The food was still good but the price is going up significantly.
The staff has very limited English

Way too overpriced given the poor service and mediocre ‘atmosphere’.

Average Chinese dishes here cost around $30+ which is pretty damn expensive given that this restaurant is not in the CBD and overheads/rent shouldn’t be anywhere close to other restaurants.

Service was also very poor as one of the female staff seemed to lack any sense of initiative and we struggled to get servers’ attention for refill on the tea. (Mind you, this is when the restaurant was only operating at 20% full capacity)

Sadly I don’t think I’ll ever be returning here again. Maybe for the yumcha, but that’ll be it.

The only disappointment is the supposedly steam rice roll (蒸腸粉). It is more a rice sheet wrap than freshly steamed with ingredients.

Arrived at 1pm and they wrote on the bill we arrived 12: 30pm. At 2pm they said we “overstayed the 90-minute seating” and wanted to kick us out.

Families with children know what monumental effort it is to prepare and leave the house. Only to be kicked out of a restaurant due to human error. No understanding, respect nor empathy for customers.

Good luck and Never coming back here again.

Yum Cha is amazing, possibly one of the best in Sydney regardless of the price.
Dinners are good too, restaurant generally looks well-maintained. Would recommend if looking for Cantonese food with big crowds.

They take food that other customers don't finish after they leave and serve it to other customers. Have been a patron for many years, but seeing this for the first time in any restaurant I been to is just next level disgusting. When you're paying $50+ per dish, this stinginess and poor hygiene is the last thing you expect. Counter was unapologetic. My dad witnessed this on father's day, and I felt so embarrassed for taking him here.

Food is just bad don't even go there is a waste of your money.

And the staff is so rude if you want someone to speak down to you, slam the food on the table and make you feel like you're stealing food from them even when you still pay for it. You love to feel like that? Come here if not DO NOT GO THERE AT ALL

Fairly disappointed with our visit second time around. The yum cha used to be top notch. What happened? ! Cold dishes, being the main culprit. Steamed items are steamy hot, but the fried items are stone cold, and waiters tells you their hot. Not impressed

Nice food and good service. Love the? Lobster, xo pipi, vegetables, chicken, bbq pork and all the other dishes. However it was not cheap. Costed us around $1200 for 15ppl. Will definitely come back.

A fine example of amazing food ruined by terrible service. The food came out so slow, 30 mins between dishes. Staff are unresponsive, we had to wave many times before someone actually came over. They served the desert mid meal and had to even cancel some of our order just because it took 3 hours to come out. It's the longest meal I've had. Food is great but not worth it!

Impolite lobby manager. Asking when is the usual close time for afternoon yum cha but keep saying come back at 5pm. Which is not answering the question but expression of overwhelming to customer.

We just had our worst ever Christmas party there. We had the Chinese banquet for the group of 30 people. Portion size was so small and for the money we paid it’s definitely not value for money. All night we got no service from any waitstaff except one lady coming in to deliver food to the table. Not a place I would recommend or go back again. Bad experience and totally ruined our Christmas party

Not so happy with the fried glutinous rice too wet and tasteless, fried radish cake middle part of cake uncooked, porridge thousands yrs eggs no idea why so fishes and cool. Steam item is perfect.

Great food, nice and quiet - 4 stars

During this covid period, service has gone to sht with food taking ages to deliver. All helmed by a snappy short haired woman who doesnt have a place near the restaurant. Avoid

Friendly service, the waiter was very welcoming. Slightly pricy than other Chinese restaurant, but overall satisfied.

Used to come to this part of Hurstville for the definitive Yum Cha experience "The Sharks Fin", which began my love affair with this Chinese way of eating. Golden Sands is almost as good, perhaps without the huge crowd and stock market atmosphere of the Sharks Fin, but we did come late, and on a public holiday. Bill was huge but we ate a lot and I have no issue with our daughters boyfriend having an enormous appetite.: -P Was there myself, not so long ago. But the food, the food. The dumplings were as good as I've had (Marigold, East Ocean, Palace, Sharks Fin) and the pork ribs would have made my old sparring buddy Will smile. (Miss you, mate!) Good company, good food and friendly service as well. Worth a look if you're looking for top notch yum cha!

Most delicious fresh yum cha and friendly efficient service. The prices are reasonable and very good quality ingredients. Big juicy prawns, the scallops and prawn siu mai are exceptional. Authentic Cantonese dim sum! I love the relaxing vibe on weekday mornings.
