WATCHOUT FOR THIS GYM!
I signed up with a 30 day notice and was diagnosed with a serious hernia which I have taken up with admin to cancel with them. They have no respect at all for you as a person or professionalism! They have continued to withdraw from my account after a number of contacts. Beware of what you sign and they are many other gyms with respect and professional out there. There are hardly any staff members on the floor to be seen.

Beware of what you sign up for! Knowing my situation could change - I chose this gym over others as I could sign up for a 3 month membership, giving me the flexibility I wanted. Unfortunately not - even after that 3 month period, I still have to give a month notice - being told it was my responsibility to understand these conditions (all despite the visits and calls I made to clarify membership before I joined). Really disappointing end - as I did enjoy the gym and thought I would one day go back.not now!

The staff are so friendly, and it honestly makes my day going in. Shoutout to Beth for being the best reformer instructor of all time:)

UPDATE: GFitness have solved the problem, it was a miscommunication on their side but the manager got in touch and sorted it out for me. I still really like this gym! Especially the pilates and surf yoga classes.

I like the classes but the management here are sharks. They offered me a trial of the Concept G upgrade, but I couldn't continue the classes because they gave me an injury. I tried to convert back to my normal platinum membership but they insisted on charging me for the more expensive membership for a further 2 weeks, even though I couldn't use it - robbing me out of $50 (they initially wanted $100+). Nice way to treat a loyal member guys. Well done.

I've been a member of this gym since it opened and I couldn't be happier. First class facilities, friendly members and superb trainers. Perfect for all fitness levels.

I was a foundation member of the original Veterans classes, supported by the Department of Veterans Affairs held at the old Harbord Diggers Club, we had a Special discounted rate. We had a special group training together and also turned into into a social group as we all joined for coffee and a chat after training and we still to this day share each other’s company with our wife’s once a fortnight for dinner. But speaking for myself things have changed since the Gym was outsourced to G-Fitness, we all stayed loyal using a makeshift gym while the new club and gym were being constructed. Then our original benefits started to get less and less as time progressed. When I received my last annual fees reminder that had increased I sent an Email asking if I could put my membership on hold as I would be travelling around Australia for 10 months, I was informed that I could only put it on hold for 8 weeks per year and their would be a weekly holding fee during this period. I find it hard to believe that they could not put into a computer the date that you would be away from and your return date without charging a weekly fee, I was also informed that upon my return I would have to pay the normal membership fees with no concession. While the COVIDSafe numbers were in place for our sessions we had to ring and book into a class, but we we had to wait till after our session finished to make the booking, I had occasions when the class had just finished and I tried booking but found that it was booked out, so you would miss classes, the thing that I found during this period was that nearly every class that I attended had new members, so my question is why would you except new members when some of the old members could not get into a session because of the restrictions on numbers in a class. I have now terminated my membership after back and forth Emails and no response from my last email to them. I find that the money counts more than loyalty with G Fitness. I will miss the excellent trainers that I have had over the years and most of all the social getting together with all the friends that I have made over the past 20 years.

I’m a regular at GFITNESS, love the gym, staff & instructors. Went to the recent yoga retreat and thought it was totally awesome. Instructors were amazing, felt totally zen afterwards. Price point was great & experience was excellent. Totally recommend, would definitely go again.

The best gym on the beaches! Great value for money.its like having three gyms in one with a reformer pilates studio, the concept G studio as well as the common group fitness studios and gym floor. It even has a pool and sauna included in memberships. Classes are positive and give great results. Gym is the cleanest I have seen. Couldn't recommend this gym enough!

Don't fall for the enticing marketing campaigns like "zero joining fees and 2 months free" these guys will swindle you for all you've got as soon as you've signed the dotted line.

I've just had an appalling experience with G-fitness Freshwater. As an annual member I understand I am bound to 12 month contract and despite falling pregnant in January this year and getting diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum I was unable to function let alone use a Gym. I spoke with the admin via email and as they weren't able to put my membership on hold for longer than 8 weeks per year, I was forced to cancel. The email communication went back and forth and I agreed to the $250 termination fee, although I felt with medical certificates this should be waived or reduced at the very least. This was back in January. It is now March and I have only just seen that I have continued to be debited the weekly membership fee. After a few phone calls of which no one could resolve anything for me, I went into the branch. I was approached by a man who told me that I wont be getting anything refunded and that I have an outstanding $250 termination fee. I told him this was sorted back in January and he's response was "no this must be done over the phone or in person". I had been hospitalised and immensely unwell for months and their disinterest and rude conclusion was that I had to pay the $250 exit fee today or I'd continue to be charged every week as a member. My termination has not been actioned and I was continuing to be charged despite what the conclusion that was agree'd upon months ago. I was absolutely gob smacked at this swindling manoeuvre by a "community gym" who call themselves a small business. I own a small business and there is no way I'd be able to sleep at night if I treated my clients this way. It's safe to say I wont ever be joining G-fitness again and I'll be sure to encourage others not too as well. Community reputation and word of mouth pulls more business than any fancy marketing campaign, these guys will have to learn the hard way.

