Glenwood Community Centre reviews
27 Today went to perform Jummah prayer and to listen the Khutbah of Sheikh Ahmed Mahmoud.
The local Muslim community booked the community centre for today’s Jummah prayer. The Khutbah was very nice and learned lot of things from his Khutbah.
Located in Glenwood. The community hub is spacious. Visited here as part of Durga puja festival celebrations of Arohon. Easy access from Blacktown station using bus service. Public amenities like toilets and seats are available. There is a children's play area as well.
Community hub with spacious hall for organizing party, chargrilled store and ample parking - what more to ask for. This would be one of the go-to places for organizing future functions.
Having attended a recent function, I was.blown away by the decor inside. It's quite modern, beautiful lighting, spacious hallways giving it a slighlty hotel banquet hall touch. It has attached bathrooms and a kitchen full of supplies to store things. Resetting things once the function was done was easy thanks to provision of some easy to use strolleys to take away things.
Nice big hall for the wedding reception we attended. Also has a cafe, which we might have tried if we were early. I didn't go into the kitchen, so I can't comment. I big plus was the easy access from the hall to the bathrooms which were very clean and well supplied.
Jumaah held there weekly at 1: 15 PM. Easy and ample parking. Convenient for events with large attendance
We danced at the hub today for a lovely group of indian people made as so welcome and what a lovely venue
Fantastic venue for a kids birthday - play area is awesome. Kids spent most of the time outside. Big kitchen area and lots of tables and chairs. Reasonably priced- 4 hour minimum booking required.
Neat and clean hall, suitable for kids birthday party’s and small functions. Lotus hall has an attached play area as well.
Plenty of parking available and located on a north so busy street.
Wow, you cannot expect more from a council run community centre.
Hatsoff to blacktown council for having all facilities in one place.
Perhaps the only thing missing is a stage
Rest everything sorted including a commercial kitchen
I had a great time while I was here for a Gaye Holud (pre-wedding) event. It has a great commercial-scale kitchen and a really wide hall, and it is quite spectacular both inside and out. This hall is at a wonderful location and can comfortably hold 200–250 visitors. On the same roof, there is a small takeout shop, which is also quite convenient.
Plenty parking. Good spacious hall for small parties. Small take away shop near buy for hot drink and snacks
Nice size halls. Great for weddings especially when men and woman needs to be in separate halls.
Nice community hall. Good facilities. You can have a gathering of upto 100 people max, I would say.
Did my fitness class here twice, recommended if you need to rent place for your special occasions.
Modern and clean halls, easy to find parking.
We booked the lotus hall for kids birthday party. Nice place and kids were really engaged in the play area.
I like this place to host a good sized gathering for personal or community functions. The Marigold hall can accommodate a fab party with enough space for a DJ and dancing floor and catering.
Kitchen is clean and has all necessary appliances to support your needs.
The centre manager Cathy is wonderful to work with.
We have hosted big community events here for the past 4yrs to great success.
I had a fantastic time here attending a wedding function. The air conditioning works well (I went during an average day, not too hot/cold outside) and there is a place to set up for food & catering. The place is clean and spacious, the ceiling is high and you can adjust the lighting too for night time functions. There is a car park outside with lots of spaces, and it was easy to find and locate the building. The venue is pram friendly (so no steps to climb) and there are side rooms to store equipment and furniture. Hope this helps!
Not much there, apart from 16 tennis courts. No playing field or play equipment. No drinking water fountain and not condusive for the littlies.
Why 16 tennis courts and not a basketball court or playing field? Ask Blacktown Council.
This community centre has 1 big hall and 2 or 3 smaller halls. The small hall is linked with a closed outdoor playing area which is great because the kids can play there while their parents can enjoy the function. The halls are neat and clean and the kitchen has great equipment to reheat or heat the food. There is a furniture storage room with the halls that has round and serving tables and chairs as well as small size furniture for the kids. There are restrooms as well as parents room in the centre. There is also a small shop inside the community centre where snacks, and coffee is sold. There is Woolworths right next to the community centre as well.
Good enough space to do the party's. Good car parking space.
Air conditioner not giving enough cool to the hot days. Male toilet urinate bowls over flowing due to the blockage. Management need more attention on this areas to provide better service to the committee's.
