Gia Hoi / Pho Song Huong reviews
69The food was great! Really nice flavors and soup base was on point. The price was also fantastic
Great bun bo hue dac viet. Wow the amount of types of meat, the broth and the salad was perfect. Really great value for money as everyone else mentioned. Service was quick.
Have been coming here for a while but I'm very disappointed today. I ordered the sugar cane prawn and pork rice paper rolls. When the rolls didn't come with pork the owner initially said that's how it's supposed to be. I then showed him the menu which clearly says pork, he then said the menu was wrong! When I was leaving he said he has now corrected all the menu but he never remade my order and still charged me full price. Don't really feel like coming back here again.
The people were nice. Good service. Good size portion.can't thank them enough. Had a lovely evening!
Best of best pho in Australia i have tried.
I’m glad I found this restaurant and definitely love the all 3 signature dishes.
Absolutely authentic and refreshing. No MSG effect for me.
Very clean and attentive. Closest taste to Northern Pho that I can find in Sydney. Soup could have a little more umami then it’ll be perfect
Food comes served so quickly, kind staff. The bamboo inside bun many Gai was so nice and crunchy! I finished a whole bowl. Definitely come here again. Good!
Judging by the reviews maybe I ordered the wrong dishes. Either way, why have a whole menu just to do only two dishes right. Get rid of the other 30+ choices and just do what you do right.
Maybe just try the pho or the beef noodle soup since if they can’t even cook that then that’s a real problem.
The salt pepper chicken and the bun mam was atrocious. Batter on chicken still raw and the bun mam doesn’t have roast pork? Has fish balls and a few squid pieces? Broth was so bland it was like hot water with a lot of sugar.
This place tries to keep costs down by slacking on essential ingredients. Food overly sweet if you want diabetes.
Inedible and an absolute shame to even be considered Vietnamese cooking.
The other diner who came with us got food poisoning from the chicken.
The worse food I’ve eaten and that’s saying a lot. $40 better spent at Maccas.
Okay, to be quite honest, I've been here a lot in the past. The smoothies were tasty, and the food was superb. I went there today after not having been there for a while. The first problem was poor customer service. They gave me strange looks. Second, the place was filthy. The floor was covered in crumbs. Disgusting. The rice dish I had was alright, but by the time I arrived home, I had puked. My stomach hurt, and I was not feeling well. After eating the same lunch as me, my friend also felt under the weather. In the end, we both vomit. If you don't want to become sick, don't eat here.
10/10, great service and delicious Vietnamese food!
Portions are generous and dishes are well priced- budget friendly. Plenty of nearby parking and barely any wait time on weekends.
I have been going here for almost 10 years with my family… we always get the Pho dac biet, bun mang vit (vermicelli duck noodle soup) and hu tieu xao (stir fry flat rice noodle) with coconut juice and an avocado shake.
Highly recommend trying this place out!
This restaurant is a rename of the old Gia Hoi but the foods don't seem to be the same quality. Bun Bo Hue (spicy noodles) is just average, doesn't have the full taste in my opinion. Grilled meat with rice, the grilled meat is dry like they were grilled yesterday! Serve size are large.
Food has been great both times we've been here. Generous portions.
But they've forgotten our drinks both times. The second time we didn't receive it even after reminding them twice.
1st time here with family 16.10.22 & also returned on 20.10.22 for last minute dinner
Food is 50/50 depending on what u order & reasonably priced - I didn't get a chance to take photos of every dish ordered but we enjoyed half the dishes we had
Fast friendly service & convenient place to stop by after our wedding planning
P. S - We definitely didn't like our drinks - too much artificial sweetener was added unnecessarily
Tasty and affordable Vietnamese food with huge servings. The Vietnamese spicy beef noodles (bun bo Hue) is a must-try! Service is quick and friendly!
Located at the old Gia Hoi place, Pho Song Huong has another restaurant in Riverwood. Has some very authentic Vietnamese dishes and of course Pho. The Beef Pho stock is more on the meaty broth side rather than herbal, but still very nice. Their chilli is very hot. Good selection of drinks, and they have good avocado shakes
Best food! Best service! Prices have gone up but it's on par with Sydney. Still a budget eat that is delicious, fills you up and have enough choices for you to come back and try over and over. Recommend the avo shake!
Love this place. Great value pho your money (pun intended).
Flavour is arguably better than other more well known Vietnamese restaurants in the vicinity but it's the price that does it for me.
Great place to take a group because of their speedy service but can be very popular at times to bed to be prepared to wait at the peak times.
Not so tasty anymore. Something has changed. Poor service. Zero care factor for customers. We're probably not returning to eat here anymore.
The most authentic Vietnamese spicy beef noodles I have tried in Sydney. Only water spinach was missing, but that's understandable.
Decent place for hearty Vietnamese food, rebranded from Gia Hoi. The BBH we got wasn’t too spicy and the pho always hits the spot. One of my go to spots in Bankstown, been here quite a few times!
