Greedy and Evil Bank. The staff are poorly trained and obviously poorly paid. They will lie and steal from you.

A Gateway Bank account was used to scam a customer of my small hospitality business. A deposit for their wedding venue was diverted a Gateway “member” who inserted themselves into an email trail using an email almost identical to my business and misrepresenting myself. Complaint was made to Gateway. They have done zero & refused to speak to the victim (the bride) preferencing their “member” the criminal. The Gateway bank has painted the above actions by their criminal member as a “mistake”. Nevertheless there has been no reparation or communication. Gateway’s procedures are obviously lacksadaisical to the extreme. Banks like Gateway continue to facilitate criminal activities under their radar. Searching for class actions by victims of internet scammers & bank total indifference which amounts to facilitation

This is the least user-friendly bank I have used. No tap and go function, you cannot rename accounts on the app. While the staff are polite, every interaction seems to take weeks if not months to come to a resolution.

Had a great experience with Gateway (and our consultant Pratik) - we were organising a mortgage at short notice and Pratik really went above and beyond to make sure we were in a position to make an offer on the property. We appreciated the option of paying LMI by month, and I would recommend Gateway to others.

I have been a member of Gateway Bank for 43 years plus. Joined when started work CBA 1978. Enquired re a home loan Tuesday last. Gave my details and what I was after. No missed calls. No one rang back. Extremely dissatisfied.

I have been banking with gateway for a few years now. The loans team has been excellent and have managed to help me with a really difficult financial situation. Interest rates are very competitive and I would recommend Gateway Bank as a home loan provider. Loans team went out of their way to help.

DO NOT USE Gateway - the worst bank I have ever engaged with!

1) I refinanced with Macquarie and on settlement date Gateway Bank kept the loan account open and also the money in the offset account. I rang and questioned this and was told they hadn’t received the payout from Macquarie but yet they settled - why would you settle if you didn’t receive the money! They have no idea what they are doing!

2) When i rang and questioned why they didn't follow the settlement instructions and transfer the offset account money to Macquarie they stated - ' The form says the money will be transferred following settlement, it doesn't say same day, you should have transferred the money yourself' (why would i transfer offset account money prior to settlement and accumulate more interest)

3) Customer Service is rude and not very helpful

Do yourself a favour and avoid using Gateway!

Very poor tech. No Apple Pay, PayID or credit cards and a very basic implementation of internet banking (Data Action same as other mutuals use but stripped down)

3 Months ago, i opened an account and all my documents have been verified and about 2 weeks after i received a letter from gateway bank advising that they have closed my account without any explanation, I called and was put on hold for half an hour. Anyway, i think i was lucky not to deposit money into my new account otherwise it would be a hassle to withdraw once the account has been closed.

The worst experience of a credit union after being with them for 10yrs, they cannot communicate and had to call everyday for an answer. Will surely get better service from other banks. Keep away.

They are condescending, arrogant and judgemental on your decisions if you decide to go for another bank's loan rates instead of theirs. Their rates are not competitive, highly unprofessional and I strongly do not recommend them as it reflects on their overall culture and service.

Called the bank a couple of times and got through within a few minutes everytime, whereas other banks puts you on hold for 40 mins.

The company lost $250,000 in a term deposit. Staff were incompetent, long delays to get transferred to a manager and then just dumped onto another person and I had to repeat myself over 10 times on some things. Amazing!

I had been a customer for 30 years and the sheer incompetence of this pretend Bank is astounding, in attempting to discharge a mortgage due to substantial personal issues their care and customer service was appalling, do yourself a favour and use any other real Bank for your Financial Service needs

I've had my mortage with Gateway a few years now and their customer service is always excellent. I recently had to consolidate some debts via adding a new investment loan to my existing mortagage and Simon Choi from Gateway took me through all the steps easily and promptly. I can't recommend Gateway, or Simon, highly enough.

Come on, pass on the interest rate cuts by the RBA. These guys have only passed through interest rate cuts once in the past year.
