be a typical gong cha storeroom.each. But both rooms look empty, other than an ice making machine.
With this huge space, there should have been a small cafe area. Even if it is just 4-6 seats. Also, one of the seats are already loose.
Finally, the person that was working that day (Monday 2nd March) alone, she was calling out pickup orders by the drink type, rather than the number on the receipt and drinks stickers. This caused confusion at the start, even though the customers ordered different drinks. She should stick to the standard of calling out numbers.
The most rudest customer service ever. DON'T GO THERE. The girl that works there is so rude, I ask nicely "if you can put soy milk instead of milk in the brown sugar milk tea", which I normally drink at every other Gong cha, she fully shout at me "NO, THE POLICY SAID NO. ". Din't even try to be nice at all.it ruins my day at Gongcha, I've never seen someone so rude in my life. How come you hire these kind of people? Just to ruin Gongcha's reputation or what?
TL;DR: Didn’t have pearls ready but still charged additional for a substitute topping for drinks that included pearls as standard. Rude service. Accepts cash only.
Came in close to 12pm, so 2 hours after opening and black pearls weren’t ready. So had to choose alternative toppings but was still charged the extra cost even though the drinks selected were meant to already include pearls.
There’s a lot of noise from the street and the staff wear face masks and also stand behind a Perspex screen so it was quite hard to hear what the server was saying. I had to get closer to the side of the screen and strain to hear her talk. She just got more and more annoyed for needing to repeat what she said to the point she was half yelling at me and had a rude demeanour. Also, this place only takes cash.
The drinks are no better or worse than other branches but I wouldn’t return purely because of the experience.
The most rudest customer service of my life, I have never been treated that way from my entire life. The girl that works there at 4pm, 11th of March. I was just asking her nicely about my preferred drink, which is brown sugar milk tea to be 50% sugar, she rolled her eyes and give me the most disgusting look a person can every give. On top of that, my friend was just asking about the same drink but to be soy milk, because he is lactose intolerance, she fully shouted "NO, THE POLOCY SAID NO". I have never seen anyone so rude before. Why hire such person to work? I know why not a lot of people like the place now.
Easy to find, but only accepts cash and alipay. I seldom carry cash, so that's really annoying.
Giving it 4 stars for the detailed reply and the drink tasted good too. Managed to find some cash. I walked to find a Gong Cha branch from Redfern so was glad to have gotten my drink.
