Excellent and reliable service by Paul in my wife's business Picton Eyecare. He fixed the NBN Connection to the property and relocated it to a desired location. His knowledge of the system was exceptional and helped me to counter the bad advice given by the shop fitter. I have saved his number and will use him again.

I have been having problems with my NBN service for months, it kept dropping out at least four times a day, the worst was four times in an hour. The ISP tech support was good but offered no real solution, they said we have made a change and see how it goes over the next few days, several time over, but the problem did not go away.

Upon finding Galactic Solutions who offers a range of services relating to computers and telecommunications I gave them a call. To my surprise a technician answers and without hesitation he believes the problem is within the house and that it could be easily fixed. A couple of days later, Paul, the same technician who I spoke to at home arrived.

Paul ran some tests and inspected the set up that had worked previously but now had a problem. He quickly identified that there were additional phone points, an old-style phone point and an out-of-date phone cable that could be causing the problem of the reading being outside the acceptable range, these measurements cannot be measured without specialised equipment. Changing the problems identified one by one, and taking reading in between, the connection and the readings improved with each change. At the end and only one hour later the problem was solved with the results listed below.

Our NBN plan is 25/10. Prior to Paul’s visit we were having at least four dropouts per day with as many as nine, the connection has not dropped once since his visit. An unexpected result of the visit was the improvement on speed. Prior to the visit we were getting around 17/4, we now get 27/7.

In summary I can’t praise Paul enough for his professionalism and expertise and it was all fixed in one visit. If I have a future problem with my internet connection or computer Paul will be my first port of call from now on.

After being left in the lurch by another local provider (who bumped our advance weekday booking hours before the job, after we'd already organised to be at home from work!), we contacted Galactic on the strength of other reviews. Aren't we glad we did? !? Although our issue ended up being straightforward, Paul was thoroughly professional, courteous and absolutely determined to find the cause of our 'fault'. He is incredibly customer focused and we will definitely be in touch with him again. Our ISP had told us we might improve our NBN speeds by having our phone wiring checked. They reckoned we could get up to 66 Mbps and we were only achieving 33. Paul came out, figured out our wiring setup, discovered the cable used in our walls was non-standard and a bit tricky, but battled through trying a bunch of different approaches and wouldn't rest until something worked. When he was done our modem synced at 75 Mbps and speed tests scored pretty much bang on 66 Mbps. Well worth it to double our internet speeds. Paul was no nonsense, respectful, knowledgable, efficient and persistent. Highly recommended.
