Golden Memories Millthorpe Museum reviews
26A fascinating place, well worth any detour to Millthorpe, which is beautiful. Highly recommended.
Absolutely fantastic! The museum has lots of moving exhibits, great for kids and adults alike.
This a great museum in the beautiful town of Millthorpe. It's actually quite substantial for a small town like this. There is local, war, agricultural, education history. There's an onsite blacksmith (not operating on the day we visited) and a craft shop. Lot's of machinery including a massive tractor they managed to salvage from a local farm. Well worth a visit, give yourself an hour or so for a general look around.
A very charming museum with lots of fun and interactive displays. Perfect for the family to explore. But the true gem is the craft cottage, lots of locally made accessories and delicious jams and preserves. Don’t miss this place if you’re in the area
I was so impressed with this place seemed it went on forever. The volume of wonderful antiques and history driven information was amazing. I just don't know why I haven't visited this place sooner. There is something for everyone and the very professional way they have put together their displays will amaze you. The couple volunteering to run this are truly inspirational and couldn't be more helpful. Worth a visit? 100%
A beautiful museum in a beautiful part of the country.
Worth the entrance fee to see all the old farming ways and new ways.
Very friendly staff. Interesting and creative exhibitions. Those crafts of horse, dogs and man are just incredible.
Expansive range of history spread across many buildings. Many volunteers keep it clean and some exhibits are working to show what functions they did. Panel display of Australian inventions amazed me, so many I was unaware of.
A must see and worthy of a detour.
The town has many old and well maintained buildings and good coffee shops.
Very friendly, I had lots of questions and they helped me above and beyond what they needed to. Shall go back for more info if I need more help.
Wow - a surprising amount of things to see and very friendly folk who keep things running out of sheer passion
Amazing museum, so many things to discover, great insights about the history of Millthorpe, Central West NSW and Australia in general
Incredible! A big thank you to the many volunteers who maintain the heritage of Millthorpe for our ancestors and generations to come in this wonderful museum. A special thank you to Rose, Phil and Hayley who have gone out their way to help me get as much information and images of my family history, the "Rockliff" family as possible. Millthorpe is a tiny town but big on history and heart. If you come to Bathurst, make sure you visit the village of Millthorpe. Cheers Gary
We visited the museum today, and was very surprised at how much there was to see.
Everything was so clean and the setup was amazing one of the best museums we have seen in a while.
Leave at least an hour for your visit!
Lots of old farming equipment local to the area. Very interesting insights into the development of local produce. Kid friendly and great staff.
This is an extraordinary museum rambling over several buildings, all of them filled with history. Well worth visiting.
Lovely museum with lot of interesting exhibits from the region area. We had a great time exploring the museum
Well worth stopping to have a look. Could spend hours here. Lots of tractors, steam engines, farm machines, Australian inventions. Granddad and the kids loved it. Working exhibits and video exhibits made it very easy to relate to as well
Closed, but volunteers active on site.
I drew the conclusion that the volunteers were more interested in the satisfaction they gained from it than suiting tourists.
My friend Tanya and I had a lovely time wandering around looking at all the wonderful old things, we didn't quite see everything so we shall return