Another poor example of customer service and community support.
This gym has shown itself to be another fitness first in sheep’s clothing.
After my financial situation has dramatically changed and I’ve had to go stay with family I attempted to close my membership.
This gym has been relentless in charging me multiple payments and late fees when I don’t have a cent in the account to offer them. They have no understanding for the impact the pandemic has had on indivuals and have no empantht to unforseen distruptions. My partner worked FIFO and due to border closures has been unable to work but this company has no care and has continued to come after me for money I am unable to pay for an account I am unable to use at all. They have shown themselves to be greedy and not supportive of community during these tough times.

Love reformer Pilates with Grace and Beth! Both very welcoming for beginners and high level of knowledge from both.

I have been an instructor with GFitness since its opening in September 2019. I have worked at many gyms over the years and am continually impressed with the operation and friendliness of GFitness. Their professionalism, their continued compliance to government rules and regulations during COVID19, as well as their genuine care for safety and well being, for BOTH staff and members should be commended. Keeping hospital grade sanitation always available and always stocked (some gyms don't), offering maximum classes with maximum attendees where possible (which is forever changing during these unprecedented times), and providing online fitness to those members still in need, are just a few things among many that places GFitness ahead of the rest. During such a difficult time, they are doing a tremendous job, and I am proud to be working with them.

The Gym itself is adequate (overpriced but adequate). My issue is that at a time of turmoil, during this pandemic the gym refuses to budge from their 30 day notice period agreement. I have not only moved away from the area, but have also left the gym due to the strain Covid-19 has put on my finances. This to any rational, understanding and professional individual should be enough to waive this ridiculous 30 day rule, however this institution still insists on following through with this gouging. Yes, it is a simple gouging and abuse of people who are in serious financial trouble. I am not only speaking of myself as I have other friends and family who have experienced the utter disgrace of a procedure.

In contrast, a recent contract (12 month) I had with a climbing gym was cancelled immediately when I explained to them these circumstances. In fact I barely had to explain, no fees, no contractual obligations to benefit the gym, nothing but compassion and understanding, even though I was contracted for another 9 months.

Get your company morals and ideals right G fitness. Unethical and disappointing.

UPDATE
another heartless, careless email response showing how much they care about their customers as apposed to how much they care about money.
Sad.

I absolutely love this place. The gym equipment is new and high tech, the yoga and pilates studios are beautiful. There are lots of classes on the time table. The teachers and staff are very competent and friendly. Could not recommend it highly enough.

Awesome brand new facility with top quality equipment. Classes are top notch with excellent instructors who are friendly and helpful. Parking is easy and heading in to the Diggers for a drink or bite to eat after the Gym is so convenient.

Do not join this gym! My partner and I were initially looking to join a new gym but are so glad we were exposed to the appalling admin at this gym before we became members.

Despite being given a fairly lacklustre tour of the gym, we decided to join because of its convenient location. However, after an apparent miscommunication regarding the terms around referrals, we were aggressively advised to “Get Out of My Gym” by club manager Heath. Absolutely unprofessional and rude behaviour and not the way a business should treat prospective clients.

The facilities are new and the location is good if you live in the area, but the experience we had left us with little confidence that we would receive great service and a good experience. Join at your own peril.

**Update: In response to the reply below, my partner was not aggressive. Our whole experience was extremely unprofessional and culminated in Heath’s handling of a dispute where he was rude and confrontational which, instead of resolving a disagreement, escalated it. As anyone can read from previous reviews, this isn’t the first time issues with management have been raised and from our experience, we doubt it will be the last.

This is such an awesome gym, from the facilities to the professional and friendly staff. It has everything you need, a big gym floor as well as plenty of group class options. After re-opening everything is still brand new and it is definitely a step above any other gyms I have been to.

No consideration for people with medical vulnerability requesting to exit contract due to heightened risk of COVID. Good way to win customers.
Avoid these people like the pandemic!
