Freshwater Rockpool reviews
22Set in breathtaking views of the ocean, Freshie beach and Manly beach. Truly one of the best rockpools in the Northern Beaches.
It was okay but for someone who is disabled after having a stroke I certainly wouldn't recommend it, miles too many stairs & hard to get down & up from the rock pools
(3.5 stars)
At the northern end of Freshwater Beach you’ll find an eight-lane 50-meter ocean pool. Freshwater Ocean Pool is accessed via a pathway from the busy beach, or from a set of stairs down from a paid carpark. The smart folk park just outside the expensively metered spaces walking about twenty more steps for free four-hour street parks on Lumsdaine Drive. The pool itself is a bit green for my liking, with a fresh blue paint job over aggregate that is on the cusp of becoming sharp.
Over the far wall you’ll find an easy to access natural rock channel that powers you to a deeper rock pool. Come closer to high tide to experience it at its best and it will likely beat the pool hands down. Crowd-wise it’s a Northern Beaches affluent white mono-culture. Their monied-up Council though does provide good accessibility, including rails and ramps, untimed outdoor showers, and easy pathways. The lane markings they re-painted though do encourage lap swimmers to take up more than their fair share of the pool despite it being a public holiday.
Great pool but was closed to public this afternoon due to some swimming club event. Can I suggest these events are posted to the website so regular swimmers don’t waste the trip there.
Really nice ocean pool a short walk from the beach. There is an ocean channel off it. The pool is 50m and can get crowded.
A nice straight rockpool with also some shallow water to it's side where you can snorkel and see some fishies. The waves normally dont crash too hard here compared to the Curl Curl Rockpool.
IMHO the best rockpool on Sydney's Northern Beaches. (The fact that it's my happy place doesn't make me biased.)
Stunning view on the ocean. The swimming pool is a 50m with 7 lines. A shower is just there for before and after swim.
My absolute favourite place to come for a swim and to lay on the beautiful rocks in the sun. It's a clean, tiled ocean pool with toilets, an outdoor shower and beautiful rocks/views, very close to freshwater beach. There are toilets and an outdoor open shower by the pool. Parking can be quite expensive unless you park on the street.
A Gorgeous well appointed ocean pool surrounded by an abundance of rock formation. The neighbouring environs are lush with bountiful bushland. The facilities are not up to scratch which is a major down point in an otherwise delightful ocean pool.
Freshwater Rockpool isn’t only a great place to swim, but an awesome place to walk around the rocks, take photos and relax. Stunning views of the ocean and beach. Clean and usually not that busy.
On a small swell day the rocks next to the pool are a great place for snorkelling and relaxing on the rocks. It's away from the crowded beach on hot summer days and from low to mid rise this makes for a fun alternative to the main beach
Life is too short - words cannot describe the beautiful, powerful and regenerative nature of this public sanctuary. Enjoy
One of my favorite pools, lots of places to realx and generally the 4 or so lanes cloest to ocean people do laps which give sthe first 1/3 of pool for just splashing around, can get very busy. There is a signal to aleart life savers of any issues and also a toilet block up the top at the carpark.
Best place to swim in the afternoons and relax along the rocks having drinks and food into the evening.
Just a nice rock pool you can have a swim in, sometimes its a bit dirty but your in the water anyways so your gonna have to have a shower after no matter what.also saw some crabs here.
I just drove from parramatta to Freshwater beach to swim in rock pool. I loved it. I also noticed it is quite big beach with lots of BBQ space and kids park. I must say it is perfect for weekend picnic for family and get together. I love this place.
Great diving, spectacular views, ideal for novice to advanced. Shower facilities onsite & ample parking.
Check out this awesome rock pool during twilight. There are some lights for late night swimmers even.
Have a walk further on behind that pool enjoying the view towards the ocean or Manly beach.
I have yet to take a dip in this beautiful pool, but there were several folks enjoying a night swim and with the changing rooms close at hand this place is really nice.
