Fred's reviews
79 My dining experience at Fred's in Sydney was nothing short of exceptional, deserving a full 5-star rating. The food was the star of the show, with the ravioli, bread, and lamb standing out as the highlights of our meal.
The ravioli was a revelation, perfectly cooked and filled with a rich, flavorful filling that was both comforting and sophisticated. The pasta was tender and the sauce was a perfect complement, enhancing the flavors without overpowering them.
The bread was another standout. Freshly baked, it had a delightful crust that gave way to a soft, fluffy interior. It was the perfect accompaniment to our meal, great for sopping up sauces and enjoying with our wine.
The lamb was also a hit. Cooked to perfection, it was tender and juicy, with a wonderful depth of flavor that was both rustic and refined. The accompanying sides were well chosen, complementing the lamb without stealing the spotlight.
In conclusion, Fred's in Sydney is a must-visit for any food lover. The quality of the food, the ambiance, and the service all combine to create a dining experience that is truly 5-star. We can't wait to return and try more of their delicious offerings.
I was looking forward to Fred's but left thinking that it wasn't really anything exceptional. The food is rich, but the menu is lacking adventure.
Service was good from one of the waiters, but we caught another pulling a face when we politely made a query about a bottle of wine that we had ordered.
The staff here truly enjoy their jobs and you can see it from a mile away. They’re exuding hospitality, and warmth. My wife and I felt right at home, and were treated as such. Thanks team, great work. We appreciate the extra bread - it made it all the more memorable and put the finishing touch on a nice time for my wife’s birthday.
Stopped by by chance in the afternoon, superb cocktail was served. Excellent bar men looked after me. Wonderful relaxed private feeling surrounds. Will definitely return to experience their dining offerings another day.
I tried @fredspaddington located in Paddington The vibe and atmosphere is very amazing. The staff is very friendly too.
We had (Canapés) :
Barbajuan
filled with greens & ricotta, topped with proscuitto
Focaccia
with roasted garlic & balsamic olive oil
Zucchini Flower
filled with spanner crab mousseline
Cold poached king prawns
with aioli (the best aioli ever)

It’s a very enjoyable meal with great service. Service and food quality is on point. Canapés 9/10 Quite pricy though, but so yummy. Though the prawn is quite pricy but their aioli sauce is a must try. But I still love this place. Friendliness of Staff is 9/10, atmosphere is 9/10. Stay tuned for part of Fred.
Part of @fredspaddington, after loving their Canapes lets move on to entrées, mains and dessert.

Here I have;
Cavatelli with pork, fennel & tomato ragu.
Scarlet turnips with soft herbs & butter.
Baharat spiced lamb shoulder with honeyed carrot puree & harissa chickpeas.
Steamed fillet of coral trout with yellow tomatoes, clams & marjoram.
Sauteed greens with fermented chilli & garlic
Crepe’s (forgot the exact name)
Choux bun with chocolate & vanilla cream & espresso caramel.

.
Mains 8/10 flavour is on point, lamb shoulder and sword fish recommended
Sides 8/10 love it not so pricy, asparagus and turnip was delish
Dessert 9/10 for the choux bun 6/10 for the crepe as the sauce has a lil burnt taste.
Definitely a good vibe, ambience, service and good food. Overall 8.5/10
The atmosphere is great, wonderful wine list and each dish was tasty and portions were completely reasonable.
Honestly amazing experience, it was our Anniversary and my partner booked the chef's table, the staff's amazing attention specially Renauld and the food is droolworthy. They even kindly signed our wish card. 10/10
This restaurant is well worth 5 stars, friendly staff, tasty dishes and interior's are outstanding. Will definitely be back soon.
Great initial experience with lovely ambiance. Decent food for the price. We ate at the beautiful bar in the front because we didn’t book a reservation. It was a last minute decision. The bartender was not too friendly or helpful when it came to offering suggestions. Not worth another visit for me.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fred Paddington and was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. The decor was stylish and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive.
But the true highlight of my meal was the opportunity to sit opposite Chef Bowie as she worked her magic in the kitchen. It was a unique and exciting dining experience, watching her expertly prepare each dish with precision and care. Not only was she skilled in the kitchen, but she was also incredibly knowledgeable about the ingredients and techniques she was using. It was clear that she was passionate about her craft and dedicated to delivering the best possible dining experience to her guests.
The food itself was outstanding. Each course was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The ingredients were fresh and of the highest quality, and the techniques used to prepare the dishes were top-notch.
Overall, Fred Paddington is a must-visit for anyone seeking a truly memorable dining experience. The combination of excellent food, warm atmosphere, and the opportunity to watch a skilled and knowledgeable chef at work make this restaurant a standout in the dining scene.
Had an amazing time on a busy Sunday lunch. Food was outstanding and service was great specially for a busy seating - wine service from the somm was quick and attentive, and our waiter Diego was amazing, recommending dishes, having a good chat and keeping an attentive eye.
Dollar for dollar the worst restaurant I have ever been to.
From their dry wrinkled potato to their so called special desert which was not much more than than a combination snail and fruit toast to the presentation of their prawns like large maggots on a sea of red.to the curtains on the windows which so reminded me of a room in a boarding house, to the obscene bill complete with 1.5% surcharge for card. Never again.
Best meal I've had in sydney in a long time.
All dishes were seasoned very well, and the pasta was made with such care.
I can't speak highly enough about our experience at Fred's on Friday night. Daniel and the entire wait staff were warm, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Great menu and wine list. We could have ordered everything! What we ultimately settled on was cooked and prepared beautifully. Will definitely be back when next visiting Sydney.
Average ratings because we felt the pricing here is rather exorbitant. Canapes are $18 each and luckily we didn’t order after seeing other tables. Lamb was $70 for TWO cutlets! It was good but 2 pcs is just ridiculous. The pear tarte tartin is $40 and delicious but $40? ! That tarte ultimately filled our tummy. In conclusion, we won’t return.
We subsequently went to Mimi’s the next day and was much better value. That’s another review.
Great food, service and ambience. More suited to group bookings as main dishes are shared plates.
Had a birthday celebration dinner at Fred's. I'd been there before. Really enjoyed the ambience, atmosphere, food and drink. Cocktails were excellent. Wine generally, whilst good quality way over priced. Food, I had the steak, again. Absolutely excellent, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Great experience, whilst expensive the entire package worth the cost.
Best food ever just passing through saw the so I dropped in to my surprise. I was delighted to eat such great food
We were there on Friday and Sunday and looked after spectacularly by Luca and Gerald. Both were great nights and I highly recommend.
An exquisite experience of food wine and service. The highlights were the perfectly cooked John Dory, and the wonderful prawn ravioli. Cocktails and wine offerings delicious too. Top 10 restaurant in Sydney easily.
